The Path to Initiation... is a Wild Goose Chase!

Yep. Sure enough... it really is. I know that, if you've read through enough of the alchemical treatises and manuscripts of the past, you've probably already come to that, all on your own, right...? Lol... but, as it turns out, you'd be entirely correct in your assessment, and this is all based on the very best, and oldest, historical information that I can gather. Wool-gathering my specialty, you know...
As it turns out, the Path to Initiation (so-called), has been laid out for us quite nicely... a long, long time ago, and very far away, to be re-called and re-played by all men, in all times... even if they didn't remember quite what they were playing at, or why. I suppose that it was hoped that, eventually, somebody, somewhere, would figure it out... and I believe that maybe we have. The Path to Initiation is, most true-ly, "child's play;" as a matter of fact, it is a game... and you'll never believe what it's called...
The 'Royal (and Pleasant) Game of the Goose'... Look at this...
This one is called the 'Game of the Universe and the Golden Goose Egg'... lol... remember our Universal Cosmic Egg? It's a golden goose egg...
En francais...
When in Rome...
So, you see... it's an old game, being played right now in 'real time' by some real gamers... whether they knew it, or not... and the outcome? Well... I'm feeling pretty Lucky... lol... It's a good thing, too, because I understand that wagers were made on the outcome of these games... and I'd hate to lose that lucky quarter of mine now...
And, it's not that I'd be the first one to realize the existence of the game... no... but I have discovered something about the 'game' that I think that I really am the first one to 'uncover,' so to speak...
You see, in the initiatory Game of the Goose, there are nine spaces that are known as 'obstacle' spaces, and these are listed as: the Bridge, the Inn, the Dice, the Well, the Labyrinth, the Prison, Death, the Gateway, and the Goal. These nine 'obstacle' spaces correspond quite nicely with the nine woodcuts shown in the movie, The Nine Gates. You will remember that, when the last of the nine 'gates' is passed, the 'initiate' seems to gain 'enlightenment,' so that the entire premise and plot of the movie is the same as that of the 'Goose Game,' really. Now, all we have to do (according to the movie... remember Balkan's last scene?) is to put the 'obstacle' spaces in the right order, in order to pass them successfully. And, as with most games, somebody has to clear the board first... which kind of makes them a 'winner.'
There are many other interesting ties to be found within the game, and the game board, and as a matter of fact, you will see that the original game board itself is in the shape of a spiral... to begin with. And that really is only the beginning.
And now, I think, we're ready to proceed with the game. This really should be fun, Arthur...
