Since I first became acquainted with this subject, I've had a lingering interest in it... if for no other reason, it is about a 'book' that nobody has been able to read; until now, maybe. This particular 'book' is also richly illustrated... I intend to post up some of them, as they pertain to the subject matter, or maybe just because they are so very interesting... and they are. The 'book' that I'm referring to is, of course, the 'Voynich Manuscript.' A brief history of the unique work should begin with this excerpt from a work by Brigadier John H Tiltman: The manuscript enters recorded history on the 19th of August, 1666, when Joannes Marcus Marci of Cronland sent the codex from Prague to Athanasius Kircher, at Rome, with a signed autograph letter, which is found loosely laid into the manuscript. It reads as follows (transl. from the Latin): "Reverend and Distinguished Sir, Father in Christ: "This book, bequeathed to me by an intimate friend, I destined for you, my very dear Athanasius, as soon as it came into my possession, for I was convinced that it could be read by no one except yourself. "The former owner of this book asked your opinion by letter, copying and sending you a portion of the book from which he believed you would be able to read the remainder, but he at that time refused to send the book itself.
To its deciphering he devoted unflagging toil, as is apparent from attempts of his which I send you herewith, and he relinquished hope only with his life. But his toil was in vain, for such Sphinxes as these obey no one but their master, Kircher. Accept now this token, such as it is and long overdue though it be, of my affection for you, and burst through its bars, if there are any, with your wonted success.
"Dr. Raphael, a tutor in the Bohemian language to Ferdinand III, then King of Bohemia, told me the said book belonged to the Emperor Rudolph and that he presented to the bearer who brought him the book 600 ducats. He believed the author was Roger Bacon, the Englishman. On this point I suspend judgement; it is your place to define for us what view we should take thereon, to whose favor and kindness I unreservedly commit myself mand remain,
At the command of your Reverence Joannes Marcus Marci Of Cronland Prague, 19th August, 1666."
The last numeral of the date has been altered by pen from "5" to "6," obviously by Marcus himself.
The emperor Rudolf II (1552-1612) was a scholar rather than a man of affairs; he neglected his duties as ruler of his realm in order to devote himself to the study of alchemy, astrology, and astronomy, and he was the patron of Tycho Brahe, Kepler, John Dee, and a host of other scientists and pseudo-scientists. He resided in Prague throughout most of his reign, where he assembled a great collection of books and art objects. Rudolf, after acquiring the book, apparently loaned or gave it to Jacobus Horcicky de Tepenecz (died 1622), whose name, "Jacobi a Tepenece," is written on the recto of the first leaf...
The form of the name shows that the book must have been in his hands after 1608, when the "de Tepenecz" was acquired by patent of nobility from the Emperor. Tepenecz was the director of Rudolf's alchemical laboratory and his botanical gardens. Dr. Raphael (1580-1644), a lawyer and minor poet, who supplied information concerning the book to Marcus, was connected with the Imperial court under Emperors Rudolf II, Ferdinand II, and Ferdinand III, and thus was in an excellent position to have obtained knowledge concerning the codex...
The connection of the cipher manuscript with the famous Athanasius Kircher, S.J. (1601-1680), is especially intriguing. He was one of the foremost scholars of the Jesuit order, keenly interested in problems of decipherment and the author of three works on an attempted solution of the Egyptian hieroglyphics, and of another work (Polygraphia. 1663), on codes and ciphers in general.
In the XXth century the codex was acquired by Wilfried M. Voynich, a dealer in manuscripts, in 1912, who discovered it in a chest "in an ancient castle in Southern Europe."Now, this information is interesting for many reasons; I have underlined the appropriately intriguing passages for you, and we'll see if you make the same 'connections.' There seem to be many here... and more on the way... connections to Cathars (suggested, at least, which would lead me to surmise at the location of the 'castle' involved, which you might guess at, too, if you've been reading many of my previous threads); connections to John Dee; connections, even, to the Necronomicon, even if you can believe such a thing... and even the name 'Marcus Marci,' which contains a double-dose of the letters 'CRM,' which are said to denote representatives of the Rose-and-Cross. Just another interesting possible correlation to things, in general... And the 'language' that it's written in, turns out to be familiar, after all... if not somewhat 'archaic.' I'll save that for the next post. In the meantime, I leave you with an illustration that ought to be equally intriguing, and 'set the stage,' so to speak, for the rest... I think you're going to like this... It's a 'mirror image'... Baahahaha....

Several translations have been attempted... and, ostensibly, made. We can begin with the first, which features Roger Bacon as the likely 'author'... After considerable historical research, Mr. Voynich submitted the MS to several cryptographers. When the symbols in the MS had been copied and classified, their appearance and frequency were found to be consistent throughout, and seemed to have been composed in a single-alphabet substitution cipher. But, this did not appear to be the case, much to the dismay of the cryptographers, and they could not extract an intelligible message in any language from the text. The MS was then surrendered to several botanists and astronomers (due to the nature of the drawings) and to many experts in ancient languages— all to no avail. Realizing the possibility that the MS might require the interpretation of someone versed in cabalistic lore (Roger Bacon was no stranger to this) Voynich finally turned over the MS to Dr. William Romaine Newbold, of the University of Pennsylvania, and one of the greatest students of medieval philosophy and science. Newbold possessed the advantage that he was familiar with medieval methods of thought, was versed in occult sciences, and, he was also a cryptographer. Newbold started work on deciphering the Voynich MS in 1919.
When Newbold first attacked the MS for decipherment, he realized that he needed to find a key which would allow him to understand how the MS was enciphered. On the last page of the MS was written a single sentence:
"michiton oladabas multos te tccr cerc portas"
Disregarding the obvious nulls used in the sentence (ton ola tetccr cerc) and exchanging the "o" in "multos" for "a", the intelligible Latin sentence emerges:
"michi dabas multas portas" translating into English,
"To me thou gavest many gates."
Counting the number of letters in the sentence reveals it to be 22. Newbold then adapted the Latin alphabet to it omitting the letter "k", replacing "x" with "v" and produced the first form of the cipher alphabet used by Bacon:
m i c h i d a b a s m u l t a s p o r t a s a b c d e f g h i l m n o p q r s t u v y z
Here is what makes Newbold’s qualifications for decipherment of the MS so felicitous. Newbold understood that a major clue was to be found in the word "portas", in that its interpreted cabalistic meaning of "gates" would be the secret to the clarification of the Key. Newbold knew that Bacon was well acquainted with the Cabala and would have used such a plan in his Key, for in Bacon’s Epistle on the Nullity of Magic, where he details several ciphering systems, the sixth such system is called, "The Kabbalah of the Nine Chambers".
From Newbold's footnotes we find the following:
"In Cabalistic philosophy the universe consists of God’s thought; thought is expressed in speech; speech is composed of letters; hence the Letters are the ultimate constituents of Things.
The "gates" are the 231 biliteral combinations of the Hebrew Ietters (doubles omitted; 231 permutated pairs added by later writers); they represent the primary combinations of the highest manifestations of the divine Being which are at once the forces which make other things, the material of which they are made, and the channels through which the divine energy streams forth into the lower world. A single quotation from the Sepher Yezirah, will suffice:
He combined (the Letters), weighed them, exchanged them, Aleph with all and all with Aleph, Beth with all and all with Beth, and they go (each) all the way around (the Alphabet). And they are found (comprised) in 231 gates, and everything formed and everything uttered is found to proceed from one Name."
...At last, the plain text began to emerge, and without going too far afield for the letters of anagrammed text. The letters to be rearranged occurred in pairs next to one another, either indirect or reverse order, and only relatively infrequently did Newbold have to go as far as three or four words ahead in order to fill in the plain text.
What Newbold discovered in the text was absolutely astonishing— enough to gather a lot of attention from the scientific community. The biological drawings in the text were described asseminiferous tubes, the microscopic cells with nuclei, and even spermatozoa. Among the astronomical drawings were the descriptions of spiral nebulae, a coronary eclipse, and the comet of 1273. One of the more baffling things about this was that many of the drawings of plants, and of the galaxies appeared to have been invented.
There was no doubt that if Bacon were the author of such a text, he must have had some way of obtaining the information. For instance, Newbold’s translation of the caption near the drawing of the nebula of Andromeda gave its location by the following: "In a concave mirror I saw a star in the form of a snail.... between the navel of Pegasus, the girdle of Andromeda, and the head of Cassiopea".
Now, Bacon is credited with the invention of the magnifying glass, but it should be certain that he did not invent the telescope or the microscope as many at the time of this discovery conjectured. The "concave mirror" is probably the single most important clue here. Many of the later prominent Renaissance figures would not only describe similar visions of travel to distant places, several also included such "shewstones" as their viewing apparatus. In the works of Dee, Kircher, and even the more famous Nostradamus, one will find reference to such a device, and in each case these individuals recorded the experience of visions associated with it. Some of their descriptions were later proven to be precise. The actual knowledge pertaining to the use of a device such as this is probably now lost, but in any case it is most worthy of mention considering the circumstances...www.bibliotecapleyades.net/ciencia/esp_ciencia_manuscrito01.htmNow, while all of this is thought-provoking, indeed, it is not, by any means, the only translation available, and Newbold's translation had its detractors, as well... some of it really doesn't hold up very well, but I do believe that he was on the right track, at least... with the 'Hebrew' identification...

The speculation of William F. Friedmann, another military cryptographer, was that the MS was actually a text in an artificial language, and may have held some merit if it were not for the fact that he was also responsible, and instrumental in the demolition of Newbold’s theory (again, after Newbold’s death). But, he, too never went any further than this simple hypothesis. Many others have invented their own versions of decipherment of the MS, but all of them fall short of making anything intelligible out of the mysterious characters. To the cryptographic orthodoxy, the MS is still "undeciphered". I believe many have merely taken the disparaging words of others as proof that the Newbold solution is bogus, without actually examining the specifics. Had Newbold been an amateur with nothing but this decipherment for credentials, it would certainly raise some doubt.
But, Newbold indeed practiced his techniques on similar manuscripts such as the Tironian signs of the so-called Vatican Document (which I won’t detail here as it would necessitate the space of an entire article in itself) and many others. It is most probable though, that the Voynich MS actually cost Newbold his health, both physically and mentally. In the latter days of his work on the MS he began to grow weary and would often restructure his entire method without any sense of reason. Still, the heart of Newbold’s inspiration lies in his initial work on the MS...The next translation offered of the manuscript seems to tie it in with the Cathars, and their rites... again, considering some of the illustrations, that might even make sense, but... then again... what did the Cathars have to do with astronomy and/or astrology? Leo Levitov published his claimed solution of the Voynich Manuscript in Solution Of The Voynich Manuscript: A Liturgical Manual For The Endura Rite Of The Cathari Heresy, The Cult Of Isis (Aegean Park Press, 1987). Due to Michael Barlow and Terence McKenna’s somewhat favorable reviews, Levitov’s book has received some cautiously favorable reception.
Levitov claims that the medieval Western European Cathar sect was actually a survival of the antique Greco-Roman-Egyptian cult of Isis. He further claims that the Voynich Manuscript is a liturgical manual for a Cathar ritual of euthanasia called the Endura.
Jacques Guy has given a linguistic critique of Levitov’s book, ON LEVITOV’S DECIPHERMENT OF THE VOYNICH MANUSCRIPT by Jacques B.M. Guy. Dr. Guy’s review concludes that Levitov’s claimed decipherment of the Voynich Manuscript is invalid. This article considers historical evidence on Catharism that contradicts Levitov’s claim
A reliable account of late Catharism is Montaillou: The Promised Land of Error by Emmanuel Le Roy Ladurie. The introductory chapter to the English translation of Montaillou summarizes the Cathar religion succinctly.
"Catharism or Albigensianism was a Christian heresy: there is no doubt on this point at least. Its supporters considered and proclaimed themselves ’true Christians’, ’good Christians’, as distinct from the official Catholic Church which according to them has betrayed the genuine doctrine of the Apostles. At the same time, Catharism stood at some distance from traditional Christian doctrine, which was monotheist. Catharism accepted the (Manichaean) existence of two opposite principles, if not of two deities, one of good and the other of evil. One was God, the other Satan.
On the one hand was light, on the other dark. On one side was the spiritual world, which was good, and on the other the terrestrial world, which was carnal, physical, corrupt. It was this essentially spiritual insistence on purity, in relation to a world totally evil and diabolical, which gave rise retrospectively to a probably false etymology of the word Cathar, which has been said to derive from a Greek word meaning ’pure’. In fact ’Cathar’ comes from a German word the meaning of which has nothing to do with purity. The dualism good/evil or God/Satan subdivided into two tendencies, according to region. On the one hand there was absolute dualism, typical of Catharism in Languedoc in the twelfth century: this proclaimed the eternal opposition between the two principles, good and evil. On the other hand was the modified dualism characteristic of Italian Catharism: here God occupies a place which was more eminent and more ’eternal’ than that of the Devil."
"Catharism was based on a distinction between a ’pure’ elite on the one hand (perfecti, parfaits [perfects], bonshommes [Goodmen] or hérétiques [heretics; perfects were also called Good Christians. Women could be perfects, Perfectae.] ), and on the other hand, the mass of simple believers (credentes). The parfaits came into their illustrious title after they had been initiated by receiving the Albigensian sacrament of baptism by book and word (not by water). In Cathar language, this sacrament was called the consolamentum (’consolation’). Ordinary people referred to it as ’heretication’. Once he had been hereticated a parfait had to remain pure, abstaining from meat and women. (Catharism, though not entirely anti-feminine, showed no great tolerance of women.)
A parfait had the power to bless bread and to receive from ordinary believers the melioramentum or ritual salutation or adoration. He gave them his blessing and kiss of peace (caretas). Ordinary believers did not receive the consolamentum until just before death, when it was plain that the end was near. This arrangement allowed ordinary believers to lead a fairly agreeable life, not too strict from the moral point of view, until the end approached. But once they were hereticated, all was changed. Then they had to embark (at least in the late Catharism of the 1300s) on a state of endura or total and suicidal fasting. From that moment on there was no escape, physically, though they were sure to save their souls. They could touch neither women nor meat in the period until death intervened, either through natural causes or as a result of the endura."
One often reads that the word "Cathar" comes from the late classical Greek word "katharoi" (pure ones). However, Nicolas Gouzy of the Centre d’Études Cathares (Center of Cathar Studies) writes,
"It seems almost certain today that ’Cathars’ is more comparable to an insult and would mean ’cat worshippers’ or ’catists’ which is supported by the use of the adjective ’catier’ by a Flemish chronicler whose name escapes me at the moment and would derive from the Low German ketter (cat); also the German translation of the word ’heresy’ is die Ketzerel, same root. The heretics are, in the iconography of the moralized Bibles of the XIth century, almost always accompanied by cats, symbol of evil for all of medieval Christendom."(Private e-mail, May 22, 1997.)
Also, the Cathars didn’t refer to themselves as Cathars, as one would expect if it meant "pure ones." They called their leaders "good Christians" or "goodmen".www.bibliotecapleyades.net/ciencia/esp_ciencia_manuscrito04.htm#Conclusion%20on%20Levitovs%20Claim%20of%20DeciphermentBetter still... this all reminds me of my own grandmother's family crest of Keener, whose motto is this: "A Stroked Cat is Gentle..." I'll be darned.

I had read these 'translations' already, but none of them were quite satisfying. Close... in some ways... each one of them, I think, but neither one was really correct. There were still other correlations that could be made between this 'book,' and other 'books,' and people, that seemed entirely more than coincidental. John Dee, for instance, was tied into the book... and he was, of course, known for his own work with an 'angelic language' that was unknown previously. There is also a purported connection to another 'mysterious' book,- The Necronomicon. I include this for the 'interest' value, since that subject has also come up, rather serendipitously-like, just lately... And, we know by now, that there are no such thing as coincidences, I'm sure... The link between those two mysterious manuscripts Voynich’s book and the Necronomicon - was first hypothesized in the Cthulhu Mythos fiction of the English author and critic Colin Wilson. Wilson had been treated Lovecraft quite critically in his book The Strength to Dream, and wrote his first Mythos novel, The Mind Parasites, in response to August Derleth’s challenge to write such a book. Wilson wrote relatively few Mythos stories, but most fans regard his tales as classics in the genre.
The first time Wilson mentioned the Voynich Manuscript was in his short story "The Return of the Lloigor", published in Arkham House’s Tales of the Cthulhu Mythos. The protagonist of "Return" is Professor Paul Lang of the University of Virginia. A literary acquaintance of his asks him to acquire a photocopy of the Voynich Manuscript, which is being kept at the University of Pennsylvania [2]. While Lang is making the copy, he meets a photographer who has taken a color photo of the manuscript.
The professor notices that some faint lines are now showing up, and he commissions photographs of the entire manuscript, filling in the areas where the ink has worn away. He soon discovers that the book is written in Arabic or rather, Greek and Latin written in the Arabic alphabet. (A glance at the characters from the Voynich Manuscript will show that this is impossible, but as this is fiction, Wilson can be allowed some leeway.)
When he finishes, he finds that he has discovered that the book was written by a "Martin Gardener" and is both "a complete scientific account of the universe" and "a typical mediaeval m 鬡nge of magic, theology, and pre-Copernican speculation" [3]. I leave you to guess its title.
Professor Lang has no knowledge of the Necronomicon, and is surprised to learn that Lovecraft supposedly invented it. He notes that there are elements in the Voynich Manuscript in common with the fiction of both Lovecraft and Arthur Machen (a real-life Welsh fantasy writer and a crucial influence on Lovecraft), and hypothesizes that they had seen another copy of the manuscript at some point in their careers. He is unable to find out anything about Lovecraft, but learns that Machen may have seen such a manuscript in Lyons or Paris, where it was held by a circle of French Satanists. For reasons that are unclear, Lang decides to look for this manuscript in Melincourt, Arthur Machen’s birthplace. After he arrives in Melincourt, the story takes its leave of the manuscript as it tells of the professor’s battles against a species of psychic beings known as the lloigor.
I am uncertain why Colin Wilson chose to bring link these two books. The best theory is that this comparison involves John Dee. In real life, John Dee may have been the individual who gave Emperor Rudolph II the Voynich Manuscript, and in fiction, he was the translator of the Latin Necronomicon. The only flaw in this hypothesis is that Wilson never mentions Dee anywhere in his story. It is possible that this omission is deliberate, or possibly Wilson had other reasons entirely for his choice.
Wilson returns to the Voynich Manuscript/Necronomicon at the end of his novel The Philosopher’s Stone. Throughout the novel, Howard Lester and his friend Sir Henry Littleway (whose initials can hardly be a coincidence) have been learning to develop their psychic abilities to avoid aging and bring about the next evolutionary step for humanity. As they become more successful, however, they are beset by a series of odd calamities. The two men are nearly involved in an auto accident, Littleway’s brother Roger assaults a girl, and scholars who were previously friendly to the two become hostile. Lester eventually realizes that these mishaps are the result of mental control by beings known as the Great Old Ones. He sets out to learn as much about them as possible, and during his search of mythology and religion he learns of Lovecraft and the Necronomicon.
One night, Lester believes Roger Littleway is in contact with the Great Old Ones. While Roger is resting, Lester asks him where the Necronomicon is. Roger mouths a phrase which sounds like, "The ladder..." Lester concludes that he actually means "Philadelphia", and tries to find which books may be in that city. One of them the Voynich Manuscript seems to be the one, so he and Littleway set out immediately to see it. When they arrive, they meet Professor Paul (now James) Lang’s nephew and follow his suggestions to decipher it. They find that the book is not actually the Necronomicon, but a commentary on it including many passages from the book itself.
The most terrifying aspect of the Voynich Manuscript, however, is not its contents. Lester and Littleway have become adept at psychometry that is to say, psychic reading of the histories of objects yet they can get no reading on the manuscript at all. One day, they attempt to do so in concert, and break through the interference, only to disturb the slumber of one of the Great Old Ones themselves. The two men make it through alive but shaken, and then begin plotting their next move against the Old Ones...www.bibliotecapleyades.net/ciencia/esp_ciencia_manuscrito06.htmNow, the 'French Satanists,' here introduced (or should I say, re-introduced?) seem familiar from my thread regarding the 'Ninth Gate' film illustrations, and the content of the film, itself. Judging from the roadsign, pointing to St. Martin, they would seem to be 'Martinists,' I would think... and some of the most 'famous' Martinists make up the elite group of 'magicians' known as the Elus Coen... And this is all very interesting, but we haven't gotten to the most interesting translation of all yet, which is forthcoming. Out of all of this translating, there was one bit of research that seemed to call out to me, although I didn't see that anything further had been done with it, until just the other day, when I 'stumbled onto' this translation; that first bit had to do with the 'script,' and the fact that it resembled an ancient form of Hebrew... I guess you can see why that caught my eye. Then, I began to ask myself why, and how, someone would produce one only 'book' written in this ancient form of Hebrew, or where it might have come from. I have my own surmises on that, of course. And, you might be surprised to know that they tie all of those 'translations' pretty neatly into some sort of a knot, I'm sure...

The research that I intend to post now was done by a Jim Finn; I am going to reprint some of it here, and then see if I can find a more recent 'update' of his work... if anyone else knows of it, I would appreciate a link to anything that he's done on the subject lately. As I think you will see, this particular research and translation opens some very interesting doors... or 'gates,' maybe... NOTE: Due to the fact that the ONLY COMPLAINT I have had about this work (from outside people reading for the first time) is the Star People connection (which, unfortunately for you, IS a historical part of the END TIMES destruction story, like it or not), I offer a second, more down to earth, choice for the appearance of pertinent sections of the VMS.
All of the End Times data I have looked at to-date, shows, it is possible that humans have had this information hidden away for millennia. The last release of this End Times info was a complete failure, because, it simply was THE WRONG TIME to release it to humanity.
The people that released the info believed the End was coming. Hence the release. But, it was NOT the End. Hence, sometime within the following couple of centuries, the group I call The Elders, and Borges calls the People of the Secret, disbanded or were killed. After 1000 AD, there seems to be a great "need" to find this lost information concerning the End of the World. Hence there was a quest by "certain people" to find this information.
A story was slowly composed concerning this "quest." The path of information transfer follows the hidden meanings of the names behind the characters of Uther Pen Dragon, Igraine, Merlin, and, finally Arthur. A symbol was chosen and a "link character" called Joseph of Arimathea brings us back to "Pauline" origins. The "Graal Cup" symbol had NOTHING to do with the actual thing sought. But, in typical hidden rhetoric, its NAME served the purpose. The story WE know is the Quest for the Holy Graal. The meaning of the core information, hidden in story form (as usual), was the Quest for the information concerning The End Times. The Graal cup symbolized "the information." And, to answer the Graal question: Who does one serve with the Graal? One serves HUMANITY.
So, for all of you that are having such a hard time swallowing Star People intervention in human affairs, because you continue to view history WITHOUT the archetypal information, I offer a second "more down to earth," possibility.
Now... there exists an extremely old and as-yet-undeciphered manuscript that has been dubbed the Voynich Manuscript, after its (re)discoverer, Wilfred Voynich. Dates surrounding the manuscript's writing float around the 1400 to 1600s AD. (My translation method indicates that ONE word used in the Manuscript -thus far- does not allow, what I call, the End Times sections, to be dated before 1600.) There also exist tons of verified and speculative information about this manuscript on the web, as well as pictures of the pages. Rather than take up space here rewriting information that you can look up for yourself, I will put links at the bottom of this page so you can track down what you want to see on the web.
This manuscript was written in an alphabet that was designed to hide its information. The alphabet was itself seemingly cracked by a group known simply as the Voynich Group. This group is a collection of scholars and a few secret societies members that have been working on this for years. In the words of one of their members, "The small manuscript was written in a code, before which even the best cryptologists and linguists of the world have had to surrender so far."
When I came across this manuscript, I thought the alphabet looked familiar... As I looked through the text, my eyes kept falling on one particular Voynich word, AIN. Ain is Hebrew for the "eye". I knew what was written around this word wasn't Hebrew, but I kept coming back to it in my mind. What was happening was I saw something and then logically dismissed it. Which was exactly what the author wanted to happen. If you got beyond his alphabet, there had to be more methods of encoding, of hiding this mysterious text. Besides AIN for instance, there also existed variants of this word like AIIN and AIIIN. That in itself caused a great deal of confusion. There were also variants of the AIN word, like DAIN and OKAIIN.
One thing the Voynich Group talks about continually is that they believe this manuscript is encoded. Great lengths have been taken to find the code and decipher the words. After having looked over page one of this manuscript, I felt that the group was right in one aspect. It was encoded. But not by the logical method, the mathematical method of encoding they were looking for. It was visually encoded. At least as far as I have gone with it.
For instance, that word AIN. I thought about the fact that if AIN was Hebrew for the eye, then to visually encode it the author could also write AIIN and AIIIN. Even though on the surface it would logically appear that these variations represented different words, they were all actually the same word, the Hebrew AIN, the eye. When the letter D was added, as DAIN, it represented the construction D'A, the Hebrew word "knowledge", spelled daleth ain. You really have a two letter word, not a four letter word. When he changed 'A (the letter ain) for the Latin letter O, OIIN, it would show the writer was possibly accessing another definition of AIN, such as "to look at." The Latin letter O is derived from the Hebrew letter 'Ain. www.bibliotecapleyades.net/ciencia/esp_ciencia_manuscrito02.htm

To make a long story short, after having applied what I believed to be a method of visual decoding, the words in the manuscript began to open up. The first word on the first page, FACHYS, was really 3 Hebrew words in one.
F ACH YS
This had a possible rendering of; "Therefore / brother / there is."
The letter F, or the Hebrew Vav, has meaning. ACH also was a word. YS or ISH was also a word. (The Latin letter Y is derived from the Hebrew letter Yod. Shin and Sin, using this method, is an exchangeable nightmare. In Hebrew, there is a mark on Shin when it uses the S sound or SH sound so you can tell the difference. Doing what he is doing here, there is no way to tell if he means: sin (vocal S), shin (vocal S), or shin (vocal SH). Each possible version must be examined.
As I progressed into page one, each visually encrypted word had a definition. A context was forming but there was no sentence structure. I thought about this... a great deal. It finally dawned on me that anyone, speaking any language, could get the same list of definitions in their language and use paraphrase to construct sentences the way they spoke. Language barriers would not exist. There would be no fumbling with Hebrew grammar, and it also made for a great third wall of encryption. Now, I must also say, that having translated page one and a line of page two (and the first line on a page that which we will talk about below), there is no guarantee that this method of translation will continue to work. Especially since the Group has mentioned that there may have been more than one writer behind this work. Time will tell.
As I continued at this, a picture was forming. It isn't a pretty picture. It deals with what we know today as the End Times. Now, religiously, the time of the end is a period where the evil are destroyed and the good survive. Depending on whose ancient version you read, you will get variations of that theme. Our problem is that scientifically, this supposed "God-sent destruction" has been scientifically proven to be a cyclical destruction that comes from an explosion at the center of our galaxy. It comes every 13-26,000 years, and has been called by Dr. Paul LaViolette "a Galactic Superwave." The last large explosion brought our last Ice Age to a rapid end, flooding much of the planet.
One of the most interesting stories about these floods I had ever heard was on one of those Public TV stations like Discovery or TLC. The story had to do with an area in Washington State called the scablands. They talked about the rapidly receding glaciers and the building melt water behind the front wall of ice. One day in our ancient past it just let loose at a rate 10 times the combined flow of all the rivers in the world. What will happen the next time this cosmic disaster, this Superwave, hits us? We may live to see it.
According to ancient texts, we are due. It has been expected to hit and was recorded in the Christian Gospels as the Day of the Lord (and no man knows the time). It is fire this time that will consume all. According to Dr. Laviolette, the man who has been working on this cosmic event, we just don't know when it will happen. It could be tomorrow, it could be four hundred years from now. But it will come. It always comes. And when this Galactic Core explosion happens, it eventually, over time, appears as an EYE in the sky, emanating from the center of our galaxy. To quote Dr LaViolette from his book, Earth Under Fire:
"According to a legend told by the Hopi Indians, the present world civilization is not the first to populate the earth. Before this one, there were three other "worlds", each terminated by a global catastrophe. They call the present world cycle the "Fourth World", and claim that it too like the others before it, will one day come to an end. They say that this ending will be heralded by the appearance of Saquasohuh, the Blue Star spirit.
Since the cores of distant exploding galaxies are observed to have a bright blue star-like appearance, it is reasonable to expect that the core of our own Galaxy would have a similar appearance during its explosive phase. So the legendary appearance of the Blue Star could be referring to an explosion of our Galaxy's core.... Several hundred years after the first appearance of the Blue Star, earth observers would have become aware of lighting effects resulting from the Superwave's passage through the galaxy's central bulge...
This frightening spectacle may have appeared to ancient inhabitants as a gigantic punishing "Eye" in the sky, the entire form occupying about a 16 degree field of view, or about 32 solar diameters. The "iris", would have a diameter of about, 4 degrees with a brilliant light emanating from its central pupil -- the Blue Star."
What I want to share first is the first line from the Voynich text that has the picture we are going to discuss.
The inner part divides, rips asunder. It surrounds the living. Knowledge is also coming apart. The deniers took the high place. The wheat is the height. Deniers look. Trouble comes from the eye, oh sin of God. It is time to cry out for help. You will be lopped off. Amputated by what is coming.

Line by line updated paraphrase translation of page 1 of the Voynich Manuscript:
Seeing, my friend, as there is power that will prevail [the power would have to refer to the power of the devastation of the eye], be wakeful. It is the appointed time of the Eye. Know also that opponents, deniers, have been allowed by men. They are now the head evil faction. All that are precious to them will be killed.
The stench of sin is in the air. The eye of the moon grows white. Horus returns. That small eye is precious to us. Its removal was a horrible thing. Evil will be separated and burned for it. They will be surrounded by the glider.
What once was will be again. You will be made to drink from this enemy. Truly the eye will destroy everything. It will pound and beat everything like a group of lions. The eye moves in a cycle. The cycle comes again.
The eye. Look carefully into what it means. Take advice. Pray! Take advice, shake with fear. You will be surrounded. Use wisdom and knowledge. Trouble comes from the eye. This enemy will roll up everything.
A demon was the young shoot [by inference...the only shoot that was of any historical significance in this context, was that of David. The text word, sair, refers to the old Hebrew He-goat worship...see Gesenius] came as a party that knew about the eye. He came to make atonement and said there is burning destruction coming from the eye.
Knowledge is the most important thing.
--the lamb has failed. Deniers will be skimmed as the foam. Laid as a heap of ruins by that which is cyclical. The swift scorching eye destroys violently as the lion.
The story of the world messiah coming from men (root of Jesse) (sent from God) is diabolical. It oppresses the living. It is the time of the Phoenix. It is the way of things. The living get weaker. Get knowledge. That which grows white [full moon symbolism] returns with haste.
Knowledge and wisdom are the gateway. The burning from above will be a Godly kind of overpowering.
Use knowledge (think). Make haste. Document information twice.
* / !!!!!!!! ? you of much knowledge who the Eye will bend together. Rejoice about the existence of the Eye. Your blindness is a gift. Rejoice. You will be oppressed. Cry out for help. You have hardened yourselves against the time of the lion. These are the times. You have stirred up trouble. Devastation, violence, coming from the eye. Look, see, get knowledge.
What is it worth to wait tensely? Bow before the eye, humble yourself. Or you will be skimmed as the foam. Be strong together. You will be snatched up. You will then bow down. Knowledge is the door.
Get knowledge. Look carefully at the Phoenix bird. The eye returns again. The eye propounds a riddle to all. The eye will trod upon while the glider will gather. It is a hidden mystery.
Knowledge can be calming. The promise of Horus' return and the moon growing full are the same. Understand the Phoenix. The Phoenix returns. Understand.
Cry for help. Understand the judgment that awaits, you hardened generation. The eye propounds a riddle... what would rather cry for help than stand up and live?
Separated in the tomb of the eye. Cry for help. Leave it behind you my beloved friend. Or be raked up with exactness.
Magician! Denier of the Eye. Bow down. Bow down to the Lamb and twice to me. [That last line is pure sarcasm.] Knowledge of the cyclical eye was dimming. Bravo! [Sarcastic cheers]
You will be pierced, laid to waste by the eye. It will oppress your cities. Living profitably, when suddenly from above, a rejoicing faction in a burning Temple room.
Desire the living knowledge of the return of Horus. Or burn.
The time is upon us all. Get knowledge.
You will be vanquished. Cry out for help. Desire life. The Phoenix flies; it returns again. It is the cycle of God. It is fitting. The disaster of the living God. Calamity is at the door.
Carefully look at all of this knowledge you have in your hand, oh faction of God. The cycle of the moon and the prince of the cycle, Horus, are the same. We wait.
Oh noble ones, trouble comes from the eye. Cry out for help. The eye will foreclose on your knowledge. You are arrogant and wrapped up in your knowledge. You will be wrapped up in that which moves cyclically.
[More sarcasm] Live Long, you who piece together trouble as knowledge. It oppresses the living. It undermines everything about the eye. Bow your head to live. Be humble.
Oh God, live forever. Because they have hardened themselves, they will be snatched up and trodden upon. They imitate life while the humble endeavor.
You are a leech of God's goodness.
The eye will wash everything clean.Well, now... this 'Eye' definitely seems serendipitous, considering our Tracing Board symbolism, don't you think? Very much so...

To continue... It is my belief that the author of this work was dead serious. I also believe he was a Semite, more than likely Hebrew. I believe this because:
1) what I believe was the translation of the Voynich word SAIR (Hebrew would be, shin ain yod resh... SAIR). According to Gesenius, it follows the Hebrew tradition of he-goat worship.
2) what I believe should be translated as a prayer to God, when I translated the line that began, "Oh God live forever" , from Voynich dc*eo, which I believe should be written as dcheo. Which seems to be a first letter moved to the end of the word encryption, making it cheod ChI ‘OD (cheth yod 'ain daleth) living forever. And shody ShDI, God.
3) based on what I have seen, he is very comfortable with Hebrew grammar, as far as letter exchanges according to Hebrew grammatical rules.
This person was also familiar with Latin equivalents for Hebrew characters. He knows which Latin letters are derived from what Hebrew letters. And he uses these exchanges as a form of encryption.
But why encryption? The literal meaning of encrypt should conjure up all ideas of something put in a tomb, hence forgotten, buried. In (the) crypt. The base commonized Latin meaning is that of something hidden. Someone who does not want the information found out. At least not while he lives. This idea in itself dictates that the information contained "in the crypt" is important enough to have been put there, either for the information's sake alone, or the fact that the author may lose his life because of the contents. Or both.
Now, if this writing is as old as is thought, one can easily see how information deemed possibly heretical would be a danger to the writer's life, as well as the life of the information. From what little I have seen so far, this writer is anti Christianity and pro Mysteries. Making him a candidate for execution...

So, considering the 'pieces' of this puzzle... just what kind of a Semite might we be looking for as the author? We have alchemical terms, magic, 'God,' lions, eyes, Horus and the moon, a temple room, a Lamb, a phoenix, and more... it makes it difficult to know just where to start, but...
Since we are advised to 'understand the Phoenix,' that might be as good a place as any.

A 'traditional' rendering... And something a little bit more 'familiar,' I think... The image above is called 'Rising from the Ashes,' or something like that, which seems appropriate, considering what kind of a 'Semite' or 'Hebrew' we might be looking for. You know the basic story of the Phoenix, which is that of a 'mythical bird,' said to have its home in the Middle East, which was destroyed in flames... and which left an egg... which will hatch to become a new Phoenix, said to rise from its own ashes. The story, within this simple framework, reminds me of another story... about a certain tribe of Semites, or Hebrews, which were destroyed 'by fire,' but which left an/few 'offspring,' or, an 'egg,' which will someday return, or rise... as if from its own ashes, if you Will. I'm sure you know the story... and I'm equally certain that you can see that it 'fits,' as well as any story might. And, of course, in the end... The Phoenix rises. Through the fire and flames, Iam... just as I said.

I'll tell you how serendipity works... I was just looking over the old 'Sanctum Sanctorum' to see if Arthur had made any additions, and I saw a link to Storm's Shelter... another website. I clicked, and looked over the 'Hello' section... and what 'name' do you suppose popped up there as a 'poster?' Nyarlathotep... Straight from the Necronomicon... it equates to 'Mercury,' or 'messenger'... Like Gabriel. Quicksilver Messenger Service, more or less... and the message seems to be that the 'agents' are out, and have been out, and this isn't the first one that I've noticed; the time must be anticipated to be soon. They still seem to be looking for something; undoubtedly, they are missing a key. And that's funny, because... the Jesuits had a 'crack' at it; I wonder if they're just not telling...

First of all, I'd like to say 'thank you' for your reply... it is appreciated for its 'uniqueness,' if for no other reason. I do appreciate the fact that you took a few minutes to respond to my thoughts regarding the Voynich Manuscript. To begin with, these are merely my 'notes' in regard to various subjects that I find of interest; if you are also interested, then maybe some of the historical material and/or illustrations that I posted will spark some further discoveries on your own part; I made several of my own, and the posts were made as my own 'discoveries' and thoughts came to me, and so they must seem somewhat... disorganized, as you say. Beyond that... as soon as I can figure out just exactly what it is that you said there, I'll be more than happy to take it all under consideration... And, you're right, of course... you should definitely stop 'waswting' your time trying to read this, and concentrate on some basic spelling, instead... You're welcome.

In retrospect, I feel that my reply to our new friend, 'Kyrie' (and that's more like it, isn't it?), may have been somewhat 'short-sighted,' and that would leave us with another case of what approaches the 'blind leading the blind,' which path we've already been down. So... I will try to 'sum up' my own thoughts concerning this 'Voynich Manuscript' for you, all...
1) The manuscript is authentic, or 'real.' 2) The manuscript was written in an early sort of 'proto-Hebrew,' if you will, which is much older than the Hebrew language that is now known, but still familiar in its 'root' form. I surmise, then, that the authors were 'Hebrews,' but of a 'tribe' or 'stock' that is either older than any known today, and/or was separated from the main 'stock' of Hebrews somehow (as their version of the language is no longer the same), and that where ever they were re-located to, they had NO contact with the main body of Hebrews from which they came. 3} Their knowledge and illustrations of plants seems to indicate that they are familiar with 'earthly' varieties of such, but these varieties are not of the sort that grow 'above-ground,' for a certainty, so that, if they are indeed native plants (and I submit that they are), then they must grow in another location... somewhere that we haven't been able to go... yet... and that pretty much only leaves us one place, in this day and age... Under-ground. Right, Alice...? Lol... 3) The information contained within the volume seems to be 'practical' in nature, and it would seem that the purpose of the volume is to be 'informational,' and therefore, based on facts, as the writer knew them to be. 4) There is, and has been, only one copy of this volume. The question of 'why' could be easily answered, if one considers the possibility(as I have) that it was brought along in the effects of a 'traveler,' say, from that place... to here... for themselves, as well as the people that they might meet here, and who would be affected by the prophecies(or just fore-knowledge, say) contained therein. 5) I further suggest that this 'traveler,' like a very few others whose stories you can find sprinkled oh-so-lightly throughout history... Merovee, for instance... from the Sea... came from a place terrestrial enough, but oh so far away, and I believe that I know the identity of these very, very old Hebrews.
I further believe, that if you think about it, without bias, 'Kyrie,' you will find the evidence that still lies within our reach... and the message that it is trying to give us. Before, 'God' forbid, it's too late...
I would have posted the other version of this video, but the poster looked a little bit too 'familiar'... if you know what I mean...
