Thanks to the 'Foo Fighters,' I just have to say that your music really moves me... especially the acoustic versions. Soulful... really... Beautiful. And then, I just wanted to say that I like the idea of booking bands by raising your own money, as I've been hearing that 'fans' of Foo Fighters have done recently. What do we want? When do we want it? Lol...  Can I possibly interest you in 'three bags full?' No, really... You see, the truth is that when you 'make things happen,' like concerts... and whatever else you had in mind, really... that is 'magick,'- and we can all do it. You see...? 'Gee, I'd like to see the Foo Fighters appear...' 'Me, too... let's do it.' Abracadabra... more or less. But, following the entirely 'scientific' principles of payment for hire, albeit by a new and unique 'channel,' we might 'produce' an 'act' most 'magical'... Where two or more are gathered... you know... It's really not that big a leap. And then, you expand on these 'new' 'channels'... |

Now, before I do anything else, and/or forget to mention this incident in the process of 'building the bigger picture,' I want to tell you something; I only mention it, because... it was a moment of 'joy,' and I want you to find your own little moments of 'joyful recognition' in your own lives. It's what makes being alive so... enjoyable...
At any rate, the local station that I like to listen to (because it comes in here in Florence, mostly... lol... just kidding, Carl... you know I love you, baby) very thoughtfully played (on the Nikki Sixx/Jen show, come to think of it) the studio version of Everlong by 'Foo Fighters,' I really love that song. And, just for 'practice,' say, and mostly for my own amusement (let's face it), I always try to lean my ear really close to the speaker when the part with the 'radio frequencies/voices' comes in; you know, I could never quite 'pick it apart,' until this time... and a single word came through...
You know what it was?
Magic...
It's there, isn't it...? It is...

Isn't life... wonderful? Sometimes?

Good morning... You know, I almost always turn on the radio when I wake up in the morning, and this morning, the most charming host(ess) made a couple of remarks that I couldn't help addressing... to begin with... Your daughter is 13, and you wonder if she is too old to go trick-or-treating... and you asked for opinions... so... I'm going to tell you a story... true, even... lol... The most memorable 'Halloween' that I ever had (ever) was the year that I was 13; I spent it on Kauai, with my best/only friend, whose last name was... Dokter. Ironic, don't you think? Lolol... We took a skateboard, and built a spaceship over it, with tinfoil (wouldn't you just know it?), and it was hollow, to put our candy in; we dressed ourselves up as 'aliens'... green make-up and everything... and we 'rewarded ourselves' for this most clever work with the 'booty.' My mom even threw a Halloween party in the garage, in the hope that we could make a few more friends there, but... well... I had one... One good one... And it made everything okay. I still think about her, very fondly, and our floats over the stock ponds in a homemade raft, writing in Elfen runes to each other, and... trick-or-treating. Wherever you are today, my friend, I wish you so very Well... remember me, won't you? I do... And, your daughter... let her make her own memories, and her own fun, in whatever way this world will allow, for as long as she can... We're not in a great big hurry to grow up... are we? And secondly... it IS a beautiful day in Florence... on the Siuslaw River... on the Great Ocean, looking West... And 'good luck' trying to find a place to pull over on the river... But, hay... come on down... take a chance...  |

Oh, goodness... I thought I'd try to get this posted before my favorite 'morning show' is over... I'll probably just miss it... like the last few concerts I wanted to be at... eh, Carl? I just wanted to say two things, really... first, I hummed along as I could... some good stuff, there... And then, secondly... whatever it is that any of you really think of me, I have to tell you that I couldn't be more sincere in the things that I say... you know... If I'm lyin' I'm dyin'...For realz... But, you should also know that my little 'tokens' are real, too... and last night... on my last break at about 4am (maybe someone else saw it, too, or maybe it was just one of those 'tricks' of the atmosphere, but if so... it was a GOOD 'trick'...lol...), I got another little 'love note,' if you Will. And what do you think it was? A rainbow in the dark. No kidding. The moon was encircled by clouds, and they were 'lit up,' in the colors of the rainbow, with purple/red outside, orange, yellow, green, and then blue, in a doughnut-shape around an empty 'hole,' where the Moon rested... and it was sooooo bright... It was beautiful. And if that wasn't 'Magic,' Carl, I don't know what is... It's all I'm really looking for here... And what do you know...? I found it. Big Magic. I really do wish you all a 'magical' day of your own... ask for it... look for it... Bring it. I'll be around somewhere, humming 'It's a Wonderful Life.' See you 'round... |

Well, here I am, in the middle of my one big 'day off' for the week... and I was just listening to the afternoon radio show, which featured a 'review' of a 'video' regarding what was, evidently, an 'over-zealous' animal rights activist... and the 'display' that she put on in a restaurant, with a live chicken, to boot... A real sideshow... You know, I couldn't help responding to this one; it's one of the reasons that I'm here, talking to myself. How can you make 'God' look 'good' by being a ludicrous 'reflection' of that which 'animates' us? You give 'Him' no glory... and you have caused not one person (I can almost guarantee those numbers) to wish to 'know' 'Him' as a 'lover of happy creatures' by having represented 'Him' so poorly... not to mention the fact that you obviously misunderstand 'nature' as it is. Certain creatures, in this world as it is, are part of that 'chain' which provides sustenance for certain other creatures... we don't necessarily need to be one of them, it is true, but... it is a poor way to make that statement. Speaking of "devil's advocates"... do you see how that works? Who's representing who here...? It really makes you Wonder... You see, you can choose to be here... or not. And, even so, I try to be a good host,- some entertainment, with any luck, and a little bit of something you didn't know... Maybe something you'd like to know better... And, by the way, there are plenty of sheep... there's a definite reason that they don't sell 'lamb-burgers'... Ewwwww... Lolol... |

Why, thank you... yes... in spite of other 'things,' not quite so 'propitious,' say, I do consider myself to be rather lucky, all in all... After all, I got to do the 'Holy Diver' bit, too... as luck would have it... and that was beautiful, too... and 'lucky' to come back up... I would have to say, in retrospect. The 'odds' were probably against it... Iron Man... perfect. But, here's one more for brother Ronnie James... And his 'gift' of 'self-interpretation'... do you see how that 'connects' with our discussion regarding the Hebrew language, and missing letters? What does it mean to you? It all means the 'World' to me... As do you... my own Pook-ie... how lucky can you get? |

I just wanted to take the opportunity to say that, 'yes'... this Is a 'great week' for Rock, if not a 'Great Year,' so to speak... No, really... right here, where I am, we've seen the 'return' of some of the all-time great Rock bands and rock shows... lol... the most awesome Def Leppard (Rock of Ages) was here, and Rob Zombie (Living Dead Girl, More Human than Human), and Social Distortion (Ring of Fire)(well...), the Moody Blues, you know what I mean... and the names of the new bands and material are most coincidental, to say the least, I must say... provocative, even... And the bands themselves are making a 'return,' or at least, some of the great names that were associated with them, and I find this to be... most Wonderful. You see, we all expected things... listen to the music... and always we believe that they are 'right around the corner,' and really, they are... but it wasn't quite time to party like it's 1999... Here comes AC/DC, and Def Leppard, and Pink Floyd, and Robert Plant, Weezer (you know you had me at Hash Pipe...lol), and Foo Fighters, and oh, yes, Nikki Sixx and his 'Modern Vintage' (whom I see has a 'hidden camera' video posted... I'm sorry, dude...) they're all here to 'bring it'... at this time... a really 'happy return' to memories of better times. I find it all to be perfectly wonderful... it's so good to be here, don't you think? The 'good news'... Am I happy to be here...? You bet I am... Well, I have just a little bit of time today, which I should be taking advantage of, and to begin with, I just wanted to say... "Go Ducks... you son of a bitch." Lolol... Shabbat Shalom; it is a beautiful day here in 'Cascadia,' isn't it? It is good just to be here... alive... and dancing... I have so much to say... there is the ark, and 'pearl necklaces,' and books... books. Remember our triptych? And our "Book of Hours?"
