Since the topic of symbolism has come up, I'd like to add the Masonic Tracing Board to the mix... it includes so many symbols that are relevant, and even 'serendipitous,' if you Will, that I thought that we could find something here worthy of further contemplation. It is, in fact, totally and wholly appropriate to the 'Temple' itself... Let us begin with the 'twin towers' symbolism... sun and moon above each... opposites that uphold the Temple. This symbolism is repeated in the architecture of the great cathredrals, including Notre Dame; it is important enough to have reproduced it in stone for all men to read... that could understand it. Sun and Moon, dark and light, Male and Female, hot and cold... and these 'twins' are incorporated within the 'triptych' that is completed with the addition of the 'eye' in the center; notice that the cathedrals reproduce this 'triptych' symbolism, as well... We can start here... with the intriguing additions of the heart, the anchor, the ladder, and the five-pointed star... We can always build on this small foundation... I would also please like to give credit for the wonderful graphics used here, of the cathedral and the tracing board to this website... www.richardcassaro.com/forbidden-pagan-wisdom-written-in-stone-on-masonic-high-gothic-cathedralsNow, most of this information is based on an older work, I'm sure, titled 'The Message of the Cathedrals,' and written by yet another 'unknown philosopher' named Fulcanelli... I will quote from another website: Our star is single and yet it is double. Know how to distinguish its true imprint from its image and you will observe that it shines with more intensity in the light of day than in the darkness of night.
This statement corroborates and completes the no less categorical and solemn one made by Basil Valentine (Douze Clefs):
'Two stars have been granted to man by the Gods, in order to lead him to the great Wisdom: observe them. Oh man! and follow their light with constancy, because it is Wisdom.'
Are they not the two stars shown in one of the little alchemical paintings in the Franciscan convent of Cimiez, accompanied by the Latin inscription expressing the saving virtue inherent in the night shining of the star?:
'Cum luce salutem; with light, salvation.'
At any rate, if you have the slightest philosophic sense and take the trouble to meditate on the words of the undoubted Adepts quoted above, you will have the key with which Cyliani unlocks the door of the temple. But if you do not understand, then read the words of Fulcanelli again and do not go looking elsewhere for a teaching, which no other book could give so precisely.
There are, then, two stars which, improbably as it may seem, are really only one star. The star shining on the mystic Virgin -- who is at one and the same time our mother (mère) and the hermetic sea (mer) -- announces the conception and is but the reflection of that other, which precedes the miraculous advent of the Son. For though the celestial Virgin is also called stella matutina, the morning star; though the recognition of this source of blessings brings joy to the heart of the artist; yet it is no more than a simple image, reflected by the mirror of Wisdom. In spite of its importance and the space given to it by the authors, this visible but intangible star bears witness to that other, which crowned the divine Child at his birth. The star which led the Magi to the cave at Bethlehem, as St. Chrysostom tells us, came to rest, before dispersing, on the Saviour's head and surrounded him with luminous glory.
I will stress this point, although I am sure that few will thank me for it: we are truly concerned with a nocturnal star, whose light shines without great brightness at the pole of the hermetic sky. It is, therefore, important, without allowing oneself to be led astray by appearances, to enquire about this terrestrial sky mentioned by Vinceslas Lavinius of Moravia and dwelt on at length by Jacobus Tollius:
'You will have understood what this Sky is, from the following little commentary of mine and by which the alchemical sky will have been disclosed. For: 'This sky is immense and clothes the fields in purple light, 'In which one has recognised one's stars and one's sun.'shadowtheatre13.com/mysterycathedrals.html At any rate, there you go... The blueprint, or the cathedral, so to speak...? And, while this is probably the wrong forum on which to mention such a conspiratorial-type topic, I can hardly help myself... As to the 'Twin Towers,' and the 9 and the 11... and the attack against such... what do you suppose the particular message was? There obviously was one... And an answer, as well, I'm sure... Psalm 21Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?
2The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
3“Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.”
4The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.
5He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
6“I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”
7I will proclaim the Lord’s decree: He said to me, “You are my son; today I have become your father.
8Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.
9You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”
10Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth.
11Serve the Lord with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling.
12Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.Read more: innerchamber.proboards.com/thread/627/serendipities-tracing-board-symbolism#ixzz2dSZCktLt

The Tracing Board includes the five-pointed star of Venus, which I understand was once bright enough to be mistaken for the Sun itself, and was also considered to be the original 'trickster' for that reason, as well as being the Sun's 'nemesis'... Now, Albert Pike tells us in his 'Morals and Dogma' that all the great Symbols of Masonry were seen in the stars by the ancient astronomers. "Sirius still blazes in our Lodges as the Blazing Star (l'Etoile Flamboyante). The Sun is still symbolized by the point within a Circle; and, with the Moon and Mercury or Anubis, in the three Great Lights of the Lodge." The Kings of Orion... Here (in Abraham) we have a preeminent biblical patriarch as a practicioner of black magic, the forbidden art taught to man by the Watchers. And Abraham is not unique in this regard. Later figures such as Moses and Solomon were also said to be sorcerers. If three of the most important Old Testament figures were practicioners of the black arts, might not one reasonably conclude that an occult doctrine or tradition was perhaps central to the creed that eventually evolved into Judaism, and later Christianity? We will explore this idea (and the figure of Abraham) in greater depth later on, but first we will revisit the story of Jacob.
It was the tale of Jacob’s Ladder that provided the point of departure for most of our subsequent research, and we have since discovered alternate versions of the tale in which the symbolism is much more vivid. For example, in an apocryphal book called The Ladder of Jacob, 1:1-6, we read:
“He found a place and laying his head on a stone, he slept there, for the sun had gone down. He had a dream and behold a ladder was fixed on the earth, whose top reached to heaven. And the top of the ladder was the face of a man, carved out of fire. There were 12 steps leading to the top of the ladder, and at each step leading to the top were human faces, on the right and on the left... and the face [on top was] one of fire... [and was] exceedingly terrifying...”
The ladder in Jacob’s dream could be construed as representing a direct lineal connection between God and man, or the sons of God and man - the Nephilim patrimony of the twelve tribes of Israel fathered by Jacob. The “exceedingly terrifying” face of fire at the ladder’s apex is assumed to be God, although it could certainly be deemed a Luciferian apparition as well. The notion that the ladder represents the descent of the twelve tribes seems to be borne out by the twelve steps of the ladder, one for each of Jacob’s future sons. We find support for this idea in The Legends of the Jews, which tells Jacob’s story in greater detail.:
“Jacob took twelve stones from the altar on which his father Isaac had lain bound as sacrifice, and he said: ‘It was the purpose of God to let twelve tribes arise, but they have not been begotten by Abraham or Isaac. If now these 12 stones unite into a single one, then I shall know for a certainty that I am destined to become father of the twelve tribes.’ At this point a ... miracle came to pass; the twelve stones joined together and made one, which he put under his head, and at once it became soft and downy like a pillow... He dreamed a dream in which the course of world history was unfolded to him.”
The dream of Jacob’s Ladder is both a memory and a prophecy. It both foretells the coming of the twelve tribes, and alludes to their fallen angel lineage. In a bizarre addendum to this story, Jacob annoints the stone that served as his pillow with oil descended directly from Heaven, and then God casts the stone into “the Abyss” to serve as the cornerstone for his temple. But why would God want the cornerstone for His temple to be in the Abyss? Could it be because Jehovah’s Sumerian prototype, Ia, was known as “the Lord of the Abyss”?
The Serpent Messiah
One of the oddest symbols used frequently in reference to the Grail bloodline, and often in wildly unexpected contexts, is that of the serpent. We are all familiar with the serpent of Genesis, as the premier villian of Christian theology - the Devil himself. Consequently, the serpent has come to be viewed as emblematic of evil. How then are we to explain the strange episode, found in the Old Testament and in apocryphal Jewish legends, in which God instructs Moses to consturct a magical bronze serpent, the mere sight of which would save Israelites and bring death to their enemies? In some versions of this tale it was said that this serpent could cure men bitten by poisonous snakes. Others went so far as to say that it could actually save their souls. Biblical scholar James Kugel, commenting on the story, said this:
“The bronze serpent fashioned by Moses greatly troubled ancient interpreters. After all, a man-made object that had to power to cure snake bites if one simply looked at it - did this not smack more of magic than proper belief? What was worse, this same bronze serpent was later said to have become an object of idolotry in itself.”
The explanations arrived at by ancient interpreters are less than satisfactory. They claimed that it was not the snake which saved people, but God, and that by beholding it, they were beholding Him. But this fails to explain why a graven image was made to portray God, or why God would be symbolized as a serpent. Every conceivable aspect of this story is utterly in variance with what we know about orthodox Christianity or early Judaism. Another version of the tale, related in The Letter of Barnabas, says:
“...the Spirit, speaking to the heart of Moses, [tells him] to make a representation of the cross and of him who was to suffer upon it... Moses therefore made a graven serpent.”www.redicecreations.com/specialreports/2006/03mar/luciferianlegacy.htmlMore ladders... For one thing, Joseph was thrown into a pit, or 'abyss,' if you Will, by his own brothers and left to perish... he was, of course, spared and went on to spare the lives of his brothers, not all of whom agreed to the conspiracy, but felt 'powerless' to do anything about it. In the same way, Korah and his sons were sent to the 'pit' or the 'abyss' by their own 'brother,' Moses... it is said that the women and children were swallowed alive, and so likely survived... even though, they were meant to perish 'from the face of the earth,' and pretty effectively did. Not all of the tribes agreed to this, but also felt 'powerless' to resist Moses, and so, served as accomplices to the treacherous act... it was a shame, I think, and little remembered. Since we are looking at a historical allegory, what if they did not perish, either, and are waiting... to return, say... In the book of the 'Revelation of St John the Divine,' we read of men coming up from the abyss... fierce, with hair like women's (long, as the Merovingians are known to have worn theirs), and crowns (the Merovingians were kings, remember) but with the faces of men... in such a number as to appear as locusts... Chapter 9: And the fifth angel blew the trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from heaven to the earth, and the key of the shaft of the abyss was given to him. 2 And he opened the shaft of the abyss, and smoke went up from the shaft like smoke from a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke from the shaft. 3 And out of the smoke locusts came to the earth, and power was given to them like the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 And it was told to them that they should not damage the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, except those people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 And it was granted to them that they should not kill them, but that they would be tormented five months, and their torment is like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a person. 6 And in those days people will seek death and will never find it, and they will long to die, and death will flee from them.
7 And the appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle, and on their heads were something like crowns similar in appearance to gold, and their faces were like men’s faces, 8 and they had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like the teeth of lions, 9 and they had breastplates like iron breastplates, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of many horse-drawn chariots running into battle. 10 And they have tails similar in appearance to scorpions, and stings, and their power to injure people for five months is in their tails. 11 They have as king over them the angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek he has the name Apollyon.
12 The first woe has passed. Behold, two woes are still coming after these things.Curiouser and curiouser... I think that Moses did not care for their branch of the family tree, and tried to 'cut it off'... as Joseph said, "You meant to do me harm..." I don't think it worked, in either case. Here are some other nice versions of the Tracing Board, which show the symbolism... Some of it looks pretty familiar, doesn't it...? Even to a 'non-Masonically inclined' thinker, most of these symbols should already have some meaning, even if it is only 'personal,' somehow... I see the Tracing Board as a sort of 'primer' of the basic things that you need to know, in order to have a basic understanding of things... on many 'levels.' Lol... Beautiful, aren't they...? And much like the old needlework 'samplers,' men would create their own versions of the Tracing Board, as you can see, in order to further impress these symbols on their psyches... you can see that certain versions concentrate on the symbols that the 'creator' found most meaningful, although all of the symbols used are 'understood' by all... and those who saw the Tracing Boards were taking in the information, as well... even on a subconscious level, by the non-initiated, which still might bear fruit through contemplation... And there is so much here to contemplate...

Now, let's think about the anchor and heart, shown on the Tracing Board... of course, there are many levels of interpretation for these things, but here is something interesting that I found while looking for a crest... Since Albert the Bear comes out looking like a Zahringer, one possible way of tracing the proto-Illuminati cult further back than Zahringers is to look at the Billungs. The earliest-known Billung was Oda (born about 800), wife of Liudolf and therefore mother of Bruno, founder of the Brunswick house. At the website below, we learn that the arms of Brunswick were two gold lions on red, which was not only the symbol of Normandy, but of the Abreu surname. Since I've traced the Abreu term to the Eburovices Celts (of Evreux, Normandy), might "Bruno" have derived from a term that was formed in honor of the Eburs?www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/de-bs%5Ed.htmlOne possibility, therefore, is that the Red Shield that was "Rothschild" was the red shield of Brunswick, in which case Rothschilds trace back to a red branch of Eburo Hebrews (interesting enough, certain Eburs founded York, depicted eventually by a white rose as opposed to the red rose of Lancaster). I traced the Bruce kings of Scotland to the same Eburovices, which may then explain why the Bruces changed their blue lion symbol to a red saltaire cross on gold.
For the first time ever, I can now take a stab at identifying the red rose of Lancaster...as the red heart of Luneburg. In fact, Luneburg became amalgamated with Brunswick in what became Brunswich-Luneburg. The Brunswick-Luneburg webpage shows the symbol of Luneburg: a blue lion on gold with red hearts (seen also on the Arms of Brunswick Duchy). This design reflects the gold lion on blue with red hearts that was and still is the Danish flag/arms, which can't be a coincidence. Keep in mind that these very blue and gold lions were used as symbols also by the Templars. As I write, I have already found (and written several times on) a large, single red heart symbol belonging to a Flemo-Vero-Merovingian bloodline leading to the founders of the United States; the details are in coming chapters, but as yet I do not believe I have found the symbol's full significance. I have known for some two years that red hearts appear on the Hohen-family Arms of Prussia, and clearly these must belong to Luneburg, something I had not known until now. Note that the red hearts are on a white background, and placed directly beside the Hohen red and white checks.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brunswick-L%C3%BCneburg On the other side of the red hearts we see the anchor symbol. Is it a coincidence that the Huggo Coat uses the very same mermaid seen in the German Babel Coat, while that mermaid (in the Huggo Coat) holds an anchor? Later, I will show that this anchor belonged to the proto-Bruce family called "Bratt," a family that traces to proto-Leslies and proto-Drummonds in Podebrady, Bohemia. Is it a coincidence that beside the anchor (in the Hohen-family Arms of Prussia) we see a stag, and that the Kyles used both a stag and an anchor in their historical crests? No, this is not a coincidence, and the telling detail is that Hohens were closely related to the Arthurian character, king Cole. As crazy as that sounds, startling evidence is coming soon, when I reveal early Babenburgs in the region of Yorkshire, where king Cole ruled.
I read from Wikipedia that Oda Billung was the daughter of a French prince named Billung. Oda is said to have been born in 806, during the reign of Charlemagne, wherefore if true that she was the daughter of a French prince, she must have been the daughter of a son or grandson of Charlemagne.www.tribwatch.com/SingleFile.htmI just thought that was... interesting... You've got to love the media... Now, how in the world does this tie in to our esoteric discussion of masonry? I'll tell you how... There are smiling and grinning faces all over the Chapel. Some of the smiles and grins are close to insanity, so there is an edge that makes you never quite sure when you are being made a fool of.
The Earls of Rosslyn annually entertained travelling gypsy troops who were housed in Rosslyn Castle and presented popular Robin Hood plays. The pre-Reformation Roman Catholic Church did not take itself too seriously: each December the Abbot of Unreason presided at Holyrood Abbey and on New Year's Day the 'King of the Bean' ruled.
But in 1579 (almost twenty years after the Scottish Reformation) the Robin Hood plays were banned and all minstrels, pipers, fiddlers and singers of profane songs expelled from Edinburgh and its surroundings.www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/christianity/places/rosslynchapel_1.shtmlI'm guessing they moved to Beverly... Hills, that is... Or, at least, California... The Golden State... Read more: innerchamber.proboards.com/thread/627/serendipities-tracing-board-symbolism?page=2#ixzz2dSpBkobl

Now, please compare the shape of the coffin (above) with the 'shape' of the Path of the Sephiroth (below)... also notice that a 'tree' is growing out of the coffin; this can be compared to the Acacia tree in the Hiram Abiff story, and I think that you can see its application, generally... In most solemn truth I tell you that unless the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains what it was--a single grain; but that if it dies, it yields a rich harvest. - John 12:24
