I really couldn't wait to make this post this evening... I expected a little bit of something 'magical' to happen on 11/22, and what do you know? The most 'magical' thing of all, maybe, even, so far happened last night... just at midnight, when I got my first break (early, by some stroke of 'serendipity,' as it so happens)... and all I can say is... They're heeeeeerrrrrreeeee...Guess what I saw last night...? It was a 'Foo Fighter'... lol... no, really... It was a beautifully bright ball, smallish, that flew directly over my head in the upper atmosphere (not in the heavenlies, or 'space') for several hundred yards, at least, and then just... disappeared. There were clouds in the sky, but you could see stars above them... but this light was below the clouds, as opposed to the stars, and it wasn't a star; I've seen so many of those, lately. I should know. No... this was a real and true 'foo light,' which seem to be a common occurrence at the site of my mother and grandmother and great-grandmother's family home, which has been erected in a state park in Arkansas; I thought that that, in itself, was rather serendipitous, considering, but now... they found their way here, evidently... and I couldn't help smiling. *imagine double-smiley big grin* Foo Fighters... traveling their 'sonic highways'... Show me the way home... And 'thank you' for that...

You see, it further occurs to me that I requested the return of my 'light'... I was answered... in the affirmative, I'd say... They pitched me a 'foo-ball'... Game on. Lolol...

I have a few things that I'd like to say tonight about 'Fate' and 'Destiny,' and the very important difference between the two, and what you really need to know about that... the subject came up, and there seems to be some confusion about this... as with other things. This is a good place to start, though, as it will surely have an effect on where we end up... for better or worse. I may not have time to do it 'Justice' tonight, since I have work to look forward to, but maybe I can get a good running start at it, at least. For now, I have something else that I'd like to say... To the listener with the 'weird request' today... That was HOT... Gonna get me a Def Leppard t-shirt... and a Motley Crue t-shirt... all the proceeds go to get their lead singer out of jail...
Bitchin' Camaro, bitchin' Camaro, bitchin' Camaro...
Drove it over from the Bahamas...Lololololol... But, the important question to ask is, "What was its name?" Okay, what was its name...? Its name was "Pearl," of course... the Pearl... drove it over from the Bahamas... True story... And the 'best' part? The engine was a 'straight six'... factory. Sweet... Oh, 'God,' I love this... Yo, Carl... hay, Nikki...

Oh, yeah... and while I'm busy slapping my knees (and I am... lol)... I just thought I'd throw in this timeless video clip from Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,- you know, the full value of this clip hadn't really 'hit me' until just recently... Let's see if you see what I see... I mean, a monkey, Wes...? Jesus, you guys aren't even trying, are you...?Roflololol... Yeah. But the survey says that everybody loves monkeys... Isn't that right, Frank...? Lololol...

I got your 'call'... lol... And so, I have a few words (surprise, surprise, eh?) for you this evening, in the 'spirit' of last night's post, which I so enjoyed... forgive me, I suppose... Today's 'request lunch hour' led off with another 'timeless' piece of work, which was Billy Idol's cover of "Mony, Mony." Which means exactly what?, you say... Well, let's see if you see what I see... They're the greatest 'cover band' in the world...
'Once for tomorrow, and once 'cause I've got AIDS'...But, the important thing is that it was a 'cover band,' and the important question to ask, under the circumstances, is what...? What is the greatest 'cover tune' in the whole world...? Okay, what is the greatest 'cover tune' in the whole world? "Mony, Mony"... you know why it's the greatest 'cover tune' in the whole world...? No... why is it the greatest 'cover tune' in the whole world? Because if the band can't play "Mony, Mony," they can't make Last Call... Idiot... "Shake it, Mony..." And bottoms up... 12 percent, if you can...

I thought it would be nice, this evening, to say an early 'thank you' to all of the callers to the local radio station's 'request lunch hour;' I have to admit, I'm a definite fan... I listen every day, because it always makes me smile... sooner or later. Today, for instance, one of the requests came in for... you'll never guess... So, I'll give you a hint... It was the best song in the world...And I don't mean 'cover song,' baby... this was the real thing... but, I just don't remember the words... right now... lololol... Tenacious D, Ladies and gentlemen... Needless to say, the Beast was stunned... Rock.

Now, this should be Good... And, just because I like you... I'm going to throw this in, as a 'bonus'... And, I very much enjoyed the request for the new tune, 'Stars,' just coincidentally recorded by our host for the evening, and his new band, Sixx A.M. There's something about the lyrics... beautiful. Really. Now, on the 'happy' side of 'thanks giving,' I have another sort of 'announcement' to make... You're not going to believe this... I'm so excited...

So... guess what I got today? No... you'll never guess. So, I'm going to tell you, of course... or, show you... I was handed this certificate today, by total serendipity, needless to say, but, you know me, right...? I'll take it where I can get it... my tokens, that is... and this one is particularly meaningful for me, as I think you'll see what I mean... Entirely suitable for framing... lolol... I am an 'honorary' 'shellback'... which is to say, as the certificate so aptly declares, that I have been initiated into 'the Solemn Mysteries of the Ancient Order of the Deep,' and worthy of due respect as such, the withholding of which to incur the wrath of Neptunis Rex himself. This is it, and I see that there have been other versions, although, I must say, this one is particularly lovely... It really is mine, you know... the name on it (oh, coincidence of coincidences) is 'Gerry'... short for... my name... and the ship that it was issued for...? Now, this is sooooooo cool... Ask me, what was the name of the ship... Okay... what was the name of the ship? *sigh*... It was the USS Kilauea... the Hawaiian volcano... Oh, my 'God,' right...? Lolololol... And, I said 'thank you' for that, too...

Oh, and one more thing about that certificate before I go on... And this is the 'piece de resistance,' if you Will... and I'm adding this, with a smile, just for my 'friend,' 'Arthur'... Do you see where the name is written there...? On the one above, there is a middle initial given, but on my certificate, there is a "nickname" given where the middle initial appears here, and guess what it is... You'll never guess, so I guess I'm going to get to tell you... The nickname given is "Wart"... and the important question to ask about that, is 'whose nickname was 'Wart,' and why should I care...?' "Wart" is the nickname that Merlin gave the young King Arthur in The Sword and the Stone. How do you like that? Me? I pretty much loved it. Speaking of 'destinies' and all... Perfect. 'Thank you,' Walt...

And, look there... in the clip above is a chair... which looks a lot like this one, except... This one is kind of an 'angry chair'... you see how it's been turned upside-down? This image is the Twelfth of the 'Magic Figures' of the Prognostications of Paracelsus... The text given with it runs thusly: 'Although one may seat himself securely, yet there is no chair that may not fall, and also he that sitteth thereon. And thou seatest thyself upon this chair but thou shouldst not be thereon. Thou shouldst be below and not above. For thou art a burthen and an unbearable yoke, therefore falls S. P. Thou hast seated thyself thereon and he hath paid thee and given thee the reward thou was seeking: Temporal honour and praise: and these thou hast gathered all together in thyself and swallowed them up. Therefore as a temporal thing thou must also pass away.'
But the important question to ask here is, 'Whose chair is it?' This... is Dagobert's Throne... I'd say it's an 'angry chair,' too...

This is Dagobert... look at the nose... I'm sure it's a family trait... Sorry; I just thought it was interesting.

This is King Tut's throne... Phe-roe, or Pharoah... the long-haired, or 'long hair,' which is one of the meanings assigned to the title/name... As were the Merovingians, such as Dagobert, known as the 'long-haired kings'... Just for comparison. Again... I found it interesting. And fairly coincidental, don't you think...?

Now, as I was looking at these 'angry chairs,' I noticed something, and I think I'll just go ahead and share it with you, even though I haven't had any time to really contemplate it... I just believe that I'm right about this; see if you see what I see... You see the tassels hanging from the seat of this chair? This is important... Now, look at Dagobert's throne again... see the holes at the bottom of the seat? I'd be willing to bet my lucky quarter that there were tassels threaded through those holes at one time... tassels. But, the important question to ask is, "Why are the tassels important?... they're missing." That's right... they are. And, they are important to the chair... And do you know what...? I think I know where to find them... "As Saunière lay on his deathbed, a priest was called from a neighbouring parish to hear his final confession and administer the last rites. The priest duly arrived and retired into the sick-room. According to eye witness testimony, he emerged shortly thereafter, visibly shaken. In the words of one account, 'he never smiled again'. In the words of another, he lapsed into an acute depression that lasted for several months.
"Whether these accounts are exaggerated or not, the priest, presumably on the basis of Saumière's confession, refused to administer extreme unction.
"On January 22nd Saunière died unshriven. The following morning his body was placed upright in an armchair on the terrace of the Tour Magdala, clad in an ornate robe adorned with scarlet tassels. One by one, certain unidentified mourners filed past, many of them plucking tassels of remembrance from the dead man's garment." www.rennes-le-chateau-rhedae.com/bedu/endofdream.htmlUpright, in a chair... with scarlet tassels... in remembrance... Of the Once and Future King, maybe...?
