I've often thought that I'd like to share some of my experiences on the internet, just for fun... maybe just to see if anyone else has had as much fun as I have, in my lengthy excursions through the 'looking glass,' if you will... I like to think of it that way, sometimes; after all... you probably can, can't you? It's funny, too, I think sometimes, how this whole internet experience has turned out... we've used our computers as business tools, social networks, entertainment generators, and music machines, among other things. I've experienced most of those now, and they each bear some contemplation in their own right, as to the actual effect that has been made, both individually, and societally, by our trips through the fantastic land known as the 'world wide web.' Indeed... Still, it is the personal side of personal computing that interests me the most... how it is being used, by whom, and why. We are beginning to see other people talk about their own personal experiences, and I sometimes think that I'd like to share some of my own... I've posted regularly on a couple of 'conspiracy' forums that tell us quite plainly that they are for 'entertainment purposes only,' and so you really have to wonder about the value of any 'conspiracy' contained therein, which I believe are all actually directly related to entertainment, as it so happens... or, as a friend of mine once said, the 'forum' is the conspiracy... more or less... which makes it a 'conspiracy forum,' not by actual content, so much (which, let's face it, has the very 'barest' resemblance to any 'true' conspiracy that I can imagine), but by it's actual nature. And that is as good a place as any to start with that... I'm not sure where I'll end up, yet.

Now, my first experiences with posting on 'conspiracy forums' were on a somewhat 'infamous' forum among the other forums... not so much for the quality of its posters, as the frequency of the bannings of its posters, and from which, incidentally, I see that my IP address still seems to be banned. I never really understood why, you know... Of all the posters on that site, I must have been one of the least obnoxious, really, I would have thought, and I did have a couple of 'friends' there, or at least, they seemed friendly enough... and I had a certain few detractors, as well, who probably developed an animosity towards me, as a poster, due to my habit of calling them on their (what seemed to me) obvious oversights in certain areas. In other words, I pretty much laughed at them in front of the other posters, and hurt their feelers... I mean, feelings. I was sorry, really, but they were never really nice to me, either, as posters, and so you can't really blame me if I didn't feel any particular obligation to be nice in return, in the face of their 'superiority.' Well, even if you can, I don't... and didn't.
One of the more memorable of my detractors there actually accused me of being the 'granddaughter of the Devil,' if you can believe it... I wasn't sure, so I gave it some thought. The thing is, even if we accept that such a thing could be true, there is surely an equally good reason, and answer, for it... I could believe that, too. The point is that from the time that I assumed some sort of an 'identity' as a poster (and I think that I can narrow it down to that), there were people who wanted to 'attack me,' not as a person, but as an avatar that I assumed; I could further assume that if I changed my avatar, other posters' attitudes towards me, as a poster, would change correspondingly. An easy psychological experiment...
Now, you would think that most people assume an avatar that corresponds with some trait of their own, whether real or imagined (or 'amplified,' if you will), but I believe that in many cases, avatars are an absolute fabrication of the poster, that is meant to convey certain things about them that aren't necessarily true, in reality... and some people take a lot of time and thought with theirs, while others just go with something stock, and simple. Avatars, in some cases, are almost like signatures... and even if many are used, there are similarities that make them unique to a user, and mark them as to their purpose, if you pay attention. Avatars can be fun, if you enjoy deciphering, because they are often 'coded,' or anagrammed, and I have a lot of fun with that. Some of them are veiled references to other 'things,' which people want to say (or really just put under your nose, so to speak), without coming right out and saying it, from which they seem to derive some measure of satisfaction, if not secret pleasure, at your ignorance.
When I first started posting, anonymously, I was extremely naive as to the possible identities and motives of other posters, and I took it all on 'good faith.' I didn't realize the true nature of 'conspiracy,' yet... and I have to admit that I was extremely interested by the many theories that were put forth regarding certain subjects that I was already interested in, and took another sort of secret pleasure in the thought that my few responses were being received, and enjoyed by others that were obviously interested in the same kinds of things. In other words, I was having a good time, and it was actually entertaining, if not actually informative.
And I met a couple of other extremely interesting posters that I was eager to read, and respond to... and...
I was hooked... mostly...

I'll tell you something that I tried once, at the suggestion of another poster, which I found to be most 'enlightening'... I don't know if you can still do this, or not, since it turns out to be at least 'inconvenient' for the one being 'googled,' I'm sure... I saw that someone mentioned that you could 'google-search' a poster's id number, and it would show you the other websites that they had been looking at... I tried this on one particular poster, and came up with a really long and nasty list that included the names of some particularly reprehensible websites (content-wise, certainly), as well as 'dating sites,' 'children's sites,' 'gay sites,' and news sites... quite an eclectic mixture, to say the least; it makes you wonder. Now, I never made much more out of it, publicly, since it was just a list, that may, or may not, mean anything in particular... but I always kept it in mind. You are what you 'eat,' after all... isn't that right? I think that's pretty much right. Which means that we should all be checking the 'crap' that's being dropped, for the nature of its contents. If they poop out feathers... well... someone's eating canaries. Again... Baad, baad putty-tat...

I often get a chuckle out of contemplating what kind of profile my internet habits would make to an inquiring mind. The internet has afforded all the opportunity to gaze into windows they otherwise would not. What a bizarre world indeed. Yet what ever you choose to gaze at, you know you are not gazing alone. Gay porn? That would be to put it mildly of course. Might as well look at the wholeness of reality. I have my line as anyone else. But of mature age and willful consent, it is amazing the things people choose to do together.

Perplexing, certainly, in some cases.... but I would hardly say amazing. Nothing that hasn't been 'seen' at least a million times already... in a dark alley, somewhere, most likely. To me, Arthur, none of that has much to do with the 'wholeness' of reality; it's more to do with it's distortion, if you ask me. Bad lenses... or even missing altogether, in some cases... just to fit yourself into a disguise that has nothing at all to do with what something 'really' is... or is not, which is probably more to the point. I don't encourage these distortions... and you seem to revel in them. The problem is that, as long as there is a distortion, nothing can be quite 'on the level.' Ever. And that's no way to build anything... Much less a future. If you're concerned with such things, I'm sure...

I am just peeking in windows. Windows of the now, and I accept what is presented to me. Everything is in divine order.

Love is about respecting boundaries. So, what do you suppose went wrong with that particular theory of yours...? I have seen with my own eyes that that is only a 'platitude' for you... both respect, and boundaries. Love is 'respectable,' as well... the other, not so much.

Oh, I know all about the 'peeking in windows' thing... although, truthfully, my living in a closet would seem to prevent that sort of thing, I would have thought. Lol... But siriusly (seriously), that makes you a voyeur as well, and while I can't say I'm surprised at this point, I will say that I try to be a little bit finickier than that... some cats are like that. You can't just fling a rat at their feet and expect much gratitude. I guess you could just call me 'Morris.' Or 'Lucky'...

Arthur, my friend... as it is, you were never really any more than words on a screen, as am I... and yet... I can see 'you' well enough. The picture that you paint is extremely... vivid... Almost life-like...

The ones that think are here. And that is why the world still stands today. Those underground and those above still smile. To get kicked from a site is no reason to forget. After all, God made us. Or did he?
