Singularly Stoned...

Well, let's try this again... I had a fair start on my thread, when... poof... there it went... like bad magic... lol...
Now, where was I...? Right... I hope that the title is catchy enough, and the truth is, that since I've been thinking about both of those things lately, I thought that it would be appropriate,- symbolism is extremely important in this aspect of Masonry, as a 'vehicle' for the transmission of the ancient and historic 'Mysteries' into the Future. There have been other 'vehicles' employed, from time to time... I hope that you are beginning to guess what some of those are, and have been...
The arcane and esoteric symbolism of the 'stone,' in its various aspects, is of supreme importance to the institution of Freemasonry, and so we should concentrate on the reasons why this particular symbol is relevant, and how we can apply the symbolism to Truth, which is our 'goal.' To know the Truth, and finally be free...
Let's begin with a quote from some of the Masonic literature that I've been reading from... you are free, of course, to make what you want to out of it, and take it for what it is worth...
Let the Benign Genius of the Mystic Art preside over our councils, and under her sway, let us act with a dignity becoming the high moral character of our venerable institution...
And so, let it Be...
Now, interestingly, we just had our 'Head East,' and some of the topics that I intend to cover are the Stone of Foundation, and the cornerstone, which is (as I remarked earlier) always laid in the northeast corner of the building; this is a long-standing historic tradition, the importance of which lies not in its 'utility,' but its symbolism.
You know, I'm not sure about this poster, but it was five years ago, so... what the heck... it's a good tune...
The light, or Sun, rises in the 'east' and travels to the 'west'... and in the 'north'... lies the 'dark land of the dead'... Oh, it's meaningful, all right... since our 'cornerstone' seems to planted squarely in the Thules...
I come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight Sun, where the hot springs flow...
3... 6... 9...
And now, if you'll excuse me, I have a short addition to make to the 'Alice' thread, as well...
I'll be right back...
That sounds about right...
Notice on the stamp above, that the 'price' is given as 'Ore'... and that's an abbreviation for the 'state' that I'm living in... lolol... I told you, didn't I?
Et in Cascadia Ego...
Now, that's keeping history 'fresh,' if you ask me... and totally in line with the 'evidence,' as presented...
It is the 'Thules,' after all... and I am on the 44th latitude line (and this is the 1144th post)... there is a 'house' (or building, at least) shown, with a mountain in the background... I like the symbolism.
Now, about the Stone of Foundation...
I'd like to begin with a quote from another recent thread,-
According to Mayan Legend, there will come a time when 13 ancient crystal skulls are reunited that can affect the Earth and the course of humanity. The story of Creation according to Mayan culture plays an integral part in daily Mayan living, so it is no surprise that the day the calendar ends plays an equally important role. This date is calculated as December 21, 2012 and there are many interpretations of 2012 Mayan prophecies...
"The year 2012 marks the birth of a Golden Age, and a great transformation for consciousness on Earth. The transformation process always involves death and rebirth...
www.crystalskulls.com/
This is important, since our 'Stone of Foundation' and our 'cornerstone' were 'laid' at the very 'creation of the world'...
Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Job 38:6,7
And you see that the 'cornerstone' was laid with singing, just as they have been in all succeeding Masonic cornerstone ceremonies... more symbolism for you...
And, as to the 'cornerstone,' we know this...
And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
Luke 20:17
The 'head of the corner,' which would be the northeast corner... and, 'rejected,' it was... kind of like poor 'Rudolph,' who was later chosen to head up the team of reindeer... lol...
Well...?
Run, run, Rudolph...
It is to be 'well formed, true and trusty'... perfectly square, in order that the walls to be raised upon it may be raised perpendicular, and therefore, straight... the building will be able to maintain its 'integrity.' The square is the symbol of morality, and the Greeks considered the square (or cube) to be the symbol of 'perfection.'
Perfectly square...
And, in connection with 'morality,' I guess you can see where the label 'square' came from now... as in, "She's such a square..."
Good Lord, he's dancing by himself... lolol...
It's not a bad thing...
And, as far as 'squares' go, the New Jerusalem is said to be a 'cube,' or a 'perfect square,' like a 'cornerstone,' so that it may be that the same 'cornerstone' that was laid at the 'foundation of the world' will be the 'cornerstone' of the New Jerusalem... a rebis/rebus...
Many scholars have concluded that the dimensions of New Jerusalem forms a cube and I would agree with that assessment. The cube pattern follows the pattern for the Holy of Holies in the tabernacle and the temple, as well as other cube geometries of other religions. The cube represents perfection, because the length, width and height are all of equal measurements, and the cube has perfect symmetry. The cube can be unfolded into a cross when we are trying to represent the two dimensional aspect of the cube.
A cube that is folded up into the fourth dimension will actually form a cross of cubes and this is called a tesseract. Again, we can see the Christ pattern of the cross is no longer hidden within a cube. This cube shape is the perfect shape for New Jerusalem, because it is the cross in the second and fourth dimensions.
cube-it.webs.com/chapter56.htm
Perfect...
The cube, in the language of symbolism, denotes truth. Among the pagan mythologists, Mercury, or Hermes, was always represented by a cubical stone, because he was the type of truth, and the same form was adopted by the Israelites in the construction of the tabernacle, which was to be the dwelling place of divine truth...
The cornerstone of the dwelling place of divine truth... it just has a nice ring to it, don't you think? And so, it is as I said... it doesn't matter if you 'believe it' or not... the Truth will stand, because it is squared... with everything else around it.
And, in my 'calculations,' everything seems to be 'squaring up'...
Quite nicely, really.
Now, we've seen our cube in the 'fourth dimension,' which is exactly where we will expect to find our 'New Jerusalem,' according to the same website article, which I encourage you to read in full...
The New Jerusalem cube is within this cube of our three dimensional universe, and therefore it is the inner cube of the hypercube. It is the gateway by which we leave this lower dimension.
Hay... it's Carl Sagan...
Four gates... four 'dimensions' of reality (out of seven possible, I think, but 'four' is the next 'group' dimensional experience) that we can access... if we can make the 'translation'...
And this squares with the Mayan prophecies...
...and it seems that it was known from the 'foundations of the earth;' now, there are only a few ways that the end could be known from 'the beginning,' if you stop to think about it. And one of those ways involves somebody going 'back to the future'... believe it or not. And this knowledge of the 'future' was delivered at the 'beginning,' or the 'laying of the cornerstone'... and this knowledge constitutes what has been known ever after as 'the Mysteries.'
It's a 'mystery' only because it hasn't been concluded yet... if these 'events' were all in the 'past,' we'd know the ending, wouldn't we? It wouldn't be much of a 'mystery,' and yet... obviously they remain so.
The good news? I think it's time for some 'understanding'... with a little bit of a change in 'perspective'... which means that we'll be turning things upside-down... mostly...
This next passage is nice, and it helps to 'read between the lines,' if you will... symbolism, symbolism, symbolism...
But the strength and durability of the cornerstone are also eminently suggestive of symbolic ideas. To fulfill its design as the foundation and support of the massive building whose erection it precedes, it should be constructed of a material which may outlast all other parts of the edifice, so that when that "eternal ocean whose waves are years" shall have engulfed all who were present at the construction of the building in the vast vortex of its ever flowing current, and when generation after generation shall have passed away and the crumbling stones of the ruined edifice shall begin to attest the power of time and the evanescent nature of all human undertakings, the corner-stone will remain to tell, by its inscription, and its form, and its beauty, to every passer-by, that there once existed in that, perhaps then desolate, spot, a building consecrated to some noble or some sacred purpose by the zeal and liberality of men who now no longer live.
Watch the symbolism here...
'China Grove' reminds me of something...
Oh, yes... the 'Grand Orient'... and a woman from 'Tokyo'...
But, to get back to the quote above, it really just begs another question, doesn't it...?
Who is, and how are they, 'sailing' on that "eternal ocean whose waves are years"...? Sailors... and navigators, surely... of the very 'highest' order...
Which reminds me of our 'event horizon' and 'singularity' events which have yet to be explained to my satisfaction... even though, I've heard some explanations given.
I have an idea that both of these things have to do with the timing of the completion of our 'mysteries,'- that when that happens, this will be known as 'crossing the event horizon',- which is what those 'celestial' sailors had in sight all this time...
...and further, that this 'event,' (or 'singular' person, perhaps) which will join the Past, in Truth, with the Future, and allow us to proceed to the Truth of the Present, is known as the 'singularity,' or 'unity,' which is the Grand Culmination of the Mysteries... to be in 'harmony' with Time, which is said to be the 'fourth dimension.'
In 'time' with the Universe... and 'we' are the 'missing chord'...
That's what I'm thinking... for what it's worth...
Here are some definitions for 'singularity',- compare these to the ideas given above in regard to the 'corner-stone,' and see what you think...
1.
the state, fact, quality, or condition of being singular.
"he believed in the singularity of all cultures"
synonyms: uniqueness, distinctiveness
"the singularity of their concerns"
a peculiarity or odd trait.
plural noun: singularities
synonyms: idiosyncrasy, quirk, foible, peculiarity, oddity, eccentricity
"his singularities"
2.
PhysicsMathematics
a point at which a function takes an infinite value, especially in space-time when matter is infinitely dense, as at the center of a black hole.
3.
a hypothetical moment in time when artificial intelligence and other technologies have become so advanced that humanity undergoes a dramatic and irreversible change.
"maybe the singularity just happened, and we didn't notice"...
The technological singularity is the hypothetical advent of artificial general intelligence (also known as "strong AI"). Such a computer, computer network, or robot would theoretically be capable of recursive self-improvement (redesigning itself), or of designing and building computers or robots better than itself.
The last bit of emphasis is my own, if you see what I mean...
And what if we were 're-designing ourselves' by means of our own DNA...? Made of higher-grade material, and so, made to last... like a good 'corner-stone' should be...
Rather singular, I should think...
And, hay... if you play 'Enter Sandman' backwards, does that mean it's time to get up...?
If it's even safe to get up... I think that means he's out of the closet, as well...
Lolol...
Now, here's something we hope you'll really like...
...and if not... I do...
In the ceremony of depositing the corner-stone, the sacred elements of masonic consecration are then produced, and the stone is solemnly set apart by pouring corn, wine and oil on its surface. Each of these symbols has a beautiful significance in our symbolism...
Thou preparest me a table in the presence of my enemies... Thou anointest my head with oil... my cup runneth over...
Surely, goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever...
David also enumerated these things in his "catalogue of blessings as 'wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart...' "
Now, let's look at some things in relation to this part of the quote given previously...
...the corner-stone will remain to tell, by its inscription, and its form, and its beauty, to every passer-by, that there once existed in that, perhaps then desolate, spot, a building consecrated to some noble or some sacred purpose by the zeal and liberality of men who now no longer live.
The emphasis here is on the 'inscription' which it bears... and this is part of that which tells us (or testifies to the fact, if you prefer) that it is the 'original' and 'authentic' stone... it bears an appropriate 'inscription,' which tradition tells us is the 'name of God'...
The Master's Mark of the Grand Architect of the Universe...
Corn, for instance, is symbolic of resurrection, particularly...
Now, let's remember that 'corn' is featured in the architecture of Rosslyn Chapel, and 'corn' as such, was supposed to have been unknown in that place, at that time, and, rather, a peculiar 'native' of the 'New World,' where it is rumored that a voyage was undertaken to visit...
Where a 'resurrection' was expected to take place, maybe...? And 'temple' treasures are rumored to have been deposited in a strange multi-layered underground 'safe,'- I have a story in which 'Enoch' places his own 'treasures' within such an underground 'vault,' and I will post it for you when I run into it... it reminds me of the 'treasure hunters' of Oak Island, who are said to be looking for the similarly-designed hiding place for other 'treasures' in the 'new world,' and specifically the 'ark of the covenant,' where they may have been hidden.
Where 'corn' grew... after a 'seed was planted'... in 'death'...
And the Light traveled from the east to the west...
The far limits of the northwest, maybe... to the shores of the 'ocean of Time'...
Check it out... on the album...

Now, let's look at another quote from the same source, having to do with our 'corner-stone'...
It may be noticed, in concluding this topic, that the corner-stone seems to be particularly a Jewish symbol. I can find no reference to it in any of the ancient pagan rites and the EBEN PINAH, the corner-stone, which is so frequently mentioned in Scripture as the emblem of an important personage, and most usually, in the Old Testament, of the expected Messiah, appears, in its use in Masonry, to have had, unlike almost every other symbol of the order, an exclusively temple origin.
Now, that's interesting... mostly because, if the 'corner-stone' was 'laid' at the 'foundations of the world,' that means that it was 'Jewish' by nature, even then, in the future, but transcending even that... to the very 'foundations,' in which we find laid our 'Stone of Foundation,' which is something else, again.
More or less...
You see, almost all cultures share a 'stone of foundation,' but not all cultures share the peculiar, or singular, 'corner-stone'...
Oh, here we go... with the 'Stone of Foundation,' belongs the 'tale of Enoch' that I was going to tell you...
This series of legends commences with the patriarch Enoch, who is supposed to have been the first consecrator of the Stone of Foundation. The legend of Enoch is so interesting and important in masonic science as to excuse something more than a brief reference to the incidents which it details.
The legend in full is as follows: Enoch, under the inspiration of the Most High, and in obedience to the instructions which he had received in a vision, built a temple under ground on Mount Moriah, and dedicated it to God. His son, Methuselah, constructed the building, although he was not acquainted with his father's motives for the erection. This temple consisted of nine vaults, situated perpendicularly beneath each other, and communicating by apertures left in each vault.
Enoch then caused a triangular plate of gold to be made, each side of which was a cubit long; he enriched it with the most precious stones, and encrusted the plate upon a stone of agate of the same form. On the plate he engraved the true name of God, or the tetragrammaton, and placing it on a cubical stone, known thereafter as the Stone of Foundation, he deposited the whole within the lowest arch.
Nine vaults... and within the number nine is an outstanding example of both masonry and metallurgy...
Tubal-Cain...
That sounds about right...
Oh... my 'better half'...
How I miss it...
Unity sounds so... nice... for a change...
Now, just for 'fun,' let's compare the description of Enoch's 'Stone of Foundation,' given above, with the description of the 'New Jerusalem', given in the book of the Revelations... number 21, beginning with the first verse, and continuing...
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God...
18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie...
And, Enoch's 'stone of foundation,' or perhaps, better said, 'corner-stone' of the New Jerusalem, which was laid at the 'foundations of the world'...
Enoch then caused a triangular plate of gold to be made, each side of which was a cubit long; he enriched it with the most precious stones, and encrusted the plate upon a stone of agate of the same form. On the plate he engraved the true name of God, or the tetragrammaton, and placing it on a cubical stone, known thereafter as the Stone of Foundation...
I just thought that bit was fairly... provocative...
Now, you see that all of that 'engraving' and 'plating' and 'encrusting' required more than 'magic,' although I'm sure that it was the very best Magic,- it required a thorough knowledge of the Alchemical sciences, if you ask me...
And if Enoch and Methuselah were the 'heirs' to that knowledge, what does that mean... in Truth...?
Where the streets have no name...
I want to go there with you...

19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
