The next card in our deck is really number 13, not 14... so I suppose we should make a short stop there, at least. I don't care to 'dwell' on this one; although, it is a necessary part of the process, for all things... dissolution... death. That it is the end of one sort of existence, and the beginning of yet another, I have no doubt; the nature of that succeeding phase, or nature, of 'existence', I cannot know. Unless I had been there... Or somewhere like that... This version of the card seems to be preferred over the older version, which featured a bony, skeletal 'reaper' wielding a scythe, in the setting sun... ready to mow you down, without 'respect'... like a little green combine... lolol... Oh, dear... there goes Keith Richard with "We Don't Talk Anymore"... how do you like that? Totally random... Just weird. Just sayin'... Truth can be so much stranger than fiction, and I wasn't the first one to think so, obviously... somebody else more 'credible' made a similar statement, once, if memory serves... and I've also heard it said that Art only imitates Life, so that the 'fantastic' is really possible, and certainly happens. And that is the truth... But, according to our 'principles' it is not the 'fantastic' that we are seeking, but the wonderful... more of a 'brown dirt cowboy', maybe... a 'wrangler'... and that's interesting, too... all of which which has to do with our card, I suppose, after all... According to the 'principles' of the Dionysian Artificers, symmetry in building was one of the keys to a 'balanced' society, and world, in general... that the 'fantastic' in public displays and buildings tended to 'degenerate' or 'unbalance' the population in general. Well... that may be one very good reason for the lengths to which the ancient masons went to produce such beautiful, and symmetrical, buildings and edifices. They said that there was a kind of 'magic' within the architecture, itself... and, looking at the ancient ruins, and what is left of their labor, it would really seem that that is also True. They were rather purposeful in their Work, it would seem... And, here I was, thinking I didn't need my reading glasses, after all. I think I fixed it... I put my glasses back on. So, 'Death' is pictured in the first card as one of the 'apocalyptic (revelation-time, or revealing) Riders', or in the way that we might conceive them to be, I suppose. About this rider, we see that he rides a white, and rather 'terrible'-looking horse. Which should be echoing some of our earlier posts, in regard to Odin, and Rennes-le-Chateau... "By the cross and this horse of God, I complete the D(a)emon at midday (midi)..." A riddle certainly, but if this represents the 'terrible horse' of 'God', then, the author would find some 'completion' (symbolized by the number 9) in, or through, 'Death'. And, while 'death' is a certain fact of the natural process which also brings the opportunity for 'regeneration', it is also used in a more abstract, or symbolic, sense to represent that state of 'transition', and 'transmutation', from one 'essence' or 'level of existence' to another, which is the goal of the Initiate. And the number 9 is also symbolic of the 'physical' existence,- the implications of 'completion' and 'physical existence' that are associated with the 'terrible horse' and Death would seem to be fairly self-evident. "To sleep... perchance, to dream", maybe... of paradise... It's just another perspective, of course... I love riddles... too... The rider bears the standard of the Mystic Rose... an Initiate, surely, at least, of the Brotherhood of the Rose... and Cross... Maybe. Which would bring us to our number 14... Remember that there is a 'door of possibility' ahead of the rider, represented by the two pillars that frame the Rising Sun... I had just a couple of other notes in regard to our 'number 13', before we go on... the first has to do with the white rose. You see that the white Mystic Rose is also portrayed in the earlier card that is used to symbolize 'Death'... in this card, it is growing on a vine, blossoming out of the same black earth that is being used to 'plant' our king, and another one,- a son, maybe... upon whose head the Reaper's heel is definitely placed. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.Genesis 3:15 In the earlier card, 'Death' is shown as it was... a necessary part of the cycle of Life, that ended in a 'planting'... and 'Death' came to All. Notice that the 'body' is not represented by a 'corpse', as you might expect it to be, but in 'severed parts', which are scattered throughout the 'earth'... immediately, this echoes the story of Osiris, for me; a king whose corpse was dismembered and scattered, as well, according to the tradition of the Mysteries. That the 'vine' upon which this 'white rose' should bloom is growing within this particular 'field' is likely pointed... Unfortunately for the king, and those others, 'Death' had no 'recourse'... but there was a seeming turn-around in the situation. In the newer version, the white rose is seen to have been taken up, as a standard... it is being 'carried forward' by the very 'Death' that was an 'end' for the king, and as I said, rather than the 'setting sun' of the 'end of life', we see on the horizon, the 'rising sun/son'... and the dawn of a new day... just ahead. The other point that I would like to make is that in our story of 'Alice' we find the same white roses, growing on 'trees' in the Garden of the Queen of Hearts. She had them all painted over, red, or else... but why would she do that? So that no-one would see the 'White Rose' blooming, right in front of them...? And, of course, the 'Red Rose' is represented in the symbolism of the 'Rosicrucians'... I find such interesting parallels in the story of our 'hero', Alice... over and over, really... I thought this was nice... the roses, and All.. And here... Disney places a 'white rose' in the 'Garden of Talking Flowers'... Well, the point is that the White Mystic Rose seems to have much to do with the situation at hand...

Now, do you know what 7 X 2 is...? It's fourteen... And, 14 seems to occur particularly often, in regard to the Rosicrucians... or, the 'Brotherhood of the Rose and Cross'... The Golden and Rosy Cross, if you will... And I thought that was interesting for several reasons. First, it is said that the figure of CRC (Christian Rosenkreutz) was knighted in 1414... the Brotherhood was established in 1459, and the "Fama Fraternatis" first appeared in print in the year 1614. There are 14 chapters in the document known as the "Confessio"... Now, how do we connect this new symbol of the 'Rose and Cross' with our previous card of 'Death'... and the 'Rider of the Apocalypse(Revealing/Revelation)'? Like this... ...the true Rosicrucian Brotherhood consisted of a limited number of highly developed adepts, or initiates, those of the higher degrees no longer being subject to the laws of mortality; candidates were accepted into the Order only after long periods of probation; adepts possessed and knew the secret of the Philosopher's Stone and knew the process of transmuting the base metals into gold, but taught that these were only allegorical terms concealing the true mystery of human regeneration through the transmutation of the 'base elements' of man's lower nature into the 'gold' of intellectual and spiritual realization. According to this theory, those who have sought to record the events of importance in connection with the Rosicrucian controversy have invariably failed because they approached their subject from a purely physical or materialistic angle.Quote from "The Secret Teaching of All Ages" In other words, the 'Brotherhood of the Rosy Cross' were very much interested in 'raising' the 'Adam'... on all levels... They were alchemists. Of the very highest Order. And that is very interesting... Indeed. In fact, it is said that my old 'friend', Thomas Vaughan, who wrote under the pen-name of Eugenius Philalethes (and that's interesting, too), was a member of this mysterious 'brotherhood', and I have quoted some of his works on other threads here on the forum. It may be a good time to refer back to some of them... Vaughan was unusual amongst alchemists of the time in that he worked closely with his wife Rebecca Vaughan. He was a self-described member of the "Society of Unknown Philosophers", and was responsible for translating into English in 1652 the Fama Fraternitatis Rosae Crucis, an anonymous Rosicrucian manifesto first published in 1614 in Kassel.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Vaughan_%28philosopher%29

Let me show you something... From Thomas Vauhan's "Aula Lucis": Suffer me then at the present to stand your censer and exhale that incense which your own hands have put in. I dare not say this is revelation, not can I boast with the prodigious artist you read of that I have lived three years "in the realm of light." It is enough that I have light, as the King of Persia had his Bride of the Sun; and truly, I think it happiness to have seen that candle lodged which our fathers judged to be wandering light, a light seeking habitation. But I grow absurd. I speak as if I would instruct you. Now — methinks — you ask me: Who reads this? It is I, Sir, that read the tactics here to Hannibal and teach him to break rocks with vinacre. I am indeed somewhat pedantic in this but the liberty you are still pleased to allow me has carried me beyond my cue. It is trespass you know that's very ordinary with me and some junior colleagues. Not can I omit those verses which you have been sometimes pleased to apply to this forwardness of mine.
Such was the steed in Grecian poets famed, Proud Cyllarus, by Spartan Pollux tamed; Such courses bore to fight the god of Thrace And such Achilles, was thy warlike race.
It is my opinion, Sir, that truth cannot be urged with too much spirit, so that I have not sinned here as to the thing itself, for the danger's only in your person. I am afraid my boldness has been such I may be thought to fall short of that reverence which I owe you. This is indeed which I dare call a sin, and I am so far from it that it is my private wonder how I came to think of it. Suffer me then to be impertinent for once and give me leave to repent of an humour which I am confident you place not among my faults but among your own indulgences. www.alchemywebsite.com/aula_lucis.htmlUnderstand me if you can, for I have told you an honest truth. I write books, as the old Roman planted trees, for the glory of God and the benefit of posterity. It is my design to make over my reputation to a better age, for in this I would not enjoy it, because I know not any from whom I would receive it. And here you see how ambitious I am grown; but if you judge the humour amiss tell me not of it, less I should laugh at you. I look indeed a step further than your lives, and if you think I may die before you I would have you know it is the way to go beyond you. To be short — if you attempt this discourse, you do it without my advice, for it is not fitted to your fortunes. There is a white magic this book is enchanted withal: it is an adventure for Knights of the Sun, and the errants of this time may not finish it?Knights of the Sun... or Golden Stone, maybe...? It will be questioned perhaps by the envious to what purpose these sheets are prostituted, and especially that drug wrapped in them — the Philosopher's Stone. To these it is answered by Solomon in Ecclesiastes III,5: "There is a time to cast away stones." And truly — I must confess — I cast away this Stone, for I misplace it. I contribute that to the fabric which the builders in all ages have refused. But less I seem to act sine proposito, I must tell you I do it not for this generation, for they are as far from fire as the author is from smoke... For a generation to come, then...

To begin my 'journaling' for this morning, I would like to make a short addition to the notes in the post above in regard to the 'king' and his 'son' that have 'mowed down' by 'Death'... with the 'setting sun' only, before them... This same symbolism is used to describe one stage of the 'alchemical process' that is described in the most rare alchemical tract, "The Book of Lambspring". The 'son' with his 'guide'... Here is an old father of Israel, Who has an only Son, A Son whom he loves with all his heart. With sorrow he prescribes sorrow to him. He commits him to a guide, Who is to conduct him whithersoever he will. The Guide addresses the Son in these words: Come hither! I will conduct thee everywhere, To the summit of the loftiest mountain, That thou mayest understand all wisdom, That thou mayest behold the greatness of the earth, and of the sea, And thence derive true pleasure. I will bear thee through the air To the gates of highest heaven. The Son hearkened to the words of the Guide, And ascended upward with him; There saw he the heavenly throne, That was beyond measure glorious. When he had beheld these things, He remembered his Father with sighing, Pitied the great sorrow of his Father, And said: I will return to his breast. FIGURE XI. THE FATHER AND THE SON HAVE LINKED THEIR HANDS WITH THOSE OF THE GUIDE: KNOW THAT THE THREE ARE BODY, SOUL, AND SPIRIT. Says the Son to the Guide: I will go down to my Father, For he cannot live without me. He sighs and calls aloud for me. And the Guide makes answer to the Son: I will not let thee go alone; From thy Father's bosom I brought thee forth, I will also take thee back again, That he may rejoice again and live. This strength will we give unto him. So both arose without delay, And returned to the Father's house. When the Father saw his Son coming, He cried aloud, and said:—(shown above) FIGURE XII. ANOTHER MOUNTAIN OF INDIA LIES IN THE VESSEL, WHICH THE SPIRIT AND THE SOUL— THAT IS, THE SON AND THE GUIDE—HAVE CLIMBED. Now, that looks familiar... indeed... As an alchemical process, it is very much a 'mirror' of the one that I showed you in the post above, which was 'symbolized' or 'pictured' as a lion devouring a phoenix... with the body of a serpent, twisted into the symbol given for infinity,- said to represent the Ouraboros... Interesting... My Son, I was dead without thee, And lived in great danger of my life. I revive at thy return, And it fills my breast with joy. But when the Son entered the Father's house, The Father took him to his heart, And swallowed him out of excessive joy, And that with his own mouth.www.sacred-texts.com/alc/hm1/hm113.htmPuzzling symbolism, isn't it? And yet, this little tract is said to contain within it the 'secret' of the Philosopher's Stone... This 'knowledge' is referred to in many places as a 'birthright, and an inheritance,' which is appropriate to the Father/Son relationship that is used to illustrate these 'truths'... "Tumbling Dice"... The cubes that compose our 'dice' are also important symbols... Interestingly, this 'illustration' is titled, "Chance is not the same for All". The total of the numbers shown on the three die/cubes are 18... or, 6, three times... and that reduces to 9, which is a familiar number, relating to 'destiny'... if not 'chance'... And I almost forgot to add that the Rose was accepted by the Greeks as the symbol of 'sunrise'... or, the coming of the Dawn... which is also represented as being 'announced' by the symbol of Abraxas... This is a Rosicrucian alchemical symbol, which should reveal a few things... This figure, or the central portion of it, at least, bears a very great resemblance to the 'Hieroglyphic Monad' of Sir John Dee, which we have seen previously... Here, it shown within the 'Kosmic Egg', or Omphalos... and this, set between two pillars, with the sun and the moon on either side... Another 'rendering'... The first figure shows the 'monad' crowned with the Rose and the Lily, which seem to sprout from it... the 'Rose of Sharon' and the 'Lily of the Valley' (of the 'Shadow of Death', I think, since lilies are traditionally placed at the sites of burials and become symbolic of death), and at its base is the pyramid- or triangular-shaped 'mountain', with which we have become somewhat familiar... even if it has so far been seen mostly at a distance. It is enclosed within four concentric 'rings', which become 'wheels within wheels'... so to speak... And then, if you count the 'ring' that is created within the four, by the 'serpent' or 'dragon' swallowing its own tail, you have five... a 'fifth element', really... since that is what the first four circles represent. The four elements, the four directions, the four seasons, the four 'extensions' of the body (hands and feet, two each, which might rightly be considered as 'tools' or 'elements' of 'creation' on a physical level). Creating this fifth circle should allow us to 'level up', then, from the four elements, and add a new 'dimension' to the process... Mostly... which should put our heads squarely in... the clouds. No, really... Clouds carry an important symbolism, and especially with the Rosicrucians... which rose Joni holds in her hand, in the illustration above... coincidentally... I understand that they, also, are symbols of 'revelation', interestingly... as well as a certain 'concealment'...

In reference to these 'clouds', the "Confession Fraternitatis" has this to say: A thousand times the unworthy may clamour, a thousand times they may present themselves, yet God hath commanded our ears that we should hear none of them, and hath so compassed us about with his clouds that unto us, His servants, no violence can be done; wherefore now no longer are we beheld by human eyes, unless they have received strength borrowed from the eagle.Strength... our card, which shows the opening and closing of the lion's mouth... and the eyes of the 'eagle' (mystic symbol of initiation), into which our Scorpion has transformed itself... which we also talked about in the posts previous, on this thread. Interesting parallels, don't you think...? Lolol... Here again, we see the familiar symbol of the 'Hieroglyphic Monad' within the pages of the most mysterious "Book of Abraham the Jew"... with certain interesting additions, as copied by Nicholas Flammel... Once again, I would point out the Black Sun, and the 'grail cup' or 'Horn of Plenty' that is associated with it... Considering the process that the 'Book' describes, the 'grail cup' is appropriate symbolism, I think. It is said of this cross that it is made of spiritual gold and that each Brother wears it upon his breast. It bears the alchemical symbols of salt, sulphur, and mercury; also a star of the planets; and around it are the four words FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, and PATIENCE. The double-headed eagle, or Phœnix, subtly foreshadows the ultimate androgynous state of the human creature. Rosicrucian alchemy was not concerned with metals alone. Man's own body was the alchemical laboratory, and none could reach Rosicrucian adeptship until he had performed the supreme experiment of transmutation by changing the base metals of ignorance into the pure gold of wisdom and understanding. Now, there is no doubt that the 'rose' is of importance, symbolically, but the word 'Rosicrucian' may carry a further significance... Doubt has always existed as to whether the name Rosicrucian came from the symbol of the rose and cross, or whether this was merely a blind to deceive the uninformed and further conceal the true meaning of the Order. Godfrey Higgins believes that the word Rosicrucian is not derived from the flower but from the word Ros, which means dew. It is also interesting to note that the word Ras means wisdom, while Rus is translated concealment. Doubtless all of these meanings have contributed to Rosicrucian symbolism.Psalms 133:3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. Proverbs 3:20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. Now, we know that the Rosicrucians are said to hold the secrets of Alchemy, in all its forms, and the alchemical 'processes' are typified by the 14th card of our Taro, or Rota, which shows us... Temperance... Here is a 'figure' that is pouring the 'essences' from one 'cup' or 'vessel' to another... with a look of patient knowing that the 'process' will be 'successful'. We now see two mountains in the background, on one side of the winged figure who is directing the 'operation', with the sun between them. The mountains act as 'pillars', once again, which seem to be 'doorways', or 'gates'... On the other side, two golden lilies, or iris... and the figure stands with one foot in the water and one foot on the earth/shore. I wonder if it's the same 'angel' of the 'revelation' of the Divine St. John...? And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,
3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.Chapter 10 Seven thunders... And some 'honey'...

There are other 'applications' for the word 'dew', of course... from the Prophet Isaiah, comes one of my favorites,- Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. 26:19 Mildly provocative, under the circumstances, wouldn't you say? Since we are riding out of the Kingdom of Death, symbolically, at least... And then, Daniel has something to say about this 'dew', as well... it appeared in a dream, once... Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth: 4:15 And again, in verse 23 of the fourth chapter: And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him... Seven times... and, of course, that reminds me of the 'cutting of an oak'... In 723, a Christian missionary named Winfrid cut down an oak tree sacred to the god Thor. This action is said to mark the beginning of the Christianization of the Germanic peoples...Interesting timing... Audioslave... and that's interesting, too... Well... I guess I'll start this update to my post over again. I had something nearly ready, in response to some of the great music this afternoon,- I had to restart my computer. I wonder if some of my other 'entries' actually posted? I wonder if it would matter, anyway... but I'm going ahead with this, again, because it's actually pretty good information, I think, and, like I said, it seemed 'appropriate'. The 'Coldplay' was truly stirring, and then we get this one... So, as I said, in response to that, I thought that I'd like to give you this little 'tidbit', which should prove to be quite 'shocking' for the 'monkeys'... and I'd be willing to bet that our 'Peter Gabe', and even Peter Gabriel, already knew this,- According to the ancient sages, the 'man' was never considered to have been descended from the apes, or 'monkeys'... do you know why? It is said by them that the monkey is the only creature that is incapable of being 'ensouled', and I find that 'fact' to be extremely interesting,- especially in light of the previous story that links the 'tempter' in the Garden to the... orangutan. You see, if the 'creature' that acted as the 'tempter' in this scenario was not 'ensouled' by nature (as represented by the 'monkey', and not in actual 'person' a monkey,- these are mysteries, after all, so you really are expected to 'read between the lines'), the hope of somehow 'gaining a soul' through the 'physical process' of 'DNA', via the 'woman' was obviously provocative for this 'creature', and they began to 'mine for gold' here... In the hopes of hitting the 'jackpot', I suppose. I think they're still working that 'angle'... And, I think you can see that there must be some 'truth' to that thought, about the monkeys and their lack of ability to 'grow' a soul; remember the story on the news not so long ago about the woman that had her face torn off by a monkey that had been a long-time pet and companion? With a monkey, all of that 'friendship' goes right out the window, as soon as a banana gets in the way... And, intellectually-speaking, monkeys are conceded to be 'clever' (which is, coincidentally, the same attribute that is shared by the 'Ahriman' spirit, according to Rudolf Steiner), but due to a basic lack of 'intelligence' in their actions, and a fun-house mirror resemblance to men, they are perceived to be 'funny', mostly. They do make us laugh... until one of them reaches over and grabs your face, of course. Or hits you with poop... again. Sorry, Derwood... I mean, Darwin. Blood' in all its various 'forms' and 'nuances' has also been a 'favorite' avenue of prospecting. Without the 'God gene' that would allow them to become 'ensouled' naturally (by Nature), there is no hope that they might give 'birth' to the 'God-man', so to speak... By 'hook', or by 'crook'... lolol... They, too, seek the Alchemical Fire... in order to be a 'man'... or more. Man-cub. And since we found our way back to the trees, I have another little tidbit for you... The 'forbidden fruit'... Well... what I believe is the True identity of it and the reason for it, anyway,- and that's almost as good, don't you think? I just wish I had someone to share it with... Surely, "the dice were loaded from the start..." And speaking of 'rolling bones'... and stones... I always liked this one, too... Now, about that apple... It wasn't. It was red, all right. And round. But 'apples' were never particularly 'forbidden' for any reason that I know of, but this fruit was. As a matter of fact, the true 'explanation' of the symbolism of this fruit was termed by the Cabiri "the forbidden secret". So... this looks like the one, all right. And the winner is... The pomegranate was the 'mystic fruit' of the most ancient Eleusinian rites, which having partaken of it, Proserpine (Kore) bound herself to the realms of Pluto (Hades), in the underworld for half the year, or six months. Manley Hall says that the "fruit here signifies the sensuous life which, once tasted, temporarily deprives man of immortality. Also, on account of its vast number of seeds the pomegranate was often employed to represent natural fecundity (which explains the presence of the pomegranate on the robes of our 'Empress')... Many Greek gods and goddesses are depicted holding the fruit or the flower of the pomegranate in their hands, evidently to signify that they were givers of life and plenty." This is a pomegranate tree, shown on this Assyrian seal... Now, let me show you something else... This is the fruit, and the flower... of the pomegranate. If I'm not mistaken, the flower looks very much like our 'mystic rose', don't you think? And, as a matter of fact, it actually might be. Let's go on with some of the other symbolism, beginning with our own 'High Priestess', who also carries the 'secret' of the pomegranate... As a matter of fact, the pillars that are represented here as the pillars of Solomon's temple, Jachin (God establishes) and Boaz (strength), feature pomegranate capitals... and it is said that by the order of Jehovah Himself, pomegranate blossoms were embroidered on the bottom of the High Priest's ephod. Yet another connection to our 'High Priestess', interestingly... so that our 'Hebrew' connection to these cards is strengthened again, by their symbolism. So, why would the bronze pillars of this most important temple feature the peculiar fruit of our 'mysteries'? Because they belong also to the Hebrew 'mysteries'... this is interesting, I think: Jacob Bryant in his Ancient Mythology notes that the ancients recognized in this fruit an appropriate emblem of the Ark of the Deluge, which contained the seeds of the new human race. Among the ancient Mysteries the pomegranate was also considered to be a divine symbol of such peculiar significance that its true explanation could not be divulged. That short quote was from "The Secret Teachings of All Ages" by Manly P. Hall. Now, if we look at only those short 'tidbits' regarding the pomegranate, I think that we can begin to draw some fair conclusions about its 'true' meaning... part of the 'mystery' that it illustrates has to do with spending 'half' of your life 'hidden' in the 'underworld', somehow, and then coming to 'life' again, in the spring (with a specific female figure, of a specific 'nature' being the particular subject of this aspect of the 'myth')... which also has something further to do with the 'salvation' of a great number of people by means of having been 'hidden' within a certain type of 'ark', and the bringing forth from it a 'new human race'... Interestingly, pomegranates have a leathery kind of 'skin', and it is said that the 'ark' was covered with the hide of a unicorn,- which must be kind of leathery, wouldn't you think? and I can make a further connection with the subjects of my 'thesis' by employing all of this symbolism, just as it is given. For instance, the flesh and the juice of the pomegranate bear a great resemblance to blood, if you ask me, which tends to reinforce the fruit's connection with the 'human' aspect of the mystery... and it is said that when Adam and Eve partook of this 'forbidden fruit', that they became truly 'human', by losing their bodies of 'light', and putting on these 'coats of skin'... and blood. And, apart from all of that, the five-pointed 'star' that appears in the center of the pomegranate makes it a special symbol of Venus... You see...? I think we learned something today... It wasn't an apple. And it wasn't a snake. But it might have been a monkey-wrench... in the garden... in the hands of Colonel Mustard... The 'right tools for the job'... And, just coincidentally, in regard to the number 14 of our 'Temperance' card, we find this, in relation to our 'pomegranate'... from the "Tarot of the Bohemians",- The hieroglyphic sense of the Nun is the offspring of the female; a son, a fruit of any kind, all things produced. This letter has therefore become the image of the being produced or reflected, the sign of individual and corporeal existence.
As a final it is the sign of augmentation ן (Nun as a final), and gives to the word which receives it all the individual extension of which the thing expressed is susceptible.
Astronomically the Nun corresponds with the zodiacal sign of the Scorpion.
In short the Nun expresses the production of any combination, the result of the action of the ascending or creative forces, and of the descending or destructive forces figured by the star of Solomon...
The genius of the Sun pours the fluid of Life from a golden vase into a silver one.
This essence passes from one vase to the other without one drop being spilt.
The fourteenth card represents the young girl whom we have already seen in the 11th arcanum, and whom we shall see again in the 17th.
The vital current placed upon her head in the 11th arcanum here passes from one vase into another, but will spread further in the 17th arcanum.
The fourteenth card of the Tarot shows us the fluid, hitherto carefully preserved, now freely circulated in nature.
1. Combination of active and passive fluids. Entry of Spirit into Matter, and reaction of Matter upon the Spirit--The symbol of the 'dot and circle' that the figure wears on her/its head (which should indicate that it has to do with the 'thoughts' or 'mental processes' or 'mind', somehow) is a particular symbol for God and Creation, which is quite Qabbalistic in nature. They say also that the three greatest Qabbalistic books are the Sefer ha Zohar, the Sefer Yetzirah, and the book of the Revelations of St John the Divine. So many connections... And, speaking of 'connections' and/or 'parallels', you really need to listen to this video recording,- you all know about the 'Stairway to Heaven' thing, whereby that song sounds just like another song, right? Well, here is Jimmy Page involved with yet another song, that sounds like yet another song, but I'm not going to tell you which one yet. You listen to the band playing, and you tell me... I found this one while I was listening to this one, which I do want to play for you this morning, since it also seems appropriate to the subject matter of my journaling at this time. Not to mention, we've got Jimmy Page on the guitar... again... that boy sure gets around... I love Jimmy Page. Look at the way his jacket co-ordinates with his guitar,- a true artist... and I mean that. I just wanted to add a little bit of something in that regard this morning, as far as my notes on the 'monkey' and the 'man', and the 'soul'... but first... thank you. What a way to start the day... Dancing with balloons... it doesn't get much 'better' than that... Hay, there's a remix... And an extended version... at 6:14... Now, that's just pretty Great... So, as far as these 'theoretical' creatures that are the products of blending the DNA of a man/human with that of the 'monkey' or 'not-naturally-ensouled' creatures (of whatever type, but let's look at the possible 'reptile' or 'snake' connection again, since I think we can agree that reptiles display no 'soulish' tendencies, such as sympathy, faithfulness, honor, etc, in much the same manner as the monkey) go, these 'offspring' would be also 'soul-less', or let's just say 'not-naturally-ensouled', I assume, because that would account for the existence of the men in this world that appear to be 'soul-less'. And you know which ones I mean... those men among us that look like we do, but are not like us; they have no regard for life, or love, or honor, or faith. They kill with neither regard nor emotion; they steal without second thought; they destroy for the reaction; they lie without batting an eyelash; they despoil the earth, and its creatures, for profit. I like to think of these as the 'monkey men'... and of course, there is that hundredth monkey that I was telling you about,- that one figured out how to fling poop with a keyboard. Truly evolutionary... Now, part of the Qabbalistic Mystery tradition deals with the 'growing of souls', evidently... and placing 'souls' within 'artifcially grown' creatures that seem to look like men, which are referred to as 'golems'. Frodo, it seems, actually tried to 'ensoul' his own version of the 'golem', and it appears that he nearly succeeded, except that the creature's own desire overcame its ability to understand the reality of the situation, and it was 'destroyed', but not before it fulfilled its own part in the 'story'... for better or worse. And remember that, according to the Sefer Yetzirah, Abraham and Sarai, and their nephew, Lot, were 'making souls' in Haran. You might ask yourself why that would be necessary... but that seems sort of self-evident, too. If these 'creatures' that were 'made' with no 'natural soul', then they cannot be 'redeemed', or 'elevated', if you see what I mean... they are liable to destruction. These are the 'tares' that are spoken of, that look exactly like the wheat, but are... valueless... they are 'weeds' in the 'garden', just as Alice was accused of being. And they will be allowed to remain among the wheat, it is said, until the time of harvest, lest the wheat be destroyed along with its 'empty' counterfeits... And that's all very interesting, too, if you ask me... But who did, right...? Oh, yes... the 'identity' of our 'Mystery Song' from 1967... listen to the drumlines... It's Aerosmith's "Train Kept Rollin'"... Well, how do you like that...? And you thought it was going to be "Stairway to Heaven", didn't you? Let's take this version, at 10:00... Did you notice that at the beginning of the song, Jimmy says, "This is not yours, this is ours..." It is now. And I just thought that was interesting, too. You see, all of these thoughts have certainly been 'thought' before... like most melodies, I imagine. But not all 'melodies' become 'classics'... or even songs, really... in the same way that not all 'trains of thought' become 'Arks', or even take you anywhere, ultimately. Many of our 'thoughts' have similar 'roots' in historical thought, or general thought, to which we can each 'add' our own thoughts, or put our own 'spin' on them, so to speak, and come out with a song that sounds familiar, but is our really our own... And, we did get something like a "Ballroom Blitz" thrown in at the end of the 'Train' video for 'good measure'... I think I'm ready, Steve... We've got gloves and hats... I'm 'in'... So... How about some 'Gorillaz'...? With my thanks to the Youtube poster with the 'Parlophone' avatar... Now, about the number 10,- this number is said to stand in the place of 'God', and it is written in the Sefer Yetzirah this way... "10, and not 9... 10, and not 11..." One number is not as good as another, in this case, and do you know why? 10 is the only number that can 'communicate'... The 'word' came from the One... and nothing... And, it's just like I said,- "If you'll be the One, I'll be your Zero, and together we will make... binary code." It's funny, but... there is a very deep Truth there, really. The truth is that with a 1 and a 0, a 'Universal Language' can be created... a creative 'Word'... which applies to not only the 'human' mind, but 'artificial intelligence', and other, higher forms of 'language processors', as well, I'm sure... In fact, it creates a sort of a 'bridge' between 'worlds', you might say... You can't get something from Nothing, but you can make something with Nothing... A good trick if you can do it.

Well, after a 'quick' re-start, I suppose that I can add some notes to my journal this afternoon... to begin with, I should have been here sooner, but... I've been so tired. And when I open my computer, I can't hear the radio; it goes to static, and then I miss songs like these, but I'll have to sacrifice temporarily. Anyway, I do appreciate all the great music,- I listen all the time, too... when I can. And I've been reading... and thinking... I thought a lot about 'credibility', and what exactly that should mean, under the circumstances; all that I can give you in reply is that I always told the truth, and that there is, ultimately, 'corroborating evidence' for the things that I've put forward,- as 'in*credible' as it may seem. As far as my logic and reasoning go, I have the 'corroborating testimony' of my college professor (who bothered to write it down for me on my paper one week), that I possess excellent powers of reasoning and wonderfully logical thought processes, and so, that seems 'credible' enough to me. In spite of my occasional use of the internet 'tool', Wikipedia, for short (and quick) pieces of relevant information on a subject, I don't see how that should lessen my 'credibility' in your eyes... I mean, you all are the ones that turned the 'library' into an 'app'... Personally, I love books, and at one time, I enjoyed an extremely large personal library that contained a huge amount of books (with many books of nineteenth-century origin), that focused on religion, philosophy, poetry, history, and other such like works (including the complete collection of works by Edward Bulwer-Lytton) which were a wonderful resource for me, but much like the library at Alexandria, they are now gone... Still, that seems 'credible' enough to me... most of those books, most of you will never lay your eyes on, but I got to hold them in my hands, and study them. I use the 'tools' at hand, just like you do... hardly 'in*credible'. Am I not 'credible' because I'm not a 'real' person... I haven't walked in just about every pair of shoes you've got in the closet? You know I have... 'in*credible' as that may seem. Am I not 'credible' because I don't have thirty-three blogs and twitter accounts active, which keep me 'informed' and 'in tune' with the World? Not to mention really popular...? Of course, you can see that I am not, and so... that can't be very credible, I suppose. But I'll tell you what is 'credible', and that is the information that I've given you... regardless of the 'source' that I quoted in reference to the subject, and bearing in mind that you can certainly do some of your own 'spade work' if you care about these things,- all that I am trying to offer you here is my own 'thesis' or 'theory', maybe, of what these things mean, and specifically, what they should mean to me, and then further, what they will mean to the 'world' in general. That is no more than many of the rest of you are doing, and I don't find that to be so 'in*credible', either... so, I don't see why I shouldn't just keep posting along, and and see just where this 'road' might take me. You never know... I just saw a really cool house on wheels, on the television a couple of weeks ago. I hope it's not a 'brick house' on wheels,- nothing had better get in the way... lolol... For instance, in regard to those two trees as 'candlesticks' that I was referring to while we were 'discussing' the 'hanged man' card,- specifically, the version of the illustration shown by Papus in his "Tarot of the Bohemians"... I found some fairly 'credible' corroboration for my 'thoughts' about that in Manly P. Hall's "Secret Teachings of All Ages", in the chapter regarding the mysteries of the Wilderness Tabernacle of Moses. There, Hall tells us that that the great Candlestick, or lampstand, was of cast gold and consisted of six 'branched' arms on a central shaft, with 7 lamps positioned at the end of each arm and at the top of the central pole. The Candlestick was ornamented with 72 almonds, knops (knots), and flowers, and was believed to have weighed about a hundred pounds... Now, I just thought that was interesting... you remember about the number 72, and the number 7. And, from the description of it, the great Candlestick resembles nothing so much as a tree... with lights on it... Which reminds me of something else... And I'm glad that you played that tune by 'Imagine Dragons', because that reminded me of the 'dragon' that I saw in the sky one time, and how that story must have chipped away at my 'credibility', eh...? But, there is also 'corroborating testimony' for having seen such a thing as a 'dragon'... within the descriptions of the 'creatures' that were known to the philosophers and alchemical adepts as 'elementals'. I believe that those 'creatures' that are seen in the form of 'dragons' (and there are 'dragons' assigned to all of the elements,- especially popular are those inhabiting the air, fire, and water, but remember that 'dragons' are said keep their 'hoards' within caves in the earth, and so, they must inhabit the earth as well) which are said to be 'powerful' (as are the elementals said to be) and not particularly friendly to mankind, for the most part (as are the elementals said to be... at least, not any more), as well as able to manipulate events such as the weather (as are the elementals said to be). Now, it is also written that at one time, these 'elemental creatures' were visible to men... or, at least, more visible to men, or men of certain 'sympathetic' dispositions. This includes reports of sightings of gnomes, fairies, sea creatures like certain 'mer-maids' or Undines, etc. These creatures are not 'physical' in nature, and inhabit the 'essence' of the 'elements' that they 'represent'; I believe that the Hawaiian menehunes were earth elementals, and that the 'Lady Pele' as she is known, and has been known to present herself, is a 'Salamandar', or Fire elemental. Because these islands are still comparatively recent, geographically-speaking, these 'elementals' are still 'active' to a larger extent than they are in other, more humanly-populated areas (which includes just about the entire earth, now), but their activity has dwindled, as well. 'Pele' is an extremely powerful fire spirit, and 'her' influence is strong, as has been 'reported' by other 'witnesses', I understand. There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio... Speaking of which, I have a very interesting alchemical diagram that I want to show you... this is an engraving by de Bry, that is included in Robert Fludd's work, "Collectio Operum"... it is said to illustrate the philosophic principles of Fludd, and also the 'Brothers of the Rose Cross' which he is believed to have been connected. You see that at the center is an 'ape-man' holding a compass (two compasses, it says)... there is an explanation given for it, which we can add in a few minutes, but... the 'official explanation' seems to be somewhat 'contradictory', so we'll see if we can reconcile that. In the meantime, I would just like to say that, as far as I can tell, the operation known as "The Casting of the Molten Sea" has nothing to do with molting owls, or birds of any kind, for that matter... and "The Making of the Rose Diamond" cannot be accomplished with an 'Amiando Fandango'... if you know what I mean... A lump of coal can't hurt, though... if all else fails, you can fling it... Now, about the illustration... according to Hall: The de Bry diagram shown above is almost self-explanatory. Outside the circle of the starry heavens are the three fiery rings of the empyreum - the triple fire of the Supreme Creator - in which dwell the celestial creatures. Within those of the stars are those of the planets and elements. After the element of air comes the circle of the world (earth). The circles of animals is followed by the circle of plants, which, in turn is followed by the circle of the minerals. Then come various industries and in the center is a terrestrial globe with an ape-man sitting upon it, measuring a sphere with a pair of compasses. This little figure represents the animal creation. In the outer ring of fire, above is the sacred name of Jehovah surrounded by clouds. From these clouds issues a hand holding a chain.
Between the divine sphere and the lower world personified by the ape is the figure of a woman. It is to be specially noted that the female figure is merely holding the chain connecting her with the lower world, but the chain connecting her with the higher world ends in a shackle about her wrist. This female figure is capable of several interpretations...To begin with, there is already a 'circle' which represents the animal kingdom, which is included with the plants and minerals... that seems to be fairly forthright. But then, we are told that the 'ape-man' sitting 'on top of the world', as it were, represents the 'animal creation'. So... how can that be? Well, what if this 'ape-man', being evidently something of a 'hybrid' between the 'ape' and the 'man', doesn't belong in the 'circle of animals'... since he is more than an animal, now. And, more than that, even, he has taken his place 'at the top of the world' or 'terrestrial globe'... nevertheless, he is a representative of the 'animal creation'. Mildly provocative, don't you think...? He is 'using' (or attempting to use) two compasses to perform his measurements, which must mean something,- and the ape-man himself appears to be at the 'top' of a two-armed 'compass' that is 'encompassing' the other circles of creation, as far as the 'stars'. And that reminds me of something, too... How long wilt thou be dissolute in deliciousness, O wandering daughter? for the Lord hath created a new thing upon the earth: A WOMAN SHALL COMPASS A MAN.
How long wilt thou wander about, thou backsliding daughter? For Jehovah hath created a new thing on the earth, a woman shall encompass a man.Jeremiah 31:22 I suppose that's the reason that she is 'connected by the wrist' to the 'clouds'... she tends to wander, hither and thither... This way, she can't lose her way back home... That looks about right. And the rest... seems at least interesting, under the circumstances. And an ape-man... a new thing in the earth... Possibly representing a 'man' without a 'natural soul', such as the ape is said to be... Well, how do you like that? It's King Louie... Now, in regard to the 'dragons', I would just like to add that in Celtic mythology, dragons were symbolic of great magic and great power; in fact, their very presence could affect how 'magic' (energy, or 'the Force', if you like...) flowed through the land. They were envisioned as wingless creatures, more like 'worms' or 'water-serpents', and that as they traveled across the land, they created the 'ley-lines' or 'dragon-lines' which form a 'network' or 'web' over the earth, for the transmission of various forms of this telluric-sort of 'energy'; at intersecting points of these lines, it was believed that there was increased 'energy' level, so that, in truth, 'X' marks the spot. Lolol... Because of their association with 'power' the dragon was used to represent the Chieftan, or Emperor, as in China, where dragons may assume many animal-like forms, but most typically as a four-legged snake... more or less... Here, they also symbolize potent and auspicious powers, and exert particular control over water, such as rainfall, typhoons, and floods. Well, that seems fairly 'elemental' to me... we should get back to that subject sometime, since I know that Eliphas Levi had many interesting things to say about 'elementals', in his "History of Magic". And about 'telluric energy', or 'telluric currents', here is a short definition (from the you-know-where), just so that you can see the connections,- you can always find other sources of information on this, if you're interested... A telluric current (from Latin tellūs, "earth"), or Earth current, is an electric current which moves underground or through the sea. Telluric currents result from both natural causes and human activity, and the discrete currents interact in a complex pattern. The currents are extremely low frequency and travel over large areas at or near the surface of the Earth.
Telluric currents are phenomena observed in the Earth's crust and mantle. In September 1862, an experiment to specifically address Earth currents was carried out in the Munich Alps (Lamont, 1862). The currents are primarily geomagnetically induced currents, which are induced by changes in the outer part of the Earth's magnetic field, which are usually caused by interactions between the solar wind and the magnetosphere or solar radiation effects on the ionosphere. Telluric currents flow in the surface layers of the earth. The electric potential on the Earth's surface can be measured at different points, enabling the calculation of the magnitudes and directions of the telluric currents and hence the Earth's conductance. These currents are known to have diurnal characteristics wherein the general direction of flow is towards the sun. Telluric currents continuously move between the sunlit and shadowed sides of the earth, toward the equator on the side of the earth facing the sun (that is, during the day), and toward the poles on the night side of the planet.
Both telluric and magnetotelluric methods are used for exploring the structure beneath the Earth's surface (such as in industrial prospecting). For mineral exploration the targets are any subsurface structure with a distinguishable resistance in comparison to its surroundings. Uses include geothermal exploration, mining exploration, petroleum exploration, mapping of fault zones, ground water exploration and monitoring, investigation of magma chambers, and investigation of boundaries of tectonic plates. Earth batteries tap a useful low voltage current from Telluric currents, and were used for telegraph systems as far back as the 1840s.
In industrial prospecting activity that uses the telluric current method, electrodes are properly located on the ground to sense the voltage difference between locations caused by the oscillatory telluric currents. It is recognized that a low frequency window (LFW) exists when telluric currents pass through the earth's substrata. In the frequencies of the LFW, the earth acts as a conductor 'energy'...en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telluric_currentNow, that's just interesting, don't you think? Another thing about the 'woman',- you will notice that she has twelve stars surrounding her head, which should remind you of a similar 'woman' described in the book of the Revelations; and, since the elements of Water and Earth are noted directly beneath her, I would venture to say that she is standing with one foot on the earth, and one on the sea, so to speak... and because she is shown as 'shackled' by the wrist to Divinity, or 'God', you might say that she is a 'slave' of sorts... And, interestingly, I showed you the "Castle of the Slave" previously... The most spectacular Hellenistic site in Jordan is at Iraq Al-Amir, just west of modern-day Amman. The Qasr Al-Abd (Castle of the Slave) there is constructed of very large stones. The castle belonged to a governor of Ammon named Hyrcanus, a member of the influential Tobiad family. It was built in the late-second century BCE.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JordanA lioness and her cub... The structure is 124 feet long and 62 feet wide (72 by 36 royal or Egyptian cubits), making it exactly twice as long as it is wide, an “ideal” plan that has led researchers to regard it as a building of some special importance... members.bib-arch.org/publication.asp?PubID=BSBA&Volume=38&Issue=3&ArticleID=5&UserID=0Based on the monument’s elaborate design, decoration and the evidence from the ‘Iraq al Amir estate, Stephen Rosenberg, author of “‘Castle of the Slave’—Mystery Solved” in the May/June 2012 issue of Biblical Archaeology Review, proposes the ruin was actually the burial monument of the Tobiads, modeled after the mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
Other than Israel, no country has as many Biblical sites and associations as Jordan: Mount Nebo, from where Moses gazed at the Promised Land; Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John baptized Jesus; Lot’s Cave, where Lot and his daughters sought refuge after the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah; and many more.
...The building’s two-story exterior is adorned with statues and carvings of various animals, including lions, eagles and panthers. Depictions of such powerful, majestic animals are often found in funerary contexts in the ancient world (including the mausoleum at Halicarnassus) and likely provided Qasr al-Abd, the burial monument of the Tobiads, with similar symbolism and meaning.
To the north of the Tobiads’ Iraq al Amir estate are caves that were used to inter the family’s dead before the bones were finally deposited inside the mausoleum. The entrances to the caves are inscribed with the family name of the Tobiads.
Second, the ground floor of Qasr al-Abd is divided into small interior rooms that would have received little or no natural light. In contrast, the upper floor, which is only partially preserved, had an open roof and was surrounded by continuous rows of narrow pilasters that allowed plenty of light and fresh air to fill the upper rooms. The bottom floor may have been used as the family crypt of the Tobiads, while the upper floor was intended for feasts held in honor of the dead. Scholars believe the mausoleum at Halicarnassus functioned in a similar manner.
Finally, archaeologists have long known that Qasr al-Abd was surrounded by a small, man-made lake at the center of the Iraq al Amir estate built by the Tobiads. Rosenberg believes the lake was an integral part of the mausoleum’s complex symbolism and emphasized the ritual separation between the world of the dead and the world of the living. Such lakes were common features of the monumental display tombs of the Hellenistic world.
With its form of construction — the heavy base and the light upper floor, the extensive menagerie of lions, eagles and panthers, and the separation by water-it is clear that Qasr al-Abd functioned as the family mausoleum of the Tobiads.www.biblicalarchaeology.org/daily/biblical-sites-places/biblical-archaeology-sites/was-qasr-al-abd-modeled-after-the-mausoleum-at-halicarnassus/So, this 'family mausoleum' was constructed of very large (monolithic, perhaps) stones, and modeled after the 'seventh Wonder of the World'? That's pretty... special... I still have to consider this to be the very 'True', and very real, 'Grail Castle'... which means there's a story behind all of this... And that 'woman' has something to do with it... I just 'know' it... She's kind of 'attractive'... lolol... Blessed be Egypt, my people; and Assyria, the work of my hands; and Israel, mine inheritance...These words are from the book of the prophet Isiah, and they bear repeating. Do you understand? I've said it before, and I must say it again... before there was a 'Moses', there was 'God'... And there was Light.

So, I think that was a Good start to my 'journaling' this evening... and there are just a couple of further details that I could add to the subjects above,- for instance, as far as the "Castle of the Slave" being the "Grail Castle" of legend goes, the name of the castle is also known as the "Castle of the Servant". This is interesting for two reasons, in particular, the first being the famous question that is asked all of the questors, which is "Whom does the Grail serve?" To which I believe that I've already given an answer, and that answer seems to be 'appropriate' to the symbolism as shown in the illustration above, certainly. And then, of course, there is the 'suffering servant' of prophecy, that can also be 'connected' to the name of the castle... Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him...
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors...From the Book of Isiah, chapter 53 And, of course, there is a Prison Gate in the Temple... I assume it's an Exit. Now, let's add this to the 'mix'... Babylonian Talmud: "The Messiah --what is his name?...The Rabbis say, The Leper Scholar, as it is said, `surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him a leper, smitten of God and afflicted...'" (Sanhedrin 98b)
Midrash Ruth Rabbah: "Another explanation (of Ruth ii.14): -- He is speaking of king Messiah; `Come hither,' draw near to the throne; `and eat of the bread,' that is, the bread of the kingdom; `and dip thy morsel in the vinegar,' this refers to his chastisements, as it is said, `But he was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities'"
Targum Jonathan: "Behold my servant Messiah shall prosper; he shall be high and increase and be exceedingly strong..."
Zohar: "`He was wounded for our transgressions,' etc....There is in the Garden of Eden a palace called the Palace of the Sons of Sickness; this palace the Messiah then enters, and summons every sickness, every pain, and every chastisement of Israel; they all come and rest upon him. And were it not that he had thus lightened them off Israel and taken them upon himself, there had been no man able to bear Israel's chastisements for the transgression of the law: and this is that which is written, `Surely our sicknesses he hath carried.'"
Rabbi Moses Maimonides: "What is the manner of Messiah's advent....there shall rise up one of whom none have known before, and signs and wonders which they shall see performed by him will be the proofs of his true origin; for the Almighty, where he declares to us his mind upon this matter, says, `Behold a man whose name is the Branch, and he shall branch forth out of his place' (Zech. 6:12). And Isaiah speaks similarly of the time when he shall appear, without father or mother or family being known, He came up as a sucker before him, and as a root out of dry earth, etc....in the words of Isaiah, when describing the manner in which kings will harken to him, At him kings will shut their mouth; for that which had not been told them have they seen, and that which they had not heard they have perceived." (From the Letter to the South (Yemen), quoted in The Fifty-third Chapter of Isaiah According to the Jewish Interpreters, Ktav Publishing House, 1969, Volume 2, pages 374-5)chaim.org/rabbis.htmSo what can we conclude? Isaiah 53 cannot refer to the nation of Israel, nor to Isaiah, nor to Moses, nor another prophet. And if not to Moses, certainly not to any lesser man. Yet Messiah would be greater than Moses. As the rabbinic writing "Yalkut" said: "Who art thou, O great mountain? "(Zech. iv.7) This refers to the King Messiah. And why does he call him`the great mountain?' because he is greater than the patriarchs, as it is said, `My servant shall be high, and lifted up, and lofty exceedingly'...
Of whom does Isaiah speak? He speaks of the Messiah, as many ancient rabbis concluded. The second verse of Isaiah 53 makes it crystal clear. The figure grows up as "a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground." The shoot springing up is beyond reasonable doubt a reference to the Messiah, and, in fact, it is a common Messianic reference in Isaiah and elsewhere. The Davidic dynasty was to be cut down in judgement like a felled tree, but it was promised to Israel that a new sprout would shoot up from the stump.chaim.org/nation.htmNow, that first underlined passage echoes our 'Royal Arch' mysteries, and Zerubabbel (which means, 'Seed of Babylon'), and the second highlighted passage echoes the prophecy of Daniel that we just talked about,- very similar symbolism, don't you think? There is a small island off the shore of Kauai, that once served as a leper colony... I used to look at it, and wonder... about the people... And, just interestingly, this 'Willamette' Valley is known to the native Americans here as 'the valley of the sickness'. An interesting parallel, indeed... You see, it may not mean anything (in the way that you assign your own meanings), but for me, it is kind of a wonderful way to find some 'personal' meaning in a very big picture, and a way to make the 'pieces fit' in a very complicated kind of a 'puzzle'. And, really, I can't help smiling... I like this one today... All systems 'go'... for the Apocalypse... l0l0l... That's 'binary code' for "What's up, (H)Al?"

Let it go to your heart, Let it go to your head...Since I'm up early this morning, I thought that I'd add a few notes to the journal... and what gives with the 'new' station? I kind of liked the 'old' station. 'Time' marches on, I suppose... for now... Frankly, I'd rather see it 'skip'... lolol... And 'everybody hurts'... for now. I suppose that's true, too. Bruised... but not broken. I think I can still roller skate. Bring in the buffalo... First of all, I wanted to say that I just heard that Steven Tyler is going to appear in a television commercial spot for... Skittles. "Taste the Rainbow"... I think they've finally got that one right... Hello, Steven Tyler... I heard you on the radio... Speaking of which, I think I need to tell you the 'Snow White' story all over again; I'm pretty sure that nobody got it the first few thousand times around. There is another side to that story, and it turns out that I can get some 'corroborating evidence' out of that one, too. Well, how do you like that? And, hay... here's something that you might not have known,- you remember 'The Beverly Hillbillies'? No? Well... I've mentioned that television show more than once, for its symbolism. Now, here's one more for you, since I mentioned the Temple... One of the other names used for King Solomon was... Jedidyah. Yep. Well, how do you like that? In this scene, 'Jed' tells '(El)lie Mae', "You're a queen... that's what you are." And do you see the huge fleur-de-lis in the center of the 'checkerboard' floor? It's kind of hard to miss... And, of course, it's a 'ball' gown... lolol So she does. 'Rock' or 'bust'... Psalm 45... for the 'Sons of Korah'... (To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, for the sons of Korah, Maschil, A Song of loves.) My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
2 Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.
6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
8 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.
9 Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.
10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;
11 So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.
12 And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.
13 The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.
14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.
15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace... It is said that they will sing a 'new song' in those days... I made up kind of a little 're-mix' of my own, just to 'get the party started,' I suppose... Praise God, from Whom All blessings flow... Praise Him, All creatures here below,- Praise Him above, ye heavenly host,- Praise Him Who saved what was once lost...May 'God' bless the reading of the Word. Ummmm... kind of like that... Except I'm dancing by myself... for now... Nice hats... ...and I just want you to know that I would never do that to my 'Barbie doll'.

Now, let's do something just for fun... You really need to watch this video... again... We've got our 'True Story', we've got a 'Yogi' peeling a banana, we've got Rabbis and a giant white rabbit, and hay... "I'm interest-ing..." Isn't that right, Slim? And, if I'm not mistaken, the two super 'heroes' in the Rapmobile are doing the routine from 'A Night at the Roxbury'... This is great stuff, here... And, hay... it's D12... They don't even know the name of my band... but we got Salsa...

I apologize for the distraction... I just thought that was funny... like the cartoons, in a way. And, it just goes to show you that I can find 'echoes' in some of the strangest places... like the Marx Brothers' material, even. It makes life that much more interesting... that's all. But let's find some 'real meaning' in some other music, if that suits you better. Something more 'credible,' let's say... Like this, maybe... The 'Grateful Dead', with their trademark 'red rose'... And a skull... with a red rose... titled "Skeletons in the Closet"... ...crowned with Roses... ...the Eighteenth Degree (of Freemasonry) is specifically concerned with the rose cross and confers the title of "Knight Rose Croix". Of one version of the degree, Albert Pike wrote in 1871,
"The Degree of Rose Cross teaches three things;—the unity, immutability and goodness of God; the immortality of the Soul; and the ultimate defeat and extinction of evil and wrong and sorrow, by a Redeemer or Messiah, yet to come, if he has not already appeared."
He goes on to give an explanation of what he believes to be the symbolism of the Rose Cross in that degree:
"But [the cross's] peculiar meaning in this Degree, is that given to it by the Ancient Egyptians. Thoth or Phtha is represented on the oldest monuments carrying in his hand the Crux Ansata, or Ankh, (a Tau cross, with a ring or circle over it). [...] It was the hieroglyphic for life, and with a triangle prefixed meant life-giving. To us therefore it is the symbol of Life—of that life that emanated from the Deity, and of that Eternal Life for which we all hope; through our faith in God's infinite goodness.
The ROSE, was anciently sacred to Aurora and the Sun. It is a symbol of Dawn, of the resurrection of Light and the renewal of life, and therefore of the dawn of the first day, and more particularly of the resurrection: and the Cross and Rose together are therefore hieroglyphically to be read, the Dawn of Eternal Life which all Nations have hoped for by the advent of a Redeemer."Anthem to the Sun... with thanks to the Youtube poster known as "Jerry'sKids", who seems to have their head in the clouds... And hay... they say that every 'cloud' has One... Lolol... And you know what I say...? Let there be Light.

Well, I have some time this evening to add to my 'notes', so I thought that I would continue on the theme of Number 14 card of Temperance, and the connections that I can make with the mysterious 'Fire Alchemists' known as the Brothers of the Rose Cross, or Rosicrucians, who seem to have 'connections' of their own with the number 14. It is said that this Brotherhood was formed by four original members who, due to their peculiar 'longevity', evidently succeeded in the 'making' of a magical language and writing, which included a large 'dictionary'. Manly P. Hall writes that: Though calling themselves Christians, the Rosicrucians were evidently Platonists and also profoundly versed in the deepest mysteries of early Hebrew and Hindu theology...I wonder if one of their 'books' wasn't the one that modern scholars refer to as "The Voynich Manuscript", which I've covered on another thread here, somewhere in the Journal. You see, it was said to have been produced in the early 15th century, by persons 'unknown', in a language that seems to resemble a type of 'proto-Hebrew', but unknown... and undecipherable, for the most part. The book seems to describe natural plants and medicinal processes, astronomy and/or astrology, and certain alchemical processes, as well,- all of which would be proper material for these men to cover. The Voynich Manuscript has been dubbed "The Most Mysterious Manuscript in the World". It is considered a Manuscript codex and dates to the early 15th century (1404-1438), possibly created in northern Italy. It is named after the book dealer Wilfrid Voynich, who purchased it in 1912. Some pages are missing, but there are now about 240 vellum pages, most with illustrations. It's size is 23.5 by 16.2 by 5 centimetres (9.3 by 6.4 by 2.0 in).
Much of the manuscript resembles herbal manuscripts of the 1500s, seeming to present illustrations and information about plants and their possible uses for medical purposes. However, most of the plants do not match known species, and the manuscript's script and language remain unknown. Possibly some form of encrypted ciphertext, the Voynich manuscript has been studied by many professional and amateur cryptographers, including American and British codebreakers from both World War I and World War II. It has defied all decipherment attempts, becoming a famous case of historical cryptology. The mystery surrounding it has excited the popular imagination, making the manuscript a subject of both fanciful theories and novels. None of the many speculative solutions proposed over the last hundred years has yet been independently verified. The Voynich manuscript was donated to Yale University's Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library in 1969, where it is catalogued under call number MS 408 and called a "Cipher Manuscript".
We will never fully understand all of the messages - some easy to discern while others resemble allegory making them subjective to the reader. Many of the images follow basic iconography found in other ancient texts. The history of the manuscript takes us to alchemy, creation, and the way the world appeared to the author hundreds of year ago. I believe one man wrote the book over many years, if not decades, to explain his theory of the way the universe works, as well as being used as a healing tool... www.crystalinks.com/voynich.htmlStephen Bax, who teaches at the University of Bedfordshire, has produced a paper and a video where he details his theories on the text and provides translations of ten words from the manuscript, which are proper names of various plants that are depicted in the manuscript.
Professor Bax explains, “I hit on the idea of identifying proper names in the text, following historic approaches which successfully deciphered Egyptian hieroglyphs and other mystery scripts, and I then used those names to work out part of the script.
“The manuscript has a lot of illustrations of stars and plants. I was able to identify some of these, with their names, by looking at mediaeval herbal manuscripts in Arabic and other languages, and I then made a start on a decoding, with some exciting results.”
In his paper, A proposed partial decoding of the Voynich script, Bax details his system and how he discovered the words such as Taurus, Juniper, Coriander, Hellebore, Centaurea and Nigella Sativa.www.medievalists.net/2014/02/20/voynich-manuscript-partially-decoded-text-hoax-scholar-finds/Well, now, that is exciting... Bax also believes that his findings refute any notions that this manuscript is a hoax. He adds that “The content of the manuscript, at least on the plant pages, seems to be completely in accordance with its outward appearance, namely information about the plants and perhaps their medicinal and other uses. If we look back at the earlier description of typical features of mediaeval herbals, every one of them is evidenced in the analysis in this paper. In other words, the manuscript is probably not a trick document disguising secrets behind a different genre.”And then, we have this... The Rosicrucian Fama Fraternitatis makes reference to several important works. The “Book M” is one of these. From meta-religion.com:
“In Damcar, the Fama recounts the learned men ‘to whom Nature was discovered’ received the precocious boy ‘not as a stranger but as one whom the had long expected; they called him by his name, and showed him many other secrets’ – among them mathematics, physics, alchemy, and a document the Fama refers to as the Book M. This last treasure, whose full name is thought by some to be Book Mundi, or Book of the World, is said to have held the secrets of the universe. Young Rosenkreutz decided that he would translate this prodigious work into Latin, so that he might share it with others upon his return to Europe.”
And what language was Rosenkreutz translating this book “out of”, if “into” Latin? From the Fama:
“After this manner began the Fraternity of the Rosie Cross–first, by four persons only, and by them was made the magical language and writing, with a large dictionary, which we yet dayly use to God’s praise and glory, and do find great wisdom therein.”
So the answer is, that the Book M was written in a, “magical language and writing”. Now from New Atlantis, about the Book of Solomon:
“Some think it beareth the founder’s name a little corrupted, as if it should be Solomon’s House. But the records write it as it is spoken. So as I take it to be denominate of the King of the Hebrews, which is famous with you, and no strangers to us; for we have some parts of his works which with you are lost; namely, that natural history which he wrote of all plants, from the cedar of Libanus to the moss that groweth out of the wall; and of all things that have life and motion.”
...John Heydon wrote “The Holy Guide” (pub. 1662), in which he shamelessly rips off Bacon’s New Atlantis, and re-writes many portions of it as a straightforward Rosicrucian text. Of course the New Atlantis is undeniably Rosicrucian in it’s premise, and contains not only RC tenets and philosophy, but also RC symbolism. But Heydon took it a step further, and stripped away Bacon’s reluctance, in a sense, in his version. On the lost works of Solomon reference in NA(New Atlantis), Heydon reworks this into,-
“…we have some parts of works which with you are lost, namely the Rosie Crucian M, which he wrote of all things past, present, and to come”.proto57.wordpress.com/2009/06/20/the-book-m-john-heydon-and-the-book-of-solomon/M... 'M' looks familiar... I wonder why... Now, here's something I just thought that I'd 'throw out there' for those of you that are truly interested in the process that is known to the Rosicrucians as 'The Casting of the Molten Sea', and what that might actually involve... King Solomon was said to have captured, and subsequently imprisoned, 72 demons or Djinn (which happens to be a familiar number) in a brass vessel and cast it into the sea. The vessel was later discovered by the Babylonians, who believed that it contained a great treasure, and so broke open the vessel, at which time the demons and their legions were set free, and they returned to their home, with the exception of Belial, who supposedly entered into an image and delivered oracles in exchange for sacrifices and divine honors. And that reminds me of another story... Pandora's Box... The Lemegeton, or Lesser Key of Solomon, is a grimoire that gives instructions for the evocation of the 72 spirits. These are also known as the Spirits of the Brazen Vessel... Bible scholars suspect that the Bronze Sea had some sort of symbolic value because of its enormous size – too large for the mere washing of the priests’ hands and feet, II Chron. 4:6. Otherwise they seem mystified by it. Others compare it to the Babylonian Apsu, the primordial Deep, “the begetter of all,” while suggesting its twelve oxen were fertility bulls, or that the bulls signify the twelve signs of the zodiac. The true symbolism of Solomon’s Sea escapes these otherwise erudite men. Remarkably, though, it does have some relation to the Apsu, but not quite the way they imagine.
As has been explained, the Bronze Sea commemorates the Red Sea crossing that drowned the Egyptian army, a symbol of sin and the Evil Inclination. But the Sea itself depicts the spirit of God which, when joined to the human spirit (soul) initiates a life-long process of restraining the Evil Inclination. Yet there’s more: The water in the Sea also symbolizes God’s seed and, therefore, when the Divine spirit-seed is joined to the human spirit, a new person is created, spiritually speaking. While the blood of the korban chatat (offerings for sin) separates one from sin’s penalty, the Divine spirit-seed, in conjunction with one’s own efforts, gradually begins redeeming the human spirit from the grip of sin that works through the Evil Inclination. So in this sense the Sea relates to the “begetting” or birthing of a new, spirit-led people – shades of Apsu. To emphasize: This symbolizes a rebirth through the Divine spirit, the Divine seed...www.templesecrets.info/bronzesea.htmlLiving waters... Now, let's look at one of those illustrations again... These figures seem to be not only 'individuals', but associated somehow with a 'star', to which each one seems to be 'attached'. They are also 'contained' within a vessel... don't you think that's an interesting place to find someone? A lot of someones... but maybe there's a good reason for this. I think there is... I submit that these figures represent the 72 Djinn, or 'fallen stars', that Solomon was said to have imprisoned within a Brazen vessel, and then subsequently 'cast into the sea'... and that this book illustrates part of this Great Truth, and the first act necessary to the accomplishment of the making of the "Philosopher's Stone", according to these Rosicrucians. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.Book of the prophet Micah, 7:19 She sells seashells... All will be redeemed... Speaking of which, let me add this one last 'tidbit' to my notes of this morning... let's see if I can lend some 'credibility' to this theory... Do you see the figure in the center of the circle? It appears to be a ram... and a bush... by way of korban chatat, or 'sin-offering', as given in the quote above, just as this same symbolism was employed in the case of Abraham and Isaac; a 'substitute' (or scapegoat, maybe) was provided. I know... Pretty 'in-credible', isn't it?

I'd like to post just a couple more notes this morning, before I have to go... I'm going to add something to the post above in regard to the 'Brazen Sea' or 'Molten Sea', as it is referred to, so I'll edit that one after I post this one, in which I would just like to say 'hello', generally, and, "Thanks, for the 'Fields of Gold'". That was fun... *sniff*... And speaking of 'fun', I wanted to tell you that I got two new toys recently that really are a lot of fun. They're little rabbit-toys... white rabbits... One of them has bleary little squinted eyes, and he's wearing a Ninja suit, complete with spring-loaded spinning toilet plunger weapon and when you wind him up and set him on the table, he and the plunger spin in circles. The second rabbit has a wide space between his teeth, instead of the usual 'big ones', and is looking upward at a... kraken... octopus... that is perched on its head. You can shoot the kraken off of the rabbit's head with a button 'trigger', as well... I'm really enjoying these... so, 'thank you' to the people that brought us the 'multi-cultural hipster playing the ukelele'... lolol... Wish you were here... watch the watermelons... Well, that was fun, too... Now, I guess I should get on with the not-so-fun parts. I might have time to add something to my post now, but it can't be much... posting is so infernally slow... A little 'Cult' music... just for fun... She Sells Sanctuary... by the seashore... Lololol... And seashells...

"Let there be Light..." Indeed. I have so many things that I'd like to say, really... notes in my journal, that I'd like to make... but, some of my thoughts, and moments, I think I'll save, just for myself. They are my personal 'consolations' here, I suppose,- meant for me... and so, I don't suppose that it matters whether or not you recognize them. I know that you all have some of your own. I do like to bring them to mind, every so often, though... and so, I have been. There are so many 'connections', and parallels... echoes, if you Will... music abounds with them, and I enjoy it all, mostly. I was reading earlier regarding 'ciphers' and 'codes' and the ways that messages are transmitted, secretly, and one of those methods involved the substitution of musical notes for letters, so that entire pieces of music might be 'communicating' on an entirely different level,- above and apart from the lyrics, which is also an interesting thought, certainly. Francis Bacon was said to have written several musical pieces, which is... curious... since he, himself, was a great 'fan' of ciphers and codes, I understand. Personally, I believe that music has been the vehicle of many messages over the years... some obvious, and others, very much hidden within the melody, by one means or another. Music is particularly appropriate as an avenue for 'communication', since it combines 'sound' transmission with number. Music was, and is, used to create 'vibrations' which 'communicate' with the various elements, themselves... and those 'vibrations' affect the elements, which is reflected in various ways, both physically and 'super-physically'. The dance was sacred, in the beginning... it generated 'good vibrations'... lolol... There are other means of transmitting messages, of course... Light is one... electricity... that which 'set fire' to the 'water', and that which 'ex-pressed Itself' at the very moment of Creation as 'the Word'... In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.John 1:1 He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.- verses 2 and 3 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.John 1:14 Interestingly, the number 14 seems to be of particular significance to the Rosicrucian brotherhood... For instance, there was an edition of "The Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz" printed in 1616,- 16 16 - 1+6=7 and again, 1+6=7, and 7+7 =14... Fourteen is seven, twice, as in 'two' of 'those' or, we can reduce 1 and 4 to 5, which is significant as the 'Fifth Element', or the 'quintessence' of the alchemists... simple ciphering... lolol... I was formed long ages ago, at the very beginning, when the world came to be.Proverbs 8:23 Now, I assume that the reason that the Rosicrucians are known as 'Fire Alchemists' has to do with this 'Primal Fire'... this Living Word, which is the very ex-pression of 'God', and known to men for countless ages in the guise of the Sun, which light provides for the creation and preservation of 'life' here. Its symbolism, then, should be fairly apparent, but it is only a symbol, after all... a symbol of something else,- and its truth, if it is to be True, must apply on other levels. A Gnostic gospel, discovered in the East by a learned traveller of our acquaintance, explains the genesis of light to the profit of Lucifer, as follows: “Self-conscious truth is living thought. Truth is thought as it is in itself, and formulated thought is speech. When Eternal Thought desired a form, it said: ‘Let there be light.’ Now, this Thought which speaks is the Word, and the Word said: ‘Let there be light,’ because the Word itself is the light of minds. The untreated light, which is the Divine Word, shines because it desires to be seen. When it says: ‘Let there be light!’ it ordains that eyes shall open; it creates intelligences. When God said: ‘Let there be light!’ Intelligence was made, and the light appeared. Now, the Intelligence which God diffused by the breath of His mouth, like a star given off from the sun, took the form of a splendid angel... Intelligence awakened, and comprehended its nature completely by the understanding of that utterance of the Divine Word: ‘Let there be light!’ It felt itself to be free because God had called it into being, and, raising up its head, with both wings extended, it replied: ‘I will not be slavery.’ (I will seperate from the Darkness...)
‘Then shalt thou be suffering,’ said the Untreated Voice.
‘I will be liberty,’ (I will not be contained...) replied the light.
'Pride will seduce thee,’ said the Supreme Voice, ‘and thou wilt bring forth death.’
‘I needs must strive with death to conquer life,’ again responded the created light. Thereupon God loosed from His bosom the shining cord which restrained the superb angel, and beholding him plunge through the night, which he furrowed with glory, He loved the offspring of His thought, and said with an ineffable smile: ‘How beautiful was the light!’
“God has not created suffering; intelligence has accepted it to be free." From 'Rituel et Dogme de la Haute Magie' by Eliphas Levi I find this particular statement to be entirely... thought-provoking... Flux and reflux... up and down... left and right... Darkness... and Light. They define each other by their existence. They are 'necessary' to the 'big picture'... And yet, men continue to curse the Darkness, rather than light a candle... and turn what would appear to be a 'curse' into a 'blessing'... I know there's a story there, somewhere... and a moral... Or two. And, it's funny that we should mention 'morals', since that has to do with 'integrity'... or 'wholeness', if you Will... And that has to do with our Fire Alchemists, I think... INRI... which means, I believe, "The integrity (wholeness) of Nature is restored by Fire"... ...and Aurora... the Light of Dawn... Which is being heralded by our 'Rooster'... even now... This bird, which is most often referred to as a 'pelican' (as is an alchemical retort) does not have the bill of the pelican, and might more rightly be seen as a Phoenix, which has more to do with 'renovation by Fire'... Not to mention... he ain't gonna die...Now, the passage above makes reference to the fact that 'God' loosed from his bosom the shining cord that 'bound' or 'restrained' the angel, and this is interesting, because... one of the Rosicrucian diagrams which represents the 'interblending planes' of being. The description of the symbols says: "In the right margin the seven outer circles contain the names of the planetary angels. The words in the graduated circles from the top triangle downward read: (1) The Abyss of Compassion (2) Zion (3)The New Heaven and the New Earth (4)The New Jerusalem (5)Paradise (6) The Bosom of Abraham (7)The Outer Courts of the Lord. From below the circles of darkness reach upward, each divine principle being opposed by an infernal opposite. The small circle on the left containing a triangle and a cross is named the Tree of Life, and that on the right the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. In the center of the diagram is the Trinity, joined with the superior and inferior planes by lines of activity." The mention of the 'Bosom of Abraham' is interesting in this light, since Abraham is said to have been from Ur... Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife, and they went forth together from Ur of the Chaldeans (Ur (Light) of the ones of Kesad (Clod breaker) ) to go into the land of Canaan, but when they came to Haran, they settled there. (ESV)Gen 11:31 The 'ones of Kesad' (the clod-breaker), which is another name for the mysterious worm known as the Shamir, as well as a very nice epithet for one who 'tilled the soil', don't you think? And, speaking of 'messages' in music, I kind of like these, too... If you see what I mean... And I'm pretty sure that the poster known as 'Youcity Abe' knows what I mean... lol... U-City... A simple cipher... and a 'double knot'... Beats brain surgery. I can just can't envision that one with his hands full of 'gray matter'... "You can't be a double-knot, Ellie... you'll just end up getting painted gold." "Well, that sounds like fun, too..." Classic stuff... or at least, the stuff that 'classics' are made of... Good morning... as in 'good'... maybe a little bit stinky, but... good... Lololol... Do you know why the Good Saint Nicholas gives 'naughty' children lumps of coal? It's a good question, really. So that they can make their 'diamonds' out of them... I also just wanted to point out a couple of other 'echoes' of my own, in regard to the material that I covered last night; to begin with, the 'double knot' thing.... If you will remember, the 'Grand Tortue' (a great Master, evidently) tied a double knot in the 'Zen string' to test for 'genuineness'. With his toes. And then, with just a gentle tug, the two knots just disappeared. Like magic... I suspect a silk 'Zen string'. Go, go, 'Gad-zilla'... That was a good one, I have to admit. And then, of course, there are the 'messages' that are 'recorded', and meant for later 'playback'... "Help me, Obi Won Kenobi... you're my only hope..."Lolol... But siriusly, I believe that there are messages... recorded in diverse places... which are translatable by means of the 'jukebox', or 'receiver', and that for every message there is (must be) an intended 'receiver'. Otherwise, the 'message', and the point of sending a message, is... lost. It may be that, in some cases, the message has been 'jammed'... which happens in the case of 'double knot spies', I suppose. Signal-jamming... And Mr. Hofstadter's 'eternal golden braid'... Now, just for 'fun', I realize that we've already spent more than a minute at this, but I'd just like to give you a minute's worth of my own thoughts, in regard to 'Ground Hog Day', which is, as I've said many times before, one of my favorite 'real' holidays... 'in*credible' as it seems... Oh, wow... it IS Ground Hog Day... don't tell me, let me guess... he's as excited about getting up today as I am,- six more months of winter. I could barely sleep last night wondering if the groundhog was going to see his shadow... it's hardly worth wondering if he's going to leave you anything. It never does. What? Really? He didn't see his shadow this year? I wonder what the odds are on that... Nice...
You know what I really like to see on Ground Hog Day? I think it's fun when the groundhog just kind of gets tired of being 'spectated on', and reaches over and bites somebody, like he did last year. I think he bit the mayor... right on the ear... not too badly, I guess, but I'll bet that makes it hard to pay the electric bill for his little temperature-controlled 'man-cave'... lolol... I wonder if they got a new groundhog? Who could tell the difference, right?
I like Ground Hog Day, because it doesn't really make any pretensions to lofty myth, or fame, or wishes of whatever kind, except maybe for the warmth of some sunshine. The earth waits, together... for some roses. And the groundhog reminds us, as often as not, that the answer of 'Nature' is, "Just a little while longer..." But not today.
They don't make any candy for Ground Hog Day... I wonder how we could make that work? I'll dress up like a groundhog...
But not today.
I hope it's a better day than yesterday. "Ohhhhh, I'm dreaming of a shining peanut butter groundhog..."
Time to wake up...
Happy Ground Hog Day, friends... how about a little something-something from "Primus"?

Sorry about the 'interruption',- I mean to post more consistently, but... things happen. And then, they kind of keep happening, and before you know it, the time goes by. And, it's not so much that I'm a 'lazy' poster (although, I confess that I don't feel the urgency to do so in the same way that I used to, when I had other people to look forward to responding to), it's more that I feel as if I should speak when I have something to say... but I can't think of what to say next. There are things that I might like to say, but feel that I shouldn't, and things that I'd like to bring up, but I've forgotten where they are exactly, and don't know where to start... again. I'm trying to make notes as I read, but that raises a whole new set of issues, really. Anyway, I found my commemorative 'Ground Hog' lighter this morning,- the lighter company that I've used all these years evidently printed one up last year, and I just had to have one,- so I 'lit one up' for Ground Hog Day... so to speak... and that was some good fun. That was about it for fun, today, but maybe some music will help. It always does... Oh, and that reminds me... I wanted to mention how much I enjoy the title of Elton John's new album, "Wonderful, Crazy Nights". Two of my favorite words, in a familiar setting... You know, I won Elton John's "Honky Chateau" album on a radio call-in contest, once,- it was the only thing I ever won, and I had to climb in through the window to get to the telephone on time. That was pretty great... And then, there is David Bowie's last album, titled "Black Star"... I like the sound of that one. Naturally. There's Bruce Springsteen's new album, and Tom Petty, and so many more, and I can't help smiling at the notion of a "Rock, Paper, Scissors" tour. This is all Great stuff... truly... which all leads me to believe that these really are some truly Great times,- you just don't realize it yet. Out of one in all is all... (Taken from an old alchemical manuscript) One in a million... Ten Sefirot of Nothingness: One is the Breath of the Living God, blessed and benedicted be the Name of the Life of worlds. Voice, Breath and Speech. This is the Holy Breath (Ruach HaKodesh).-from the Sefer Yetzirah And that 'Holy Breath' sounds very much like a 'holy ghost', if you ask me... well... if there is to be such a thing as a 'holy ghost'... a 'spirit',- 'invisible'... like breath. And this 'Voice, Breath and Speech' is known as the 'Logos'... the 'Living Word', or Creative Word, of 'God'. Now, this same 'Logos' is described for us in the book of the Revelations of St. John the Divine, and Manly P. Hall explains some of that symbolism for us in this way: "The Logos-figure described is a composite picture of the seven sacred planets: he has the snowy-white hair of Kronos ('Father Time'), the blazing eyes of 'wide-seeing' Zeus, the sword of Arcs, the shining face of Helios, and the chiton and girdle of Aphrodite; his feet are of mercury, the metal sacred to Hermes, and his voice is like the murmur of the ocean's waves (the 'many waters'), alluding to Selene, the Moon-Goddess of the four seasons and of the waters."
The seven stars carried by this immense Being in his right hand are the Governors of the world; the flaming sword issuing from his mouth is the Creative Fiat, or Word of Power, by which the illusion of material permanence is slain. Here also is represented, in all his symbolic splendor, the hierophant of the Phrygian Mysteries, his various insignia emblematic of his divine attributes. Seven priests bearing lamps are his attendants and the stars carried in his hand are the seven schools of the Mysteries whose power he administers. As one born again out of spiritual darkness, into perfect wisdom, this archimagus is made to say: "I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forever more, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." - from "The Secret Teachings of All Ages" You see those 'seven schools of the Mysteries' that are being referred to? Do you see that they correspond to the seven 'churches' to whom 'messages' were issued? I emphasize the last portion of the quote, because this is the end of the 'Great Work',- on both the smaller, and more personal and the larger, universal levels,- both of which will be required in order to 'finish' the Mysteries... the 'raising' of the 'Adam'... and this, I believe, is the Great Alchemical Goal of the ages... with the various processes being 'overseen' by unseen laborers, such as these Rosicrucians, and other 'scientists'; our Templar knights, in particular; and later, at least part of the Freemasonic Brotherhood. And this, I believe, is what has been mysteriously referred to as 'redeeming the redeemer'. 'In-credible' as that seems... Ten Sefirot of Nothingness: Their end is embedded in their beginning, and their beginning in their end, like a flame in a burning coal. For the Master is singular, He has no second. And before One, what do you count? Zero... I'm pretty sure that's right. There is something that I'd like to say this morning, in reply to a statement made a few mornings ago... Life may very well be nothing more than a dream, and my life in particular, I suppose, but... quite 'in-credibly', every once in a lifetime, somebody's dream comes true. I've seen it happen... and that strengthens me to believe that it could also happen to somebody like me. Or you... And that would be pretty Great, don't you think? Now, I'd like to add an illustration to the quote above, in regard to the 'sevens'... There are seven points on the star, and seven circles that certainly represent the 'seven planetary powers', as well as the sun and the moon, and the cube of Pythagoras (described below), stands with one foot on the earth, and one on the sea. I would like to leave you with some thoughts on the "Philosopher's Stone" from Thomas Vaughan: It is prepared, as the philosophers tell us, from the old dragon and in plain terms it is the fume of Mercury—not crude, but cocted. This fume utterly destroys the first form of gold, introducing a second and more noble one. By Mercury I understand not quicksilver but Saturn philosophical, which devours the Moon and keeps her always in his belly. By gold I mean our spermatic, green gold — not the adored lump, which is dead and ineffectual. It would be well for the students of this noble Art if they resolved on some general positions before they attempted the books of the philosophers. For example, let them take along with them these few truths, and they will serve them for so many rules whereby they may censure and examine their authors. First, that the first matter of the Stone is the very same with the first matter of all things; secondly, that in this matter all the essential principles or ingredients of the Elixir are already shut up by Nature, and that we must not presume to add anything to this matter but what we have formerly drawn out of it; for the Stone excludes all extractions but what is distilled immediately from its own crystalline, universal minera; thirdly and lastly, that the philosophers have their peculiar secret metals, quite different from the metals of the vulgar, for where they name Mercury they mind not quicksilver, where Saturn not lead, where Venus and Mars not copper and iron, and where Sol or Luna not gold or silver. This Stone verily is not made of common gold and silver, but it is made, as one delivers it, "of gold and silver that are reputed base, that stink and withal smell sweetly; of green, living gold and silver to be found everywhere but known to very few." Away then with those mountebanks who tell you of antimony, salts, vitriols, marcasites, or any mineral whatsoever. Away also with such authors as prescribe or practice upon any of these bodies. You may be sure they were mere cheats and wrote only to gain a reputation of knowledge. There are indeed some uncharitable but knowing Christians who stick not to lead the blind out of his way. These are full of elaborate, studied deceits...
Trismegistus, in his vision of the creation, did first see a pleasing, gladsome light, but interminated. Afterwards appeared a horrible sad darkness, and this moved downwards, descending from the eye of the light, as if a cloud should come from the sun. This darkness — saith he — was condensed into a certain water, but not without a mournful, inexpressible voice or sound, as the vapors of the elements are resolved by thunder. After this — saith that great philosopher — the Holy Word came out of the light and did get upon the water, and out of the water He made all things. Let it be your study then — who would know all things — to seek out this secret water, which hath in itself all things. This is the physical and famous Pythagorean cube, which surprises all forms, and holds them prisoners. "If anywise," said my Capnion, "a form implanted in this ground remain thereon; if it enters therein and does abide in such solid receptacle, being laid up therein as in a material foundation; it is not received at random nor indifferently but permanently and specially, becoming inseparable and incommunicable, as something added to the soil, made subject to time and to place, and deprived — so to speak of its liberty in the bondage of matter."
The consequences of this prison, which sometimes are sad, and the steps that lead to it, are most elegantly expressed in the oracles. "A steep descent extends beneath the earth, leading seven ways by stages and beneath which is the throne of a horrible necessity." www.alchemywebsite.com/aula_lucis.htmlCertain words, and numbers, seem to serve as 'ciphers', of sorts... All you need is the key.
