So, this is a subject that we need to include in our notebook... We've covered somewhat 'Mary the Jewess,' who was, by all accounts, a most excellent alchemist. It has even been posited that this 'Mary' was Moses' sister (sorer), which would mean that, most likely, Moses was also 'heir' to this knowledge... as well as certain others, among whom we can count this figure known only as 'Abraham the Jew.' Well, let's see what we can 'uncover' here... and how it all 'relates'... Abraham Eleazar the Jew, a Prince, Priest, and Levite, Astrologer and Philosopher, sprung from the root of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, wish my brethren, who through the anger of the Great God, lie scatted her and there throughout the world and are caught in servitude, much success and happiness in the Name of the soon coming Messiah and of the great Prophet Elias, who has already prepared all his brethren. Now, I know that the bird up there is a dodo, but, since we just mentioned something in another thread regarding the Philosophal Stone and something called Gryphon's Gold, it is worth noting that there is also a Gryphon in the tale of Alice and her 'adventures underground.' So, then, this would be a most 'logical' place to find a reference to our Abraham the Jew, and Nicholas Flamel, don't you think? Lolol... But it is... See what I found...  The Gold of the North in Abraham the Jew
“ On the other side of the fourth leaf, he painted a fair flower on the top of a very high mountain, which was sore shaken with the North wind; it had the foot blue, the flowers white and red, the leaves shining like fine gold: and round about it the Dragons and Griffins of the North made their nests and abode.”
So the legendary alchemist Nicolas Flamel informs us in his ‘Hieroglyphical Figures of the Book of Abraham the Jew’. This is just one of seven images that he details for us from this strange tome, but it is quite rich in meaning and purpose...
...almost all of the images from the Book of Abraham the Jew (with the exception of the image of Hermes and Chronos) derive straight from the Hebrew Bible! Therefore, as Flamel’s account makes clear, it is more than necessary to understand from the Hebrew Bible, and therefore Jewish Kabbalah (or Cabala/Qabbalah; however you fancy to spell it), what these images are supposed to represent. I have outlined below the major elements contained in this image and their possible meanings. I have utilized both Bible and mythology to explain each element.
1. THE MOUNTAIN: According to many verses from the Bible, God has His abode on a mountain top. I am reminded of passages such as Isaiah 14:13 and Psalm 48:2. This is an idea or belief shared by many mythologies and cultures around the world. Mount Olympus is but one example. Therefore, I see this as a sign that in order to learn the secrets of Alchemy, you must first make contact with the Divine residence. Geometrically speaking, the pyramid is also seen as the abode of God and there are many, this author included, who believe that this sacred geometry plays a huge role in the secrets of Alchemy and is, in fact, the shape of the Universe! The Grail Key, as presented by Mr. Burden, can also be viewed as the heavenly view looking down on the pyramid, which would appear as a square with an X in it! “X marks the spot”, as Indiana Jones said in ‘The Last Crusade’ while in the library looking for the Grail map!
This idea can also be found in Plato’s ‘Timaeus’ and, as we shall see, there is more going on with those great Egyptian monuments that few realize! It is good to keep in mind that Egypt is where the name Alchemy comes from!
2. THE FLOWER: ‘I am the rose of Sharon and the lily of the valleys’ Song of Solomon 2:1. I need not remind anyone here of the importance of the rose in Rosicrucianism and the occult. This is a famous title of Christ and the Maranatha puzzle makes clear that it is also a symbol for “Truth, protected in it’s tender frame“. Time to expose things that are “sub rosa”.Flamel informs us that it appeared in the Book of Abraham with a blue base, and with red and white flowers, gold leaves, and blown with the North wind... Even here, we must break this flower down into it’s constituent parts:
A blue base reminds us that God appeared on Mount Sinai (here we have our mountain again) on a sapphire pavement! See Exodus 24:10. When Ezekiel has his vision of God from the North, He appears on a sapphire throne! See Ezekiel 1:26. I find it fitting that the birthstone for September (the month I was born) is the sapphire, considering that two of the most important Jewish feasts occur in this month, which are the New Year and Sukkoth (the Feast of Tabernacles). The Feast of Tabernacles is supposed to represent God taking up residence or ‘tabernacling” with man, as can be seen in the referenced Exodus passage. It is also considered by many scholars to be the time of year that Christ was born, which would fulfill a prophetic pattern here, but this is beyond the scope of this article, so let’s move on.
If you look back at the previous referenced verses, God’s mountain is always seen as coming from the North! See also Ezekiel 1:4. The flower also has red and white leaves which speaks of the white and red stages of the Philosopher’s Stone...So, here we meet up with our Philosophal Stone again... 'fancy meeting You here'... lol... but I can't say I didn't expect it; I hope that if you've been reading along, you're seeing the patterns come together, and there is no need to say anything about it, unless you feel so inclined. It's just kind of... fun... to watch, don't you think? Or not... So, let's continue on with a bit more information from that piece before we come to the writer's 'conclusion;' this is really Good stuff, and makes certain 'connections' more... sensible...
Additionally, in Revelation 12, Satan appears as a great red dragon attempting to swallow the woman’s child. She is clothed with the sun and moon, and so appears dazzling white! I am reminded of the story of Chronos here, and the alchemical overtones in these passages are simply amazing! In Song of Solomon chapter 5, the prince is said to be white and ruddy, which means of a reddish complexion...
Red, White and Blue are also seen as representing Mercury (blue), Sulphur (red) and salt (white). It’s not without meaning that this very thing was given in clues for the Maranatha puzzle. Our blue apples may not be fit for eating after all...
3. THE DRAGONS AND GRIFFiNS OF THE NORTH: Now here is where things get really complicated...
In the Bible, in the visions of the prophets John and Ezekiel, we are met with some rather strange and terrifying creatures. Now forget everything that you think you know about the following term...
Some unlearned amateurs got together during the Renaissance period and thought it would be cute to confuse the terminology “Cherub” and “Cherubim” with the images of Cupid... however, that is NOT what a cherub is...
It’s Cherub for singular, Cherubim for plural...
You can explore these wonderful monsters in Ezekiel chapters 1 and 10, Revelation chapter 4 and Genesis chapter 3. They appear as follows: A beast with four faces; that of a man, lion, eagle and ox. Six or sometimes four wings apiece, with hoofs and wheels and rings, (flying saucers anyone?) and they are God’s Throne-room guardians. They were dispatched to guard the Tree of Life and also were part of the decor on the golden Ark of the Covenant...
Now, let us remember that in Greek mythology, the creatures known as Griffins, or Gryphons depending on who’s writing, are, like our Cherubs, a composite creature of eagle and lion. Of course this only accounts for two of the creatures that make up a Cherub, but you get the point. There is something very interesting you ought to know about these things according to Greek mythology. They are guardians of a particular metal. Care to guess? That’s right, they guard the gold of the north! Not only that, but they guard this treasure from characters called the One-eyed horsemen...
In Job chapter 37:22, it says in the KJV that ‘Fair weather cometh out of the north, with God is terrible majesty.” Well, as it turns out, the Hebrew word translated ‘fair weather’ is ‘zahab’, which is also the Hebrew word for gold! The idea here being that a beautiful and bright day that shines like gold would come from the North where God is! After all, you have to use the same letters whether it’s GOLD, GOOD or GOD...
So, here we meet with, among other things, the beginning of a concept of a 'Golden Dawn,' don't we...? And a 'cherub,' or Gryphon, that guards the 'Gold of the North,' if not the Tree of Life...
Now, this is all symbolic, of course... mostly...
Of course, 'we' aren't the only ones looking for this 'gold' or 'Good;' there is an 'opposite' faction that seeks not our 'good,' but its opposite, which is... 'evil'... and its 'power' is gained by 'sacrificing' to its' 'honored' figurehead,- the 'Devil.' The thing is, I'm not altogether convinced that your 'devil' is still Lucifer...
If you know what I mean...
I think somebody else put that 'mask' on, too... and that reminds me of a(nother) Twilight Zone episode... but not the one with the 'living dummy'...

CONCLUSION
So, now we’ve come full circle. A mountain of God, located in the North, where God’s treasure is guarded by creatures that, in my opinion, gave rise to the Griffins of Greek mythology. These things were also known as the ‘hounds of Zeus’.
Man, ox, eagle, lion= water, earth, air, fire.
There are many other things that can be said about the importance of these amazing creatures and their purpose. In fact, these things have so much influence, that they are even part of pop culture.
I cite the following examples: In the film ‘Sherlock Holmes’, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, which features a pseudo-Masonic-like secret society, our famous detective comes to a realization using the parts of an ox, eagle and man that leads him to the geographical location of the lion in London!
In ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’, it is only “with a leap from the lion’s head will he prove his worth’ in obtaining the Grail! In the Maranatha puzzle, Mr. Burden tells us to look at the lions’ face!
In Revelation, the four beasts guard an emerald throne and streets of gold . Trip to Oz anyone? L. Frank Baum, you genius you!

Now, I would like to introduce yet another 'mysterious' subject to the 'mix,' lol... that, at first glance, would seem to have no bearing on our Abraham, nor anything else much... at first glance. But, here in 'Wonderland,' we look twice... or thrice... and then sometimes I kind of squint my eyes up, and just wonder... and this is one of those things. Well, you probably noticed that I included a quote from the prophet Jeremiah in the piece above, because I felt that it was... relevant to the subject at hand, somehow. Now, I think I know why... So, just quickly, I'm going to ask you to read a little story, which actually follows close on the heels of Jeremiah 31:27, which tells me a couple of things... first, that it is 'related' to the quote given above, and secondly, that it is important... to the prophet Jeremiah, certainly, and to future events, generally, I'm fairly certain. Read it through, and then, I want to tell you a little 'parable,' or another kind of story, about a field... I think you know that one... or not... Jeremiah 32:6-12 6 And Jeremiah said, "The word of the LORD came to me, saying, 7Behold, Hanamel the son of Shallum your uncle is coming to you, saying, "Buy for yourself my field which is at Anathoth, for you have the right of redemption to buy it."' 8"Then Hanamel my uncle's son came to me in the court of the guard according to the word of the LORD and said to me, 'Buy my field, please, that is at Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for you have the right of possession and the redemption is yours; buy it for yourself.' Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD. 9"I bought the field which was at Anathoth from Hanamel my uncle's son, and I weighed out the silver for him, seventeen shekels of silver. 10"I signed and sealed the deed, and called in witnesses, and weighed out the silver on the scales. 11"Then I took the deeds of purchase, both the sealed copy containing the terms and conditions and the open copy; 12and I gave the deed of purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the sight of Hanamel my uncle's son and in the sight of the witnesses who signed the deed of purchase, before all the Jews who were sitting in the court of the guard.…There are several 'interesting' points made here; first, it is was 'purchased' by a 'family member,' and it would be given by right of inheritance, most likely, to the 'claimant.' The field is in the 'land of Benjamin,' and the Benjamites are of particular interest to the Priory of Sion, according to their 'documents'... and so far, nobody can quite figure out 'why.' There may be a couple of reasons, but I think that this is one of them... there was a reason to purchase that particular field, and carefully record it for the 'future.' An heir, maybe... And maybe... just maybe... that is why 'bloodlines' are important in all of this, and not necessarily for the 'royalty' angle at all (although, men are certainly eager to believe that, too... and there is the fact that alchemy is referred to as the 'Royal Art,' and therefore, the possessor of its secrets would be True 'royalty,' wouldn't they? Maybe...),- it belongs to somebody. And so do the 'family secrets' that it contains... and only an 'heir' can put them to use... Just sayin'... |

Now, let us remember that in Greek mythology, the creatures known as Griffins, or Gryphons depending on who’s writing, are, like our Cherubs, a composite creature of eagle and lion. Of course this only accounts for two of the creatures that make up a Cherub, but you get the point. There is something very interesting you ought to know about these things according to Greek mythology. They are guardians of a particular metal. Care to guess? That’s right, they guard the gold of the north! Not only that, but they guard this treasure from characters called the One-eyed horsemen...
In Job chapter 37:22, it says in the KJV that ‘Fair weather cometh out of the north, with God is terrible majesty.” Well, as it turns out, the Hebrew word translated ‘fair weather’ is ‘zahab’, which is also the Hebrew word for gold! The idea here being that a beautiful and bright day that shines like gold would come from the North where God is! After all, you have to use the same letters whether it’s GOLD, GOOD or GOD...
So, here we meet with, among other things, the beginning of a concept of a 'Golden Dawn,' don't we...? And a 'cherub,' or Gryphon, that guards the 'Gold of the North,' if not the Tree of Life... Now, this is all symbolic, of course... mostly... Of course, 'we' aren't the only ones looking for this 'gold' or 'Good;' there is an 'opposite' faction that seeks not our 'good,' but its opposite, which is... 'evil'... and its 'power' is gained by 'sacrificing' to its' 'honored' figurehead,- the 'Devil.' The thing is, I'm not altogether convinced that your 'devil' is still Lucifer... If you know what I mean... I think somebody else put that 'mask' on, too... and that reminds me of a(nother) Twilight Zone episode... but not the one with the 'living dummy'... With a wink and a nod to the poster known as 'Killuminati'... roflolol... Another mass throwdown. heh heh Mines energizer bunny. In the zodiac those are the fixed signs. Fixed meaning the 'faces' do not move - they are steady in their intent. They also represent the elements which are also steady in their intent. The undeniable. The inevitable. Those are the four 'node' points where no amount of intelligence or good cheer or whinning will ever change. The points that must be given utmost respect and consideration for their seeming 'lack' of consideration as it were. lol They do their buisness regardless of our attitude toward their buisness. The business of sustaining ... :popcorn: *giggles* Gosh, I'm sorry that took so long to post... I had a loss, and generally slow responses from H(Al), et al... but I felt like I needed to get that out there, before it went the way of many a good thought... Up in smoke... Anyway, you make a very valid point; after all, if a thing is True, it is supported on all levels... and certainly, this illustration seems to testify to the 'truth' of what it is that you say...  The 'world' is 'anchored,' if you Will, by these four 'fixed entities'... the directions, the seasons, the elements, and perhaps even these 'node' points that you mention, although I have a feeling that those are more 'cyclical' in nature, and due to an 'elliptical' or egg-shaped 'circuit' or path, they are somewhat difficult to pinpoint. You see...? Generally, 'they' can know when they are coming, but specifically... no. It just kind of 'slips in on you.' I think... I really am glad you showed up...
