Now, here is a 'puzzle' that has been the source of ages of consternation, the paths of which have caused countless men and women to 'lose their way' over the years... it's such a 'good' puzzle that it has even been included in the designs of some of the world's greatest cathedrals, as well as Solomon's own temple... Known simply as 'the Labyrinth,' it is a twisted path leading to a central 'prison,' from which the 'traveller' must find his way out again, back 'home,' if you Will... the 'game' and 'objective' seem simple enough, but, the Truth is, finding your way out seems (historically, at least) to be nigh unto 'impossible.' And, it is further given in the stories of mythology, that most of its 'victims' never return to the place from whence they came... in the garden... lol... They are met by a 'hobgoblin' known as the 'Minotaur' or 'Bull God,' so to speak, where they are slain... never to return to the 'land of the living,' and this is a Mystery, as well. Mostly. I propose to show that the 'labyrinth' as a symbol, tells the story of those lost in this 'prison,' and how One finally finds their way out... with a thread... of Hope, most likely... I wonder if it was a blue thread...? Well, at any rate, this story ties a lot of things together, and while I don't have time this morning to make even a Good Start, I will make the 'introduction,' so that you can be contemplating these things until later on tonight... We must be 'wise as Solomon' to solve this one, I think... It'a an endlessly knotty problem... If you see what I mean... Good morning, 'Friends'...

Let me add just a few images here, because I do most earnestly believe that a picture is often worth a thousand words... smooth, or otherwise. And speaking of pictures, I couldn't find the 'nose-gobblin' King that I was looking for, but what do you know? I found him, after all... my banner advertisement features the very same photo of David Bowie looking petulantly (I suppose) at a 'crystal ball.' I wonder if he can see the future...? It would help if he were Asian, I suppose... LOLOL... He has a fondness for underage girls with a 'princess' wish... Be careful what you wish for... Welcome to the 'Labyrinth,' boys and girls... The gobblin-king will turn up... wait and see...

Now, I went back to the 'maskofgod' blogsite and found another 'interesting' blog regarding 'Sweet 16,' which I had also mentioned previously in relation to the Coral Castle builder, and his connection to that... this gets weird... but I'm going to post the 'linkie,' and some images for you to think about. I am... Now, where have I see that before...? I think we all know where... Now, watch this... from the same blog... (postscript)

desire to save the world. Apply in person.
With this image... What do you know...? Another monkey... it's a jungle out there. Damn dirty apes, eh, H(Al)...? Lolol... Oh, the linkie... and the reason this is here is that I was looking for a 'labyrinth' connection, which I found, and guess how...? Two guesses... lolol... A photo of David Bowie and the pubescent princess of his 'dreams'... Like Lolita... Oh, brother. themaskofgod.blogspot.com/2012/05/16-reasons-why-this-is-girl.html[/i]

Well, I hadn't actually meant to bring up this particular 'topic' again, but serendipity just works that way, I suppose... Anyway, the subject of the 'labyrinth' can be approached again, with this morning's earlier post regarding the 'mask of god' on another thread, in which we mentioned that 'Pan' was one of the Egyptians eight earliest 'gods;' and interestingly, this particular 'vision' of the labyrinth includes both 'Pan' and a 'girl' that looks very much like our dear Alice... Now, this would seem to indicate that 'Pan' is at the center of the Labyrinth; so, we need to introduce ourselves to Pan... but not the 'Pan' of the Greeks,- after all, they learned everything that they knew from the Egyptians. Let's look at the Egyptian 'Pan,' and see if we can make any connections there... The Egyptians knew Pan as Mendes and considered him to be one of the original eight gods. In the Egyptian pantheon,, eight gods preceded the second ranked twelve gods (such as Herakles) who in turn preceded the third ranked gods (such as Dionysos). In other words, the Egyptians considered Pan to be a very ancient god.
The historian Herodotus makes an important point when he says that there must have been a very ancient god named Pan and then several extraordinary mortal men who were also named Pan. Because of the antiquity of the immortal Pan, we know nothing of his youth or early travels. The antiquity of Pan's presence in Egypt is attested to by the fact that he accompanied the god Osiris on his military campaigns ... Osiris was one of the original god-kings of Egypt.
In deference to Pan's divinity, the Egyptians did not sacrifice goats, male or female, and goat herders had greater social status than other herdsmen. The Egyptian artistic representations of Pan clearly showed him with a goat's face and legs but insisted that that was not his actual appearance. We are not told how Pan appeared to the Egyptians nor are we given an explanation as to why they would not elaborate on this subject.
The Egyptian city of Chemmo (City of Pan or Panopolis) was dedicated to Pan. The Egyptians had a very high regard for Pan and displayed images of him in most temples ... mythagora.com/bios/pan.htmlWell... how do you like that? Thick as blackberry brambles, indeed...

And so, it would seem fairly obvious at this point that 'they' are reinforcing the notions of the Greek 'Pan,' who was notorious for... being a regular 'Good Humour Man,' if you know what I mean... and failing to mention that there was an older, more respectable version, which is the more authentic, or True, version of that story. And the 'Pan' that sits at the center of that Labyrinth does most truly 'devour' our maids and youths... and you all seem willing that it should be so... I suggest that you begin to pull off the masks, and get down to the real nitty-gritty, as they say... I believe that your future depends on it. You see, the Labyrinth symbolism speaks real Truths... deep Truths, if you Will... and these 'truths' were important enough to include in the 'plans' for Solomon's Temple. We really do need to cover those plans more closely, and we'll get back to that, since this path leads us there, naturally... But for now, I leave you with my best wishes for a 'miraculous' day... Oh, let there be Light... at the end of the Labyrinth...
