Season's Greetings, everyone... well, all two or three of you, anyway... I just wanted to start this evening's posts (I traded nights, so that I could finish up some of my 'Xmas' goodies) with a 'hello,' and a really big 'Thank you' to whatever Good Spirits are at work this year, for all of the 'smiles,'- I can't remember having enjoyed so much 'random happiness' of the Season since... I was just a kid, I think... it's all pretty Magical to me, and it's been a lot of fun. My heart is full, and my thoughts are... quite sublime, really. How can I help myself, in such Great Company as this...? (with Thanks to the Youtube poster known as 'rockTHEnine'... more Good Juju) Now, this (titled 'Nature') is just for 'illustration,' really... the one that I saw last night was a Christ-mas special, which included the same Bighorn Ram, but in a different 'set-up;' in last night's skit, the Ram was bleating, and Will Ferrell (as Robert Goulet) turned to the sheep and said, "Good Lord... I don't speak Spanish... what kind of a question was that?" I almost fell off my chair... Notice in the clip above that he is riding in the ubiquitous red car, and of course, there is the Ram... as to the Spanish, remember Mari and the Basques... and 'Good Lord,' as applied to a Ram... well... I think we just discussed that, didn't we? We did... And then, there was Adam Sandler's "Chanukah Song," which is practically a tradition this year... now, that's a Classic... "Instead of one day of Christmas, we have Eight Crazy Nights..." Lolol... Tonight and tomorrow I'd like to find some more of these 'treasures' to play again; the 'gift of laughter' isn't too shabby, either... And speaking of 'treasures,' there seems to have been a highway closure with a 7-hour delay today between myself and 'the goal'... once again, it may have been a Good thing that my glass was only half-full, and I couldn't leave yet; I'll get there... I just know it.

I really do believe that there should be a little something for everybody... all the boys and girls... and the fishes in the deep blue sea... ...and so, in a whole 'nother kind of Spirit(s), most likely... "This One's for you, Boo..." Lololol... I mean, Ho... ho... ho... for realz, yo'...

And now, I have one more Xmas message, before I 'duck out' for a while... I have the night off tonight, and it's a Good thing... I have some 'baking' to do... I'll be back; in the meantime, please do watch this one all the way through. It's well worth the time, just for the laughs...

You say you've got Rebel flags, banjos, and 'Yosemite Sam' mudflaps...? Like I said, 'A little sumpin' for everybody, I guess...' Can I interest you in a bonus jug of herbal 'tonic?' I'm pretty sure you could stand a shot... Come on over, and sit a 'spell'... neighbor... ...and be careful what you wish for; that's what I heard... Happy holidays... Nope... nothing like a little bit of music to set the 'mood'... with the 'stars,' no less... Here's to you... back at you... The 'truth' is... You're doing a Great job. Merry Christ-mas... ...and especially Jimmy Page. Really.

So... this is Christ-mas... I just wanted to stop here for a minute, and do a little bit of 'reflecting' on the Day, before it 'officially' ends; to begin with, I did want to say 'thank you' one more time, to the 'Good Xmas Spirit' in general, for having filled my own days with Wonder, and wonderful memories, again. For instance, let's see... Brian Adams, 1984... well, that was a pretty special year, for me... as a matter of fact, I go back there quite often. I still feel 'at home' there, you know... I remember Christ-mas... We don't really 'exchange gifts' anymore, because... we haven't been able to afford it for so long that we just kind of 'phased it out,' I guess, and never looked back; what I did, instead, was to stuff some pretty hefty stockings for the kids, with candy, because kids miss out on all of the good 'candy holidays' when they grow up... and I made some cookies. Subsequently, I put on my Christ-mas 'mystery play' with Gingerbread Mr. Bill and Snowman Sluggo (I used some blue frosting); it was fun. Otherwise, nobody really seemed to care, except me... and I didn't even keep any candy. In retrospect, I probably should have... And then, I tried to remember to be grateful that I didn't have to ask for a stick for Christ-mas, for any of the reasons that one might need one... and I tried to remember to ask that there not be any kids anywhere that need a stick for Christ-mas. What I would like is a nice, big-gish stone, I think... silver, in color... Because, more than anything else on Christ-mas, this is what I remember... That I do believe in miracles... they happen every day. Some days, they come in small packages... and expand, like that luggage I was telling you about. Lolol... And that, believe it or not, is the Real message of Christ-mas... When something is 'born,' it is small... it is 'humble,'- barely noticed, sometimes, there under the stars... but with it, is born a Destiny,- and sometimes, that 'Destiny' changes the World... It just needs a little bit of time to Expand... And, to any of you who are reading, that have anything at all to say... I beg you to say it. For better or worse, my friends... these are the days. All you have to do is say, as Samuel did, "Here I am..." But you have to say it... with 'feeling'... Merry, merry Christ-mas to You, All... may your Future be blessed with all of the Gifts of the Past... These are old 'greeting' cards from Germany... interesting, don't you think? Now, about the 'reason for the season'... Lolol... Kind of a strange little holiday, after all... when you stop to remember 'Christ-mas'... I laughed... I cried... I went back to work.

Under the mistletoe... I told you it's part of the 'reason for the season,' didn't I? It is... in another story... The god of light, joy, purity, beauty, innocence, and reconciliation. Son of Odin and Frigg, he was loved by both gods and men and was considered to be the best of the gods. He had a good character, was friendly, wise and eloquent, although he had little power. His wife was Nanna daughter of Nep, and their son was Forseti, the god of justice. Balder's hall was Breidablik ("broad splendor").
Most of the stories about Balder concern his death. He had been dreaming about his death, so Frigg extracted an oath from every creature, object and force in nature (snakes, metals, diseases, poisons, fire, etc.) that they would never harm Balder. All agreed that none of their kind would ever hurt or assist in hurting Balder. Thinking him invincible, the gods enjoyed themselves thereafter by using Balder as a target for knife-throwing and archery.
The malicious trickster, Loki, was jealous of Balder. He changed his appearance and asked Frigg if there was absolutely nothing that could harm the god of light. Frigg, suspecting nothing, answered that there was just one thing: a small tree in the west that was called mistletoe. She had thought it was too small to ask for an oath. Loki immediately left for the west and returned with the mistletoe. He tricked Balder's blind twin brother Hod into throwing a mistletoe fig (dart) at Balder. Not knowing what he did, Hod threw the fig, guided by Loki's aim. Pierced through the heart, Balder fell dead.
While the gods were lamenting Balder's death, Odin sent his other son Hermod to Hel, the goddess of death, to plead for Balder's return. Hel agreed to send Balder back to the land of the living on one condition: everything in the world, dead or alive, must weep for him. And everything wept, except for Loki, who had disguised himself as the witch Thokk. And so Balder had to remain in the underworld.
The others took the dead god, dressed him in crimson cloth, and placed him on a funeral pyre aboard his ship Ringhorn, which passed for the largest in the world. Beside him they lay the body of his wife Nanna, who had died of a broken heart. Balder's horse and his treasures were also placed on the ship. The pyre was set on fire and the ship was sent to sea by the giantess Hyrrokin.
Loki did not escape punishment for his crime and Hod was put to death by Vali, son of Odin and Rind. Vali had been born for just that purpose. After the final conflict (Ragnarok), when a new world arises from its ashes, both Balder and Hod will be reborn.
In some versions it was his mother who had these disturbing dreams about his death. www.pantheon.org/articles/b/balder.htmlAnd, so... the kiss, under the mistletoe... Bittersweet, don't you think...? And one more, just for 'spice'...

Time is short for me here tonight, since I took some time this evening to update my employment registry; I see that there is an 'immediate need' for somebody like me... maybe I can be the one, and the truth is, I look forward to the changes. I enjoy the work that I do, but the pay is (in the place that I've chosen to employ my skills, currently) is quite low, and I really prefer the thought of doing the same job for the same people, without the 'institution,' if you know what I mean. Life really should include a certain 'quality,' which continues to make it worth 'living,' you know? And at certain points in life, that 'quality' becomes somewhat harder to identify, or find at all... I think we've all been there, and if not... you will. Labor is a wonderful thing, when it is satisfying for both the laborer and the employer... and, it makes a wonderful correlation for another kind of 'labor' relationship that we might find ourselves in, here... we labor for our physical well-being in this place, and on another level, the act of 'labor' is equally important to the intellectual and spiritual well-being of a man, and must be included in any serious exploration of the Alchemical 'arts,' for it is most certainly 'work,'- a 'Great Work,' if not a 'strange work,' and indeed, 'woman's work.' The really 'good news' concerning our labor here is this... The last will be first...Or, in other words, those that choose to enter (seriously) into this 'field of endeavor,' or 'labor of love,' if you will, will be rewarded just as generously as those that have made it the endeavor and study of a lifetime, because... the natural laws, or principles, that make it 'pay off' for the latter, work just the same for the former. If you 'succeed,' you succeed... and your success will not be 'pro-rated'... lolol... And so, I look forward to an amendment of my labors, so to speak, in order to enjoy a more full harvest, when my labors are done... even if I didn't get it 'figured out' until 'late in the game'... And let that be a lesson to you... if not me...

Oh, and about that 'caffeine underwear'... I just wanted to say that the most likely reason that they weren't a success was the fact that they weren't 'super absorbent,' if you know what I mean... Let's see those grown men cry, now... Lololol... At any rate, the thing about dancing around all Catti-like, is really no joke... And... I've got ears... No, really. I've been waiting for this... 'The Happy Cat(ti) Dance,' for realz... Remember that little animated gif? Lololol... I always loved that one. I can see it now... Maybe I should get out my special underwear... I'm really not kidding...

Still 'Burning Bright,' friends... Perfect. Anyway, I just wanted to make a couple of quick comments this evening, in response to some of your earlier 'musings'... lol... As to the 'Paul McCartney' vs 'John Lennon' debate, I'd just like to say this,- John Lennon is dead, and we're not even sure that Paul McCartney is Paul McCartney, eh? So, under the circumstances, I don't really understand the relevance of the question... personally, I'd like to see a vote on 'Billy Shears' vs 'Son of Schmilsson.' If you see what I mean... Baa baa blacksheep, Have you any wool? Yes, sir... yes, sir... Three bags full... One for the Master, one for the Dame, And one for the little boy That drives me insane...
Lololol... darn that Billy Shears... And, dude... if you're really interested in knowing just which girls in your neighborhood are on the 'naughty list'... it's simple enough to figure out... They got 'Twister' mats... and Skittles... You hardly need to be a 'rocket scientist' to figure that one out... Lololol...

Well, I wasn't sure whether or not I wanted to post tonight, since I've had some things on my mind that bear... due consideration, but under the circumstances, I think I'll go ahead and begin that little talk that I've been meaning to have with you. It seems that the 'little voices' of protest are becoming louder... lol... I can appreciate the humor, to a certain point, and then, I can only say to you, all Be not deceived, for 'God' is not mocked...Which is to say that, where Natural Law is concerned, there is a bottom line... And you can only ignore it for so long... a time, and times, and half-a-time, let's say. Oh, I just wanted to let you know that I almost posted that tune last night, but thought better of it for some reason... maybe it's time after all... Sweet... So, are you ready for that 'big adventure'...? It's a good thing the price of gasoline went down, isn't it, Mr Bill...? We can bare-ly afford to have adventures, as it is... Mr Sluggo says there's no such thing as a free lunch,- but he's willing to let me have a knuckle sandwich on hot dog buns... at a special discount for girl scouts. Better for groups...

So... I got your 'call'... Thanks. I guess I needed that... Anyway, I'm going to edit this one just for now, since I like the numbers, and not necessarily to repeat the 'message;' I really don't need to repeat that one. I'll tell you something, though... I was willing to let it all ride, right up until the day that I got the 'George Carlin' speech. Do you know what the 'George Carlin' speech is? That's the one where they 'educate' you to the fact that George Carlin (American comedy icon that he is) and his 'partner' decided that they didn't need to get married to prove their love for each other, and remained together, without legal 'ties,' for the remainder of their lives, only bothering to make it 'legal' just before he died, evidently, since they really did mean to involve the 'transfer of worldly goods,'- they were just making a 'statement.' And I can respect that... if his 'partner' can... but, that's not what I was hoping for. And they knew that... and they even said the 'M' word (among the many 'MM' words), going so far as to advise others on the desirability of a good 'wife' at one point... I remember it well... they were all about dropping 'goodies' down somebody's chimney... But not mine. It would appear that I have no future... In retrospect, I can't really be sorry... I seem to have been more on the order of a 'diversion.' Something like a big fishing trip, I suppose... I hope they come out with a 'real trophy,'- something about 400 pounds should do it... I also found that on 'google,' but you don't want to see it... And you're right, of course... we're on the very brink of a brand new year, and there's still a road ahead of me to walk,- I guess I'll take the 'high road'... they've got the 'low road' covered... Hello, boys... Oh... and one more thing, before I consign that one to the 'locker'... do you want to know why I bought the dress? I wasn't even thinking about a dress, you know... it just showed up that day... and it was exactly my size... and it was beautiful... and I never, ever got a 'dress,' you know, and I just thought that before it was all just history, I wanted to have a 'dress' of my own... just once... even if I haven't quite had the heart to put it on yet. I'm going to get some boots... and then, someday, I'll try it on... I didn't think it was too much to ask. And it is really, really pretty... I said 'thank you'... anyway... It was just a dream. We all have one... The rooster says it's time to wake up...

So... Happy New Year... I've just been sitting here in my room, soaking up the 'good juju,' so to speak... listening to my local radio station. They just played Deep Purple's "My Woman from Tokyo," which rocks... hard... and I was thinking to myself (more or less), "That's right... Godzirra... lol... she's radioactive'... lolol..." And I was just kind of groovin' there, by my self and all, when Captain Dave called in from the 'psycho ward' to make a few loving remarks in regard to his (obviously poor) wife, which I just had to respond to... Dear Captain Dave... Happy New Year to you... I hope you can find some resolve... I mean, I hope your resolutions are worthy... I mean, I hope you can find some resolution... Anyway, I just wanted to say... you know, dude, if whatever it is that you are doing is working only half as well as what it is that I am doing (or not doing, as the case may be), you'd be a satisfied man. I can see that you're not... Would you like to borrow my deodorant? Maybe you could lay off the shower tomorrow... the water is affecting your brain... You know, I'm pretty well satisfied with things as they are... all things considered. There is one outstanding flaw that needs to be corrected for, and with some good insurance, I can take care of that; otherwise, every part is 'stock,' and its not only in good running order, it's... a highway star... Built for the long run... and the really 'good news' is that it doesn't take a lot of maintenance. Some things were just built right... and if it ain't broke... don't keep trying to 'fix it.' On the other hand, a nice coat of wax never hurt, either... Yours True-ly, Nobody's wife... I do want to take the opportunity to say 'Happy New Year' to everyone in general, and to let you know that with the passing of this year, we let pass that which would tend to bind us to the past, and let us welcome, with open arms, and open hearts, the Magical possibilities that this new year brings... Ask for it... expect it... Bring it. I wish you all the best, and I hope that you will join me at midnight for a short toast to a Wonderful future, built on the level... And 21 guns makes 'Blackjack'... Boom, baby...

Well, one more post before the 'turn of the year,' and wouldn't you know it...? It's post number 992, which is 9-11 also, which is also the alleged date given for the 'true' birth date of the man known as Jesus, or the Christ... Well, well... Now, what I wanted to say mostly is that I haven't posted much tonight, because I need my time for 'reflection,' too... and it's not about the 'messenger,' it's about the 'message'... and I have one... and I'm going to give it, whether it's popular or not, for better or worse, and whatever it's worth, and maybe... someone else will find some treasure of their own there, too. I hope so... and maybe... we can solve this 'mystery' together,- which would be really Great. I mean that... we are all in this together, ultimately, and it has to be 'All for One, and One for All.' Otherwise, it's no kind of 'plan,' if you ask me... You know, about that 'inherent perfection'... alchemical principles tell us that the tendency of all metals is ultimately to become gold... to reach a state of 'perfection.' Under 'natural' circumstances, that may take a long, long time... too long for you to prove out, to be sure... but it happens. Alchemical science provides the means of shortening that time span, to make the process seem 'miraculous,' because it happened within your conscious framework of time... you see? I hope so... It's almost time to 'pop that cork' on my bubbles... and I'm not looking back... only ahead... and up... because, for me, there's nowhere else to go... Thank you, 'Tom Collins,' especially for such an agreeable morning 'visit'... I do look forward to it... again. Happy New Year... and cheers... I love you, too... all of you...
